Avatar f tn My sister actually teaches prenatal yoga. It has helped me with the pregnancy so far even though im only 10 weeks. It has helped me with pain, sleep and nausea. I have known people to do it all thru their pregnancy and they have told me it is a life saver when giving birth and after. It needs to be done regularly too. Whoever teaches you tell them if you have a concern about pain, stiffness or illness and they can change your session accordingly to help that. Hope everything goes well for you.
649848 tn?1534633700 Well, Ranaesheart suggested the other day that I do a post about yoga, since I suggest it whenever someone new comes into the community, so I'm going to give it a shot. I must confess, I am definitely a novice with yoga myself, but I learn more as I go along. I know there are several different kinds of yoga, ranging from what I do, which is slow and deliberate to another type that is very physical. Each kind of yoga has its own name and no, I don't know them all.
Avatar f tn Sorry, I'm pretty far away (midwest) but i can suggest going online and searching for 'prenatal yoga' classes in your area to help you meet local moms. I did a 'yoga & pilates' class with my last baby, it was amazing for relaxation. Also my insurance offers 6 week childbirth classes (I found out about them on their website too) which would be another way for you to meet moms!
Avatar f tn I've done yoga - I do yoga. Daily. It's been fabulous for spasticity and balance. I'm a full-time cane user now but was able to hold it off for years through a combo of balance PT and, IMO, yoga. My suggestions: 1. Try to find a yoga teacher who has worked with people with MS. I've met yoga teachers who didn't have that experience who thought MS issues were muscle issues. And, they might be but they're message issues first. 2.

Avatar f tn They can have as little wine in as you wish, but they keep people from pushing you to conform. Staying sober gives you the opportunity to have good conversation with interesting people - their likes and dislikes and relationships.
Avatar n tn This is not exactly the forum to be asking this question, but to answer it, the only way to lose weight is that "calories in" needs to be less than "calories out". So with eating less and exercising more you should reach this goal. No matter what fad diet you do, this is the basic strategy of all of them. Just make sure you don't do a dangerous diet that makes you eat less than 1200 calories in a day.

Avatar f tn I used to do hasta yoga before getting pregnant And after week 20 I have started it again. If you are new to yoga and need a safe place to start then look up Lara dutta's prenatal yoga in YouTube. Its about half an hour video and she has simplified the asanas for pregnant women. I would recommend watching and doing one asana at a time so that you get the right muscles to work on.
Avatar f tn I've always worked out, but now that I'm pregnant (after 2 miscarriages) I'm trying to take things a little easier. I do want to stay active though. I've never done yoga, and I would like to try it....has anyone had experience starting yoga while pregnant? Good or bad idea?
980510 tn?1282010946 Lisa, I am not sure as I was trying Pilates and yoga with my DD prior to my surgery and some of the positions can put a strain on ur neck......as Carolyn mentioned, be aware of ur neck and see if there r things u can do with out that strain. In fact, Carolyn suggested that stretching works so well for her the past few days I too am stretching, but , not in ne positions that would put strains where I can not tollerate. I am working on my legs....lol....and will slowly work my way up....
Avatar n tn I do basic yoga asana (asana means that it is less cardio more posture and stretching) since the beginning of my pregnancy. I will be 35 weeks on Tuesday and it relieve my minor pains (hips, pelvic, lower back, buttocks and thighs). It also help to have a good posture and strengthen your core muscles for birth and baby position. It is great to take that time for you to relax. Sincerely, yoga is a revelation for me.
Avatar f tn Is beginner yoga safe while pregnant? Or would I have to do yoga for pregnant women?

4530502 tn?1360540494 The forum is usually slow on the weekends and not many people are on the boards so you may have to wait for Monday to get a good response. Some weeks the boards are answered so fast , your question may slide to page 2 before being answered. If this happens, just put "bump" in the post a comment section and it will rise to the top. Notes are public to everyone, PM are private messages that are only seen by the sender and receiver. Lastly, there are NO dumb questions!!!!

Avatar f tn I'm sending my husban out to buy a yoga ball in the morning haha! Its so frustrating knowin ur having contractions and they are in a way for nothing! Contractions are suppose to be for a purpose and im getting discouraged and frustrated having this pain and my body isn't responding the way it should :( another annoying part my dr said "if you were further along we would give you meds to help get things moving" I'm not 30 weeks here!
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever tried using a yoga ball to help engage the baby into position? Or to make them drop? How did it work for you?

628714 tn?1268238196 Let me start by letting you know that I suffer from GAD. Diagnosed in Feb. Well, I have tingling in my legs, sometimes one sometimes both. It could be anxiety related. In my case my muscles deep in my legs are so tight that they are pressing on the nerves causing uncomfortable sensations. I currently have this problem (had it since Feb). My legs have trigger points in them from chronic muscle tension from months of anxiety.
