yeast infection during a pregnancy

I had bv and a yeast infection at 6w. I can normally tell when I have either of them but I had no symptoms whatsoever. I took the meds they gave me.. I'm hoping it cleared but I honestly have no idea. My gyn said they were common during pregnancy.. ..yay...

I'm 16 weeks and I'm suffering from a horrible yeast infection. I took 7 days of terazol and 3 days of monistat. Neither helped. Creams usually don't on me. Diflucan is the only thing that works but my dr. said he doesn't prescribe it during pregnancy. I'm so sick of it. I'm miserable. Has anyone ever taken diflucan when they were pregnant? What are the side effects to the baby?

I got yeat infections with my pregnancies. With my 1st son they told me to use the cream that you externally use til the 2nd trimester. then if it is still bad use the internal. For my second son, they let me use monistste in my first trimester. If you do not feel right using it, and you can bare the itching, try the cream from the monistste, that you externally use to supress the itching.

My cousin is a great example. With her first pregnancy, she pretty much had a yeast infection the whole time! No matter how many times she went to get it taken care of it kept coming back! Don't worry about it, it's normal. Just make sure that you keep getting them treated. Good luck!

its not likely and im almost positive it doesnt. A lot of women suffer from yeast infections during pregnancy...it can however cause you to spot, as any vaginal infection during pregnancy can do that. But if your in early pregnancy your safest treatment is a 7 day treatment cream.I had one around 10 weeks and im now 15 weeks!

Ask them for a pregnancy test and to be checked for a yeast infection...other infections can closely resemble a yeast infection so it's best to be checked out and get an official diagnoses on both the infection and the pregnancy!

I wondered, though, have any of you ever experienced this during pregnancy? Is this dangerous? I had a yeast infection once before a looooooooooong time ago and was treated with cream; is that safe during pregnancy?

Yeast infections are very common during pregnancy so don't worry. That's the only time I've ever had a known yeast infection. Sometimes women have an infection and don't even know. Just call your doc and ask him what he thinks you should do. I'm anti medicine so I'm not sure if otc yeadt infection creams are safe during pregnancy.

Sorry to hear that. Monistat is probably the only med they recommend for yeast infection during pregnancy. Can't your doc prescribe something?? How long can you go on like this? Good luck to you. I hope it goes away!

b doc told me i had 2 infections.. which was a yeast and something due with my cervix... not sure the name of the infection... well she was suppose to prescribe me medicine or tell me which to take. i NEVER got the medicine... i checked from my pharmacy and she never sent it out and then i called the doc office and my doc never even wrote it down.. i called on fridayand they were suppose to give me a call back but they never did..

I developed a yeast around 8 weeks of pregnancy tried monistat and it burned like crazy so i only used it that one night out of 7. The dr said to try and let it go on its own. Now at 13 weeks pregnant symptoms are starting to arise again and i was preacribed terconazole. Just so many horrible things about it online that it scares me. Took the first dose laat night. Anyone have experience with yeast infections durimg prwgnancy and this med?

So, I'm 25 weeks & went to the doctors Monday & was told I have a yeast infection. Yet I have no symptoms of one except for whitish discharge & a lot of it. Is this normal?

I thought I was pregnant and had a yeast infection so I did a lot of research and everything told me to use Monistat 7. But it doesnt hurt to double check.

My doctor said Monistat was safe during pregnancy. There's a pill and a cream. I'm using it now and it's helped a lot. It hasn't burned since I started using it.
