Common Questions and Answers about Yaz vs iud

yaz

Avatar f tn Thank you for the information, I really not in position want to try BCP anymore, and Yaz is one of BCP, I want to use IUD but I heard that if you just had D&C and then use IUD, you will feel pain in your stomach. I will try to ask my obgyn on my next visit.
Avatar f tn A copper IUD shouldn't have any effect on MS. If I were still in need of birth control, (I'm post menopausal, now) I'd use an IUD. Yaz wound up giving me a clot in my leg. :O Your English is great!
911052 tn?1242791283 So I was on the marina IUD for two years and I just got it taken out on the 24th of April. The day I got it taken out I started taking the pill (Yaz). I didn't wait seven days to have sex nor did I have protected sex with a condom within those days. I have been feeling very moody and tired lately and have been eating more than I usually do and have been having food cravings. I have also been bloated.
Avatar f tn I hate to second guess my doctor, but I am wondering how a lower dose can do better for me than Yaz? Also, I have been extremely depressed since a month or two after starting Yaz, and I turned down anti-depressants in hopes that a new medication will help with that. Does anyone know anything about personal experiences with loestrin 24 and depression?
Avatar n tn Which birth control pill would you reccommend that has less likely hood of causing reduced libido? I tried the Yaz pill and had to go off it after 6 days because I had no desire what so ever for having sex as well as other problems with it. Please help this is a big part of our relationship. Not the major one but a very big part and I can't stand the loss of thiis feeling.
869854 tn?1239978206 I just started to take yasmin not yaz and hope this helps me. I have been off the pill for years. I had no luck with the copper iud for 4 years hormone free but the bleeding never go less and the duration never did either. The nuva ring made me depressed tried that for 4 mnths after the iud. I am 39 and my hormones are changing greatly my which they say can happen at this age. my normal periods all my life are changing to every 21 day last period came 109 days later. My GYNsuggeseted the pill.
Avatar f tn i have two ovarian cysts one 3cm and the other slightly smaller, i was already on mirena an iud and now put on yaz to for birth control to shrink the cysts but now my breast are swelling really bad, what should i look out for as for complications, is this safe?
Avatar f tn MY ENDO HAS MADE MY HORMONES GOOFY...SO DOCTOR PUT ME ON YAZ..I AM NOW SEEING ALOT OF LAWSUITS BEING ADVERTISED FOR YAZ....SIDEEFFECTS BEING BLOOD CLOTS, PULMONARY ISSUES AND SO ON ....HAS ANYONE HAD ISSUES WITH YAZ AND WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT....WHAT CAN I ALSO DO FOR THE MOODS...ANY SUGGESTIONS...
Avatar m tn m unhappy with this so my OBGYN switched me to Zovia, which I do not like. My question is, could YAz and Topamax at 50-100mg, be taken together?
Avatar f tn I've always had good luck with Yaz and Yasmin. Yaz has fewer side effects and most people can tolerate it and it works. However- everyone's body is different, and until they get the hormone balance right, you could have spotting, etc. I can say, that most likely- there is a pill out there that you could tolerate. Good luck.
519035 tn?1348275773 How many of you have been successful at this time for your blood work. What birth control pills if any are you guys taking???? I am on yaz. but so far not helped with pms. I started pms'ing about three days ago blaming it on synthroid lol! i have extreme hot flashes, depression, mood swings, I feel like my body is out of control, which we already know it is! Thanks!
Avatar n tn I new it had to be the culprit. I never considered mirena, or, any iud for that matter, could cause weight gain because it does not go into the blood stream. Before this i was using Yaz and was steadily loosing weight on a good eating and exercise plan. I just went today, day 11 and had it removed. Does anyone know how long it will take to loose this weight? I can't believe the amount of weight i have gained in 10 days!! Any suggestions would be great!
Avatar f tn t put up with the pain associated with the IUD. Make that appointment with whoever put it in you and have the IUD taken out. Be well.
Avatar f tn The Mirena IUD has hormones. You will want another IUD that does not have hormones if you need to be on non-hormonal birth control.
976978 tn?1248769300 I meant unclear exactly what kind of thyroid problem -- ie thyroiditis vs hot nodule vs graves vs abnormal labs of uncertain significance......vs possible pituitary issue.... would see an endocrinologist to sort this out. It is an unusual situation to have consistently normal TSH/T4 and high T3.
Avatar m tn So, I am 21 and pregnant with my first child. I think I'm some where between 8-10 weeks(find out for sure tomorrow). I was taking the lo lestrogen pill for birth control, had a feeling something wasn't right....intense cramping, weird spotting, sore breasts,an obvious change in the way I was dreaming, etc. A friend suggested I take a pregnancy test and much to my surprise, it came out positive! To get to the real question, which birth control should I switch to after my baby is born?
Avatar f tn I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.
Avatar f tn I also have had a past of severe migrains and some have been highly affected by yaz and nuva rings.. so i was thinking a copper IUD would be the answer. I dont agree with not having my period, I want to keep things as regular as possible. I do plan to have kids later in life.. and im not worried about the heavy periods or cramps. does anyone have and advice.. recommendations or concerns that I should know about before I go for it?
Avatar n tn Second-- Yaz. Started taking it right after ortho-novum, worked great for first few months. Everything felt fine, until I began developing daily headaches and later had such depressing mood swings, I didn't know who I was. I was described as "a new person." Made things I love in life very miserable, and stopped taking it altogether at the end of March.
Avatar n tn May be but thats like 1 person out or every 100 people who get those symptoms. Yaz is ok too, but yaz has to be replaced every month and you replace it. Mirena, the gyno does it and any type of insurance covers it...
Avatar f tn Yaz is a combination birth control pill, so if taken as prescribed it will prevent ovulation from happening in the first place. I think that you missed the two pills close enough to your period start date, that you probably aren't pregnant, and the bleeding you experienced was likely your period. However, since you had unprotected sex and did miss two pills, there is still the possibility that you could be pregnant.
Avatar f tn I am 20 years old, not sexually active [never have been] and been on birth control for four years now. In case you are wondering why if I'm restraining from sex it's for medical issues, without the medication I have a period just about daily depending on how things are, very very heavy bleeding, cramps so bad i can barely walk, diarrheah [sp?], sickness making me not eat as much, just not any fun.
368785 tn?1270432283 im on the iud and when talking to my dr she said when going on or coming off you can have breakthrough bleeding like now i just got the iud i got my af 2-2-10 and now im bleeding pretty good and dr said it could start up my af early hope this helps what kind of pill are you on i have tried a lot of them might help to see if the same thing happened to me or other girls
Avatar n tn the same week i got my iud out, because the mirena causes cysts. i them started taking yaz and 6 weeks later the cyst is gone.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had any bad effects from using Yasmin birth control? I had my iud removed and the dr. put me on yasmin but before i start taking them i just wanted sme feedback... thank you...
Avatar f tn He wants to have a Merina IUD placed, and Yaz birth control orally to control the bleeding. He refuses to consider a partial hysterectomy, as did my prior OB-GYN. I have been stable in my bi-polar for close to 4 years now. Noted a downward change in stability now. What will happen to me on these new ones? I'm scared.
