Yaz vs seasonique

Common Questions and Answers about Yaz vs seasonique

yaz

Avatar n tn I'm on YAZ, and so is my roommate, and we both have trouble with being dry. I actually had to buy lube because it was such an issue. I only switched from Seasonele because of the money, but I'm thinking of going back because of the Yaz side effects. I didnt have any on Seasonele, and I found out that its the same thing as Seasonique (except Seasonique has hormones in the "placebo" pills) and Seasonique is covered by a state program... hopefully everything will work out!
Avatar f tn ive been on birth control since i was 13 for PMDD and recently switched to yaz from seasonique. i had unprotected sex while i was switching meds. i took a pregnancy test three days ago and it was negative but i still havent started... what should i do?
Avatar f tn So im 21y/o no health problems what so ever. I have been on yaz for a yr and i love it. i havnt had any problems with it at all and lucky to have no side effects. I have a vacation coming up soon and unfortunately i am scheduled to start my period at that time. I was wondering if anyone has ever skipped the 4 placebo pills and just gone straight into the next pack, non stop so they wont have their period. Does it work? I really need to know.
976978 tn?1248769300 I meant unclear exactly what kind of thyroid problem -- ie thyroiditis vs hot nodule vs graves vs abnormal labs of uncertain significance......vs possible pituitary issue.... would see an endocrinologist to sort this out. It is an unusual situation to have consistently normal TSH/T4 and high T3.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.
Avatar n tn Can Seasonique cause cystitis? I started having cystitis-like symptoms shortly after I started taking Seasonique. My urologist wants to perform a distenstion of the bladder, but I read that Seasonique can cause cystitis like symptoms. I would rather switch pills than have the distention. He did not make the correlation between the new pill and the new symptoms.
Avatar n tn I dont think the generic version is any different from the actual Seasonique. I am on Seasonique and am now on my second three month pack. I started breakthrough bleeding/spotting roughly into my third week of the first pack and pretty much have been bleeding since, (so a little over two months) It has been annoying to say the least, because in this whole time, I have maybe COMPLETELY stopped bleeding for 2-3 days.
Avatar f tn I only took seasonique for 6 months. It took me over a year to get my cycle and for the past 3 years i have been trying to get pregnant again, It's as if I have become infertile. I never went through any of the side effects.
Avatar m tn Hi, I recently switched from Yazmine to Seasonique. I just started my 3rd week of the Seasonique and weighed myself today and I am 5 pounds heavier than I was last month at the same time (5 pounds is a very big deal to me). Anyway, has anyone had a similar reaction to Seasonique or did I just eat too much this month?
Avatar m tn I had unprotected sex on the 13th day of my seasonique pill pack, (when i would normally be ovulating) then freaked out and took plan b. what are the chances that i could still be pregnant? (My last period was may 20th, i began taking seasonique on the 4th day of my period as instructed by my dr., the sex was on the 5th.
727136 tn?1231182664 Third time was the charm but I was left with nerve damage at this point and for those with nerve pain - think shingles or diabetic neuropathy in your lower left pelvis vs. your extremities! I take Lyrica, which helps some. Ultram ER, which does nothing and Vicodin as needed - but feel like a drug addict when getting refills at Dr. Pain Mgmt. Dr. tried a stim implant and it didn't help - due to the location - he said it was the hardest to treat - imagine my joy! Not!
1699847 tn?1306967171 I have been on the pill for years now. I am currently on Ortho-tri-cyclen-lo and I am thinking about switching to Seasonique so I won't get 12 periods a year. I want to be on a pill that won't make me gain weight or give me major acne. Any tips/help.
Avatar f tn I am taking seasonique and when i was on my 6/7 th wk I started bleeding for three wks. And then I never had my period on the blue pills. Now on my second pack and it's my 7 th wk and I'm spotting again. What could this be and is this normal?
Avatar f tn Both my daughters (15 and 17) want to go on Seasonique....neither are sexually active, but have heavy periods. Any advise.
Avatar f tn Can you get pregnant on seasonique? the doc told me it keeps my body from producing an egg and gives me a false period......
Avatar f tn After maybe a year of that, I went onto Yaz [the brand name not generic] and was on that for a full year hoping stronger hormones would help control cramps more, with not much hope. But now for the past two years I have been on Seasonique [brand name again] and I am pleased mostly because it allows me 4 periods of year [translates into 4 weeks of hell a year lol] instead of 12.
Avatar f tn I've only been taking seasonique for 7 weeks today. The slip I got with the pills said to take the 1st pill on the Sunday after you start your period, even if you are still bleeding. I did that and sense than I haven't stopped bleeding. It's going on 8 weeks of continuous bleeding. Some days its light, some days its..not so light. So i guess my question is have anybody else experienced this long of bleeding after starting seasonique?
Avatar f tn I've finally found a doctor that takes me seriously and agrees that I have all the classic symptoms of endo. Along with a family history and during the exam she thought she felt the "bands" where it had attached itself. Of course the only way to be sure is surgery but she wants to do the less envasive first......birthcontrol. I really like my new doctor but I can't help but be nervous about the side effects.
Avatar f tn My gynocologist put me on the 3 month birth control pill, Seasonique, after my hemmorhagic cyst ruptured. If normally it can take 1 or 2 period cycles for the pains to go away, does being on a 3 month pill change the time frame or, should I still expect the pain to last for another 1 to 2 months?
Avatar f tn Hi! To give some background...I started seasonique in Jan. 2011. It is now December 2011...so almost a full year. My first three months, I had no cycle for about a month and a half. Than, I started to show some spotting...it continued for the remainder of the 3 month pack. So for roughly about 1 and a half months I spotted...sometimes light sometimes heavy.
Avatar f tn I have been on birth control for the past three years, I was on yasmin for two years and had severe headaches and was then put on seasonique. I tried to stick it out with the seasonique but I just recently got so fed up with the depression and symptoms I stopped taking it all together. I had NO sex drive on seasonique and now I have a healthy one again but I want to find a birth control that does not take away my sex drive or make me depressed. I was thinking maybe ortho tri cylcen low.
Avatar f tn Hi I am 5 days late with no sign of my period anywhere.
Avatar n tn Well, 2 months ago i was switched from Yasmin 28 to Seasonique birth control and within 3 wks, all the symptoms i had been having became 10x worse. In addition other symptoms started appearing: irritability, intolerance to stress, insomnia, tremors and nervousness (this was the worse symptom), shortness of breath, double vision and eyes that were puffy. I went to my doctor but he keeps saying it's anxiety attacks which i disagree with.
