yaz

869854 tn?1239978206 Yaz and Yasmin are different. They work the same, but they are still different pills.
Avatar f tn I see that the one hormone is the same but the other ethinylestradiol in YAz is 0.02 and in Yasmin is 0.03. What does this mean and is it safe to give her?
Avatar n tn I have PCOS and have been on Yasmin BCP for like 6 years to control my PCOS symptoms. The reproductive endocrinologist told me Yasmin is the gold standard for PCOS patients because the drospirenone works best in mitigating the symptoms of high testosterone like acne and hair growth. Well my gyn nurse practitioner called and I guess there is new evidence out that Yasmin is causing causes more blood clots than other BCPs, and this is a risk that increases as you get older.
Avatar n tn m new to the community, see you posted last month. I was on Yasmin, I think its related to Yaz but not the same for about two years. I had some really odd symptoms with Yasmin and begged my dr to take me off of it, since then I was on Apri, which is just generic desogen.
Avatar f tn No they are not the same. Yasmin or Ocella is a lower dose of birth conrtol, while Yaz is prescribed more often to those who suffer from PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder). Yasmin is one of the best birth control pills out there for those who suffer with PCOS. I've been on it for 2 years, with a break of 6 months. I just started a new pill pack this month again. I too suffer from migraines, but the pill does not give me any.
Avatar f tn I too have been taking Yaz for 5 cycles now and I have experienced the same bloating you are talking about. I am a very athletic person and I run almost 70 miles a week. Before Yaz I was skinny 5'3 110lbs and I didn't have much of a tummy at all.I am still the same weight but now I look almost pregnant, and i am positive i am not, but my stomach sticks out so much from bloating and it is making me miserable as well. I just want it to go away.
Avatar f tn I am almost ready to go to the doctor for my depression and anxiety. Then, I started researching my pill (Yaz) and have found that these symptoms are likely related to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?
Avatar m tn Hello there, I've heard from more than one source that the bc pill Yaz also sold as Yasmin, same stuff, is dangerous. If Yaz is causing you to be depressed, with panic attacks and anxiety, I would suggest getting of Yaz altogether, with the help of your family doctor. Wouldn't even finish the end of the package of Yaz. I've heard it can cause blood clots. Seeing as you had unprotected sex with your boyfriend, this would be a good time for a doctor's visit. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Also, despite eating and exercising the same as pre-Yaz, I have gained 8 pounds (during the first month) and cannot lose it even with decreasing my calories and exercising more. I also normally only gain weight in my butt but now have back fat and love handles. I normally do not gain weight in my stomach and it is so bloated, I look pregnant even with sucking it in. I truly feel the most disgusting ever! I hope that the 8 pounds comes off easily after stopping the Yaz.
Avatar m tn I am going through the same thing right now. I have been on Yaz for over a half a year. I'm not sure if it is the Yaz causing it or something else. I dont know of Yaz having that sort of a side effect. Sorry I cant help much.
484167 tn?1210001396 i couldn't stand these side effects so i went ahead and switched back to yaz...i can't stand feeling preganant all the time which is exactly the way the yasmin made me feel...there are too many different brands of the pill to have one of them make you feel like ****. there are a lot of options...
Avatar n tn Search the literature for the Phase I clinical trials on the drugs- this drug caused pheochromocytomas in animals during early clinical trials...
Avatar m tn I've been taking Topamax 50mg-100mg daily and I have been also taking Yasmin. The two were told to me to be ineffective when used together, so I've been using a back up method of condoms. I'm unhappy with this so my OBGYN switched me to Zovia, which I do not like. My question is, could YAz and Topamax at 50-100mg, be taken together?
Avatar m tn i had the same problems with Yaz. I was on yasmin and when asking for more from my doctor she accidenty wrote yas...not yasmine so i tried it for a few months. it was horrible. I become very depressed and moody, gained weight, had bad acne, and become very paranoid. I switched to levora which i've been on ever since ( 3yrs). My symptoms all went away once i stopped taking Yaz. I'm not sure if it would take 4 months of your hormones to regulate...
Avatar n tn why was I stuck on YAZ? Anyway, are these symptoms dangerous? Should I really wait out the month or would that be risky? To me, anything to do with the heart isn't something to mess with. I'm also very atheletic and and worried about the palps + exercise.
1313343 tn?1274833215 and its YASMIN im talken about YAZ and YASMIN are 2 different birth control pills!
Avatar n tn That sounds weird to me... I've been on Yasmin for just under two years now, and I've only ever missed two periods. Since my body got used to the pill, my periods are four days at the longest. I'd say keep taking it until your next period and if anything weird happens between now and then, go see your doctor. Good luck.
Avatar f tn after i stoped taken yasmin my stomach issues have gone away! i was in the hospital with ivs in me and cat scans etc... dont get yasmin there are reports of it on the internet etc. that product is going to be no longer sold as a birth control product. I was on yasmin for like 4 years and by the 3rd year i started having stomach pains and issues with my stomach. It has been on the news and in papers and on line about organ issues!!!!!! i repeat do not get yasmin.
Avatar n tn The basic hormones are the same in both brands, but not the compounds that make up the pill. The FDA actually made them change their information to reflect the difference in ingredients. I guess I am just more sensitive to these particular pills. Between the issues I am having and all of the negative information out there about Yaz, I am just going to stop taking the pill all together. I have been on it for 15 years. I think my body could use a break!
1761691 tn?1313171747 as for the Yasmin, it gave me horrible migraines and I kept on vomiting every time I took it. if ur sure about the Yasmin pills then I'd recommend that u wait until u finish ur ortho first to avoid unnecessary bleeding. Good luck!
Avatar n tn i am on yaz and i am supposed to start my white pills in two days..today i saw some blood in my underwear what could this mean? is this normal?
1051017 tn?1349636853 Also I do smoke but am currently trying to give up. Since starting Yasmin, the smell of smoke and smoking itself has become nauseating. Thats also another one to add. Nausea and hot flashes. Also I've lost some of my sense of taste. Everything is very bland or dosn't taste of anything at all. Has anyone else experienced symptoms like these?
Avatar n tn i have been on yasmine pill for the last four months and the weeks i supose to get my periods for the last four months, i have kept taking the pill- im not sure wat time in the month my period is due now! is it dangerous or bad to keep taking the pill when im suppose to get my periods ? i have been getting spots of bleeding for the last 2 weeks now! i would be grateful for any advice on this topic?
Avatar f tn If you can, make an appointment with your gynocologist to see if she can run a blood panel on you and possibly an internal ultrasound. Otherwise, the other diagnosis that came to mind was PMDD. Yasmin and Yaz are both known for helping treat PMDD and that could possibly be why it was working for you so well while taking it. Now that you're off of it, all of your symptoms are returning.
Avatar n tn I had 2 shots of Depo Provera and NOW I have just about every symptom of hypothyroid. I go back in a few days to get my test results. I'm so nervous they will tell me nothing is wrong with me, but I'm not imagining these symptoms. I've been dealing with them for awhile now b/c I blamed all the symptoms on the Depo shot. But I've been off the shot for 3 months and my symptoms are getting worse rather than better, so I don't think it's the shot.
Avatar n tn Thanks. It was just that I ate too late...I'm not sick. I usually eat by 5:00 pm and ate at about 8 pm that night because I was busy, so I think I just ate too late. And I'm not on Yaz, I'm on Yasmin. It's different. They say it can affect the pill, but I think that might mean if you go a lot? Hopefully it's okay and thanks for your help!
