yeast infection during labor delivery

Ive been battling yeast infections,my dr says their super common during pregnancy, but my question iswhat happens if i have one during labor? Will it effect my baby somehow?

Would it harm the baby if I were to go into labor and delivered with an infection? Idk if I should go to labor and delivery or what??

Could be a yeast infection from the meds. Antibiotics normally will cause yeast. Are you sfill active with partner(s)? You could be getting reinfected. Did you complete treatment as directed? If so Dr will give you stronger medicine.

Now the only reason to be alarmed about BV or yeast infection is that it can cause preterm labor if not treated. You're fine hun.

Okay so I'm pretty sure i have a yeast infection I got some antibiotics for tonsillitis on Tuesday and since taking then my vagina is swollen itchy red and hurting ....someone please tell me that there is a home remedy to ease up the symptoms until I can get to the doctor Thursday my doctor is out of town and I really feel like going to the hospital but I'd rather wait until my doctor comes back.

I had three infections which caused me to have my baby at 30 weeks. I had my 7th kidney infection, a horrible yeast infection from the kidney infection antibiotics, and after my water ruptured I got the infection in my water. I was on 4 different antibiotics while in the hospital till the day I left. My baby got put on antibiotics for 4 days for the yeast infection and for the infection in my waters.

I'm 32w5d & I developed my first yeast infection during pregnancy less than a week ago.. you can use the monistat, but I'd tried something similar to that before & it just didn't work for me.. my OB prescribed a 7-day treatment called "Terconazole" vaginal cream.. you insert an applicator full for 7 nights at bedtime, and it works miracles. I've also been using Vagisil for relief. tonight will be my 5th night, and I'm so relieved!!

I should definitely get started on the cranberry. I haven't given that a try yet. Did your baby come out healthy anyway? I read somewhere that when baby passes through during yeast infection, they could get Thrush. But also heard it is treatable depending on severity of the infection. I'm just trying to avoid the baby from getting the infection altogether.

And my doc recommend doing the 3 or 7 day dosage. She said the one day dosage sometimes isn't strong enough or gets rid of it even though it's supposed to be. She also said be sure to finish the 3 day or 7 day dosage before my next OB check and don't insert it all the way in.

I was taking a shower and I thought I was having my baby in the shower bc I had alot of pressure on thr bottom of my stomach I was hunched over for a little then the pressure went away then I layed down in ny bed and had pressure on the left side of my stomach followed by a random pain it felt like when u pinch a nerve that quick fast pain but it was constant so my doctor told me to go to labor and delivery...soo went to labor and delivery peed in a cup and still was having thoses random.

Ohh I wanted to add if it was a yeast infection you'd be itchy and it would uncomfortable.

Antibiotics will not get rid of a yeast infection. They can cause a yeast infection actually. Your doctor can prescribe Diflucan (not sure if I spelled that right) but it's a pill you take one time and your your yeast infection will be gone in 2 days.

I am nine months pregnant and my last doctor visit my doctor said he was certain that the yeast infection i had was herpes instead but not a 100% sure and i only have one sex partner and he has no symptoms and im almost certain that he has only been with me during the last 18 months. My doctor done a culture test and now im just waiting on results but in the mean time he put me on medicine for the herpes infection just in case because my due date is next week for the safety of the baby.

Just so you know... you can be infected with the virus for YEARS before an outbreak happens therefore don't be so quick to blame/judge your immediate partner. Pregnancy and/or delivery is/or can be a major stress on the body which activates the virus for the very first time (which is what happened in my case). So in many cases... just look in the mirror to blame annyone. If you are as unlucky to be infected... hopefully you will be lucky enough for it to stay dormant. BTW...

My little sis has GBS and they administered an antibiotic when she went into labor and right before delivery. It's not bad and with the medication they give during labor baby has a very very VERY slim chance of getting it.

if I had a yeast infection and I know there very common during pregnancy and the doctors gave me meds and I just had sex with my husband can he catch the yeast infection? And because we just had sex how do you know if a vagina is expanding? Because I'm due in 7 days and I didn't do any Lamause class and my mom lives up north and won't be in town for my delivery I honestly have no idea what I am expecting to do in a few days.

Sometimes doctors misdiagnose it and say u have a yeast infection because its very similiar organisms. Once u find the yeast infection meds fail, thats wen u need to go back to doctor to recheck for possible BV.

I just got done with both of those infections and it drove me crazy but its very common in pregnancy I never used the monistat 7 while pregnant but I don't cause pre term labor but the infection can well that's what I was told so it has to be treated as soon as possible

Do you have itching or pain when urinating? Could be a yeast infection or uti I would see if you can get checked for it.

My second hurt worse during delivery. I only pushed for four minutes. I was hurting so bad I was determined to get him out. But as for the post partum soreness, yeah it's been virtually non existent after the first four or five days.

you might want to let your doctor know.. 37 weeks could be early labor.. about the itching and burning.. you might have yeast infection... we do get that while pregnant.. call you doctor and come in to check that... you need to treat that infection before delivery.. good luck to you.

t have known at all that I had a UTI. I also had BV once and a yeast infection twice. My midwife never could tell me why I was having the infections, she just said some women are more prone to infections during pregnancy than others.
