Common Questions and Answers about Yaz vs alesse

yaz

Avatar m tn About 4 months ago, I switched from Alesse to Yaz. At the beginning of my most recent pack, I accidentally began using an old Alesse pack that I had forgot to throw out instead of Yaz. I discovered this 4 days in to the pack, and immediately switched back to Yaz as per my doctor's orders. My partner and I have been using the withdrawal method this month just to be sure, but I am worried that some ejaculate may have still come in contact with the outer parts of my genital area.
1927233 tn?1326670387 I once took Yaz (Yasmin) for a month and after discovering many small hard and very sensitive lumps in my breasts after one month, I stopped taking it. My doctor had no explaination. 5 years later, and I am trying birth control pills again (for various reasons). This is my first month on Diane-35. My breasts are extrememly tender and sensitive, putting on a bra is painful, and there are small hard lumps in my breast. Are these side effects normal? Are they dangerous?
Avatar f tn I had been on Yaz low dose for 2 years but for the last 23 no period. Went to the Dr 10 weeks ago and was put on Alesse. After 1 pack still no period so I decided to go off BCP until I get a natural period. 6 Weeks later and still nothing. Went to the bathroom Saturday and had pink mucousy discharge but I wiped til it was gone (4 wipes) thinking maybe that would be the start of my period and still 3 days later NOTHING!!
Avatar m tn lube (water base, silicon, natural), 2 pap test (doctor suggest yeast infection pills since high amount of yeast, after 6 months no change), condoms (latex and latex free), no condom, multiple birth control pills (alesse, yaz, ect. now on alesse), different positions, others I can't remember at the moment.
Avatar n tn Second-- Yaz. Started taking it right after ortho-novum, worked great for first few months. Everything felt fine, until I began developing daily headaches and later had such depressing mood swings, I didn't know who I was. I was described as "a new person." Made things I love in life very miserable, and stopped taking it altogether at the end of March.
976978 tn?1248769300 I meant unclear exactly what kind of thyroid problem -- ie thyroiditis vs hot nodule vs graves vs abnormal labs of uncertain significance......vs possible pituitary issue.... would see an endocrinologist to sort this out. It is an unusual situation to have consistently normal TSH/T4 and high T3.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.
Avatar n tn Alesse to control my irregular menstrual cycle and iron for anemia. Since March, my weight loss has stalled, even though I am still counting calories and burning five hundred calories five days a week at the gym. Could the cause of the stall be either of the new meds?
Avatar f tn I would like to hear your opinions about Yaz/Yasmin Birth Control. Have you had any side effects? Has this pill been helpful to you? I have dedicated a support group website for women and girls who have previously or currently taking Yaz/Yasmin Birth Control. Please take a moment to view webiste, YazForum and post your experience while taking this medication. We need to hear your stories to make others aware of this birth control.
Avatar f tn Any comments? I am about to switch from alesse to yasmin but I am nervous because there have been many birth control pills that give me uncontrollable mood swings, anxiety and depression. Alesse has been okay for me, not the best, but ok. Does anyone else experience this when they take birth control pills? I think that it is related very closely to PCOS.
727136 tn?1231182664 Third time was the charm but I was left with nerve damage at this point and for those with nerve pain - think shingles or diabetic neuropathy in your lower left pelvis vs. your extremities! I take Lyrica, which helps some. Ultram ER, which does nothing and Vicodin as needed - but feel like a drug addict when getting refills at Dr. Pain Mgmt. Dr. tried a stim implant and it didn't help - due to the location - he said it was the hardest to treat - imagine my joy! Not!
Avatar f tn Alesse should work fine, as should a bunch of other brands. You have a bunch of options to choose from, and Alesse is as good as any (although some people work better with some brands than with others).
Avatar n tn I used to take the Alesse combo pill for years until I got sick even had a brain clot. I was on blood thinners for a whole year and my dr. said as soon as i decide i felt comfortable enough to stop the thinners i could BUT id have to stop taking alesse and switch to the mini pills.
Avatar n tn i have same problem .can i use alesse instead for acne?

Avatar m tn If you asking on behalf of a female contemplating the use of the contraceptive product called YAZ or already using YAZ, please tell her that YAZ has been found to be a questionable product for birth control. By questionable , this is what I mean. I have seen commercials where lawyers are telling women who have used YAZ and have suffered severe side effects from using YAZ that they are entitled to a settlement. I conclude that the product YAZ can , in some cases, cause severe side effects.
Avatar f tn I was on yaz for a few years, and then I switched. The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.
1310992 tn?1274217387 I would stop taking Yaz definately! There is lots of bad things going on with Yaz it could be counteracting with the Prozac also..im surprised the Dr has not took you off! I hope we dont scare you more but you really need to do research on Yaz and give it to your parents and Dr! Good luck sweety and keep us updated please!
Avatar f tn and went from 101 to 116 lbs. After the first two cycles of being on Yaz, I gained a cup size. I feel bloated ALL the time, and look it too, all through my cycles, and more so when I have my period. Even after lifestyle changes (more exercising, watching calorie intake) it still feels like there's a layer of puffiness and bloating covering my whole body! Anyone have any suggestions?! Help please, this is starting to make me feel miserable.
178590 tn?1294176767 I stopped yaz for a month then started it again. I also had the same symptom after starting yaz again. My doctor change my birth control bill back to Ortho Tri- Cycle Lo this month.
Avatar f tn One minute I am on top of the world with a ton of energy and the next I want to climb in a hole. I started on Yaz birth control about 4 months ago. The last two months my moodiness has been worse than usual. After reading other people's experiences with yaz, I am starting to think my feelings are linked to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. Has anyone experienced similar feelings while taking Yaz?
Avatar m tn I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Alesse 28 for almost a year now, but in the past few months I'm having some weird things going on. I missed my period last pack, and it was the first time this had happened to me while on the pills. (I had a blood pregnancy test done and it was negative by the way) But after the missed periods, my nipples have gotten so sensitive it hurts when anything is brushed against them! I've never had this before. More veins have also appeared in my breasts.
