869854 tn?1239978206 Last week i was also prescribed yazmin but i had wanted yaz but my doctor told me it is the same thing. And I would get the same effects of it. I have had many of friend try this pill and have gotten great results. So i hope this question help and good luck!!!
Avatar n tn I have heard about Yaz and Yasmin causing more of a risk for blood clots in women....BUT (yes there is a but) almost all birth control pills can cause blood clots especialy if you have had them before, or have had a family history of them. If your nurse wants you to switch to a genric then you can still take Yasmin (but it would be Ocella). It's the same thing.
Avatar n tn m new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.
Avatar f tn I am almost ready to go to the doctor for my depression and anxiety. Then, I started researching my pill (Yaz) and have found that these symptoms are likely related to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?
Avatar f tn s nurse suggested I try Yaz. She said it was about the same thing and I get shorter periods. At first I felt good, but around the second pack I started getting horrible headaches, my periods would stretch out to a week instead of a few days, I would breakout, and I had terrible mood swings. Interestingly enough, my best friend started getting the same symptoms as me after taking Yaz and she hadn't even been on birth control before, so I had the feeling we probably weren't alone.
Avatar m tn I am going through the same thing right now. I have been on Yaz for over a half a year. I'm not sure if it is the Yaz causing it or something else. I dont know of Yaz having that sort of a side effect. Sorry I cant help much.
Avatar f tn I have taken Yasmin(same as Yaz) and generic forms of it for several years, now. I take them continuously, so I never go off the active pills, to repress my periods. They have helped my moods, helped my PMDD, and cleared up my face. I occasionally have breakthrough bleeding and so I go off of the pills for a week when that happens, and have a period. My periods have always been horrible and clotty and painful. Same when I have them now. I have about 2 a year, and that is perfectly fine.
1313343 tn?1274833215 and its YASMIN im talken about YAZ and YASMIN are 2 different birth control pills!
Avatar f tn 3-4 different kinds of pills, the patch, the shot and I had terrible side effects for all of those including worse pains, numbness, and my entire leg and arm tingling and going numb. But on Yaz there were no side effects and all my cysts were gone. But remember, everyone is different. Hope this was helpful!
Avatar n tn I am on my second week of Yaz-put on it for really bad PMS and extremely heavy periods. (When my period came back after having my daughter and nursing her for a year, my PMS symptoms got progressively worse each month.) Now, on YAZ, I am having mood swings from extreme calm to extreme anxiety (close to full blown panic attack) and back again. I am easily irritated and have had heart palpatations since the second day on this medicine.
484167 tn?1210001396 ok i need some help here...i was on yaz for about 10 months when my periods started going hay-wire...like i would get a period in the middle of my cycle and not get my period while taking the"reminder pills"...my dr. gave me yasmin since i guess the level of estrogen is a little stronger...i have been taking it for over a week...i feel pregnant. my body feels just like it did when i was pregnant and i don't remember feeling this way at all when i started the yaz almost a year ago.
Avatar n tn I am also being tested for this! and I am on Yasmin. They told me to think about switching because this one can caused an elevated heart rate, which I have. I'm probably going to go off of this pill soon, just in case, and start on a new one.
Avatar m tn i had the same problems with Yaz. I was on yasmin and when asking for more from my doctor she accidenty wrote yas...not yasmine so i tried it for a few months. it was horrible. I become very depressed and moody, gained weight, had bad acne, and become very paranoid. I switched to levora which i've been on ever since ( 3yrs). My symptoms all went away once i stopped taking Yaz. I'm not sure if it would take 4 months of your hormones to regulate...
Avatar m tn I've been taking Topamax 50mg-100mg daily and I have been also taking Yasmin. The two were told to me to be ineffective when used together, so I've been using a back up method of condoms. I'm unhappy with this so my OBGYN switched me to Zovia, which I do not like. My question is, could YAz and Topamax at 50-100mg, be taken together?
Avatar n tn I agree with stella5349 regarding the use of birth control pills. Birth control pills are powerful drugs. Do a web search using he terms "Yaz and lawsuits" - scary! Same for Fosamax and other so-called bone-building drugs Boniva, Actonel etc...once used for agricultural purposes and now in human bodies. Doctors will often say that side the effects you experience after starting a drug are not related to the drug. MIne did.
1761691 tn?1313171747 I want to stop using ortho tricyclin lo and switch to yasmin. I just started ortho a week ago but want to stop because the side effects I cant take anymore. (I have given it 3 months). When can I start Yasmin? Do I have to wait for my period?
Avatar n tn i am on yaz and i am supposed to start my white pills in two days..today i saw some blood in my underwear what could this mean? is this normal?
1051017 tn?1349636853 I was on Yaz for about 2 years and during my first and second month I had alot of nausea. After the third month basically all of my symptoms went away. But make sure to keep track of them because alot of side effects have come about. I went off for fertility's sake. I have pmdd and Yaz completely cured me of all my horrible side effects.
Avatar f tn I started later then i usually do and never done that and my period was really light and its usually heavy and it only lasted 2 days and never done that either. And now 3 days later im spotting brown stuff. And i have had the most migraines and never get headaches and ive had heartburns really bad. And my stomach has been killing me badly.
473222 tn?1214439873 Reading all of the posts on another part of this forum elated to yasmin and yaz is very scary. My life has been seriously affected by taking yasmin for four years. If I only knew back then what I know now. Please consider the long term effects of taking any birth control pill, not just yasmin or yaz. They primarily work by putting your ovaries to sleep. The pill shuts down your own natural production of hormones and replaces them with lab manufactured hormones.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had any bad effects from using Yasmin birth control? I had my iud removed and the dr. put me on yasmin but before i start taking them i just wanted sme feedback... thank you...
Avatar n tn Although the pill does prevent pregnancy it still happens. However if you have been gradually becoming more irregular it could just be the pill itself. I read some posts on other forums about women getting pregnant while on yaz but I'm not sure how common it is. I was on yaz for a year and a few months (just stopped taking it recently) and had awful side effects while on the pill and from stopping it.
Avatar n tn t suggest skipping it for 4 months in a row on Yasmin. Your bleeding now because your body is backed up, and when you skip your period (for that long) you increase your chances of having breakthrough bleeding and spotting. Why were you skipping your period? Is it that bad you can't deal with it for a few days out of the month?
Avatar f tn ve been on birth control pills for 6 years, trionetta, yasminelle and yasmin, and since i stopped taking them I feel a lot better, but I still want some sort of birth control, just not too much hormones, have anyone of you tried or know about copper iud and ms?
