Avatar n tn Did any of you had vaginal yeast infection during first trimester? My doctor perscribed me terconazole. When I got the medication inside of the package it said do not use during first trimester. I researched online and it says that some birth defects can occur.. I spoke with the nurse who said that there is not really anything safer than this medicine and leaving issue untreated can cause miscarriage (if infection gets to the uterus). I really don't know what is best deciduous here.

12693075 tn?1442246392 this is my 4th yeast infection during this pregnancy. Any advice?? I honestly think my husband has something to do with it. I get them more when we have a ton of sex. I'm 32.
Avatar f tn According to the FDA long term use during pregnancy causes birth defects. It's recommend no more than 150mg only once. Make sure you read the risks associated with drugs before you question your doctor. Monistat 7 is in a different group than dilfucan.
Avatar n tn I had bv and a yeast infection at 6w. I can normally tell when I have either of them but I had no symptoms whatsoever. I took the meds they gave me.. I'm hoping it cleared but I honestly have no idea. My gyn said they were common during pregnancy.. ..yay...
Avatar f tn Can you get a yeast infection when pregnant? And if so whats the causes?
1472764 tn?1287588186 I'm 16 weeks and I'm suffering from a horrible yeast infection. I took 7 days of terazol and 3 days of monistat. Neither helped. Creams usually don't on me. Diflucan is the only thing that works but my dr. said he doesn't prescribe it during pregnancy. I'm so sick of it. I'm miserable. Has anyone ever taken diflucan when they were pregnant? What are the side effects to the baby?
384104 tn?1291124812 A couple weeks prior to this, I noticed the begining symptoms of a yeast infection that I thought was just vaginal dryness. I treated it with Vagisil and the symptoms went away. Did I possibly miss the symptoms of a yeast infection that could have caused my misscarriage? After the miscarriage happened, my husband and I did not wait for my first cycle and had intercourse. I went to the Dr. this past Friday and I had another yeast infection. I am treating it now with Monistat 7.
Avatar f tn Have any of you ladies taken a single dose of fluconazole 150 mg during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn it can however cause you to spot, as any vaginal infection during pregnancy can do that. But if your in early pregnancy your safest treatment is a 7 day treatment cream.I had one around 10 weeks and im now 15 weeks!
Avatar f tn It sounds like you may have a yeast infection. If you were spotting and you're pregnant it's best to see your Gynecologist to makes sure you're okay, and that it's okay to be having sex. He/she can also check to see if you have a yeast or bacterial infection.
869568 tn?1248372915 I wondered, though, have any of you ever experienced this during pregnancy? Is this dangerous? I had a yeast infection once before a looooooooooong time ago and was treated with cream; is that safe during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Any has experienced yeast infection during pregnancy? Is it safe to consume Diflucan during first trimester?
Avatar f tn Yeast infections are very common during pregnancy so don't worry. That's the only time I've ever had a known yeast infection. Sometimes women have an infection and don't even know. Just call your doc and ask him what he thinks you should do. I'm anti medicine so I'm not sure if otc yeadt infection creams are safe during pregnancy.
7381903 tn?1391464888 Also, my sister said she never had BV before but during her last pregnancy she got it four times and the dr said that pregnancy causes all kinds of ph imbalances due to hormonal fluctuations. I hope that any of this helps you! Good luck! There are alot of us who sympathize with your pain right now!
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear that. Monistat is probably the only med they recommend for yeast infection during pregnancy. Can't your doc prescribe something?? How long can you go on like this? Good luck to you. I hope it goes away!

Avatar f tn right think I have a yeast infection, feel very sore and itchiness down there, what's best thing for it? Got a midwife appointment on Friday which I'm going to mention it, will she need to examine me?

Avatar n tn Unfortunately us prego ladies are prone to getting infections infections
Avatar f tn ve never heard of that antibiotic, and my mother works for a gyno. But I have had three during my pregnancy, I am 35weeks. They were the most horrible yeast infections I have EVER had. I used only monistat. I did use the cream one time, but it didn't help and didn't work, and it's not my preference in general, but the pill type one that is inserted the same way, worked best and staid in best. I did it right before bed. Seven day is probably best.
Avatar f tn It is very common to keep a yeast infection and Bacteria Vaginosis (BV) during pregnancy. With the boost in hormones everything is thrown off such as your PH balance. My doctor was saying even what we eat, stress and sex could throw it off...the slightest things. So don't worry just keep your doctor informed because both can attribute to preterm labor.
