Yaz for perimenopause

Common Questions and Answers about Yaz for perimenopause

yaz

Avatar n tn I was prescribed Lexapro for mood and maxalt for headache by PCP ( have been on numerous triptans for the last ten years for good control) When my perimenopausal symptoms began to increase hot flashes, sleep difficulties and mood, I was placed on Yaz. It has overall been great. Controlled by anxiety except for right before menses.
Avatar f tn I'm 44 and have been very irregular with my periods for the last few years. I'm on the pill (Yaz) and never miss any. I'm still irregular on the pill even though my GYN put me on it to try and regulate me. I sometimes get my period during the "active" pills and not during the "inactive" pills. My cycle would last anywhere from 3 days to 14 days and would be very light to severe. The last day of my last period was May 1st. I haven't had a period since then.
405998 tn?1222396217 I don't know about using Yaz to shrink cysts, but I was on Yaz for years until I eventually had breakthrough bleeding and had to stop. Yaz was the only birth control pills that didn't make me feel crazy from mood swings or depression. I see those lawyer ads on TV also, but I really liked Yaz.
Avatar f tn also you dont mention your age,,,night sweats can be cause by hormone imabalance from menopause or perimenopause,,,also thyroid conditions coud expalin some symptoms.....
Avatar n tn m new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.
Avatar f tn s when he said he was going to remove it but I had all the signs of endo, not complications from that. He put me on Yaz and I was regular for about 2 months. Since then, my symptoms have returned only worse. I finally went back today and they still strongly suspect it. I am waiting out a surgery to see if any hormone therapy will do the trick because I have to pay out of pocket. The doctor wants me to try loestrin 24 for 3 months. My question is, does anyone have experience with both?
Avatar f tn I would definatly consult your family physician or your OBGYN about a suitable birth control for you. I took Yaz a few months ago for a short period of time(just a week and a half) and it messed with my emotions and feeling like crazy. I strongly suggest you don't use Yaz. I still don't feel like myself even though I am off the pill. If you like being happy, don't use Yaz, please, its not worth it. I have not heard many good things about Yaz since I have taken it.
Avatar f tn It's probably the pills you're on. I was on yaz for a few years, and then I switched. The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Yaz for about 4 months now. I am almost ready to go to the doctor for my depression and anxiety. Then, I started researching my pill (Yaz) and have found that these symptoms are likely related to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?
Avatar f tn I too have been taking Yaz for 5 cycles now and I have experienced the same bloating you are talking about. I am a very athletic person and I run almost 70 miles a week. Before Yaz I was skinny 5'3 110lbs and I didn't have much of a tummy at all.I am still the same weight but now I look almost pregnant, and i am positive i am not, but my stomach sticks out so much from bloating and it is making me miserable as well. I just want it to go away.
Avatar f tn I've always had good luck with Yaz and Yasmin. Yaz has fewer side effects and most people can tolerate it and it works. However- everyone's body is different, and until they get the hormone balance right, you could have spotting, etc. I can say, that most likely- there is a pill out there that you could tolerate. Good luck.
178590 tn?1294176767 I stopped yaz for a month then started it again. I also had the same symptom after starting yaz again. My doctor change my birth control bill back to Ortho Tri- Cycle Lo this month.
Avatar f tn I see from the MedHelp drug database that Yaz is actually prescribed sometimes for depression -so that can only mean it does effect your emotions. I think this is a doctor question, so I hope you will ask about it -and tell us what you learn. Medhelp has a very thorough drug database. To get to it, enter the name of any drug in the search box at the upper right of your screen and click "Go.
Avatar m tn I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together.
Avatar f tn Before these 5 months I was on Yaz for about a year i believe and i never had these symptoms...only this time around.
Avatar f tn I was just wondering a) if anybody else has felt sick on Yaz; b) if going off it helped; and c) how long it took for the pill to get out of your system? Thanks for any help. (I'm 18).
1310992 tn?1274217387 I would stop taking Yaz definately! There is lots of bad things going on with Yaz it could be counteracting with the Prozac also..im surprised the Dr has not took you off! I hope we dont scare you more but you really need to do research on Yaz and give it to your parents and Dr! Good luck sweety and keep us updated please!
Avatar n tn m on my period it increased it by 3 days, with horrible cramping. Yaz was the strangest for me though. My hormones were very much out of wack, and had absolutely no sex drive whatsoever! I would not recommend it. I have had several friends (4) try Yaz as well and had many problems. Hopefully you have called a doctor about your rash though. I've not heard of anyone breaking out in rashes.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've been taking Yaz for about two months now, but recently I forgot to take it a few days ago. My friend told me that if I miss a day I can just take two the next day. I did and later on I noticed I was spotting. I did read that it is very common for something like that to happen but for me it seemed like i was having my period. I wanted it to stop so I decided I was going to stop taking it.
Avatar n tn The product YAZ has made some women very sick. Tell her to google YAZ and she can see for herself. As far as the odds she is pregnant, and you not using a condom and saying you may have come a little inside, and pulled out 97% of the climax, hopefully not. I wish you well.
Avatar f tn Well I took Yaz for 3 months and at the end my fiancee kindly asked me to switch, because I was so depressed and crying over everything. My body hurt so much also, headaches, stomach, then I started asking my girlfriends about it - all of them that tried it, got off it very quickly. But it might effect you differently..
Avatar f tn I took Ortho-tricyclyn for 7 years and decided to switch to yaz only because Ortho-tricyclyn made me moody and crazy only 1 week out of the month(big mistake on switching). Well I took Yaz for 2 years and stopped taking it in July of 2009. Suddenly all of the these symptoms happen to me anxiety, rapid heart beat, numbness and tingling after stopping yaz. I became numb, shaky, and pale at work shortly after that and they had to call 911. They told me I was having an anxiety attack.
