yaz and triglycerides

My 16yo dd, recently had some blood work. TSH 3.2 (.45-4.5), T4 12.7 (4.5-12) and T3 uptake 17 (23-35). Incidentally she has been on Yaz for 4 years for excess androgens. Recently, her cholesterol(280) and triglycerides(244) have gone thru he roof. She doesn't drink or smoke, is not over weight and rarely drinks a soda. She has been complaining of being dizzy and has lost a ton of hair. My mother has hashimotos hypothyroid. Does this sound thyroid related?

Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. I have also been on and off birth control over the years, most recently getting off of the pill (Yaz) 1.5 months ago. In overall good health, very active, currently training for a sprint triathlon. I have read varying information about these lesions. From being harmless and progressing with age and/or hormone changes (pregnancy, birth control, etc), to being a possible sign of an internal malignancy.

Since I had been taking the Yaz for almost two months straight (I skipped my period by not taking the placebo pills) do you think this changes the possibility of me being unprotected?

i have two ovarian cysts one 3cm and the other slightly smaller, i was already on mirena an iud and now put on yaz to for birth control to shrink the cysts but now my breast are swelling really bad, what should i look out for as for complications, is this safe?

m just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with panic and anxiety as a result of yaz? And have you found that it even got worse when you took yourself off of it? Just today I am now feeling tenderness of my nipples, is that common too? Does anyone know how long it will take to get out of my system? Also my libido had depleted to nothing, how long should it take for that to come back?

I am a 49 year old female in perimenopause. I have a history of migraines since starting my menses at age 13 years old. Been in perimenopause for the last 4 years. Four years ago began having panic attacks-one occurred during visit with GYN. I was place on low dose niravan for anxiety.

I wondering if anyone knows when your on the Yaz birth control pill if you can skip your period for the month? I was on Ortho tri- lo another pill and I was able to but I am now on Yaz. Please let me know if you have done this or KNOW for sure!

m unhappy with this so my OBGYN switched me to Zovia, which I do not like. My question is, could YAz and Topamax at 50-100mg, be taken together?

This year my triglycerides were at 535, I stopped taking a med and they went down to 212 over 3 last 3 months. My last lipid panel showed triglycerides 212, Cholesterol 191, LDL 122 and HDL 26. Results in 2020 were roughly the same numbers. I don’t really go to a General Practitioner unless it’s an emergency, do I need to see one regarding the slightly elevated triglycerides and the really low HDL? Would rather not go if not necessary. These numbers were fasting from Midnight on.

October 15 - Started YAZ, also my first day of period (4 days light period only) November 10 - Period came November 11 - Last day of YAZ (first pack) November 12 - First pill of second pack of YAZ very heavy bleeding November 13 VERY HEAVY BLEEDING November 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 Regular bleeding Nov19- 27 light bleeding Nov 28 bleeding gone I went to my OB November 24 and advised me to take my remaining YAZ 3x a day.

The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.

I just started my yaz again after being off it for 3 months. and I just got my new contacts on Thursday. WEll last night I was wearing them and they were really dry and blurry. I read the little booklet that comes with the Yaz and It says to contact your doctor if you can't see using your contacts with your birth control. Why is this? Is it just because they become dry? Will eye drops help this?

Although the pill does prevent pregnancy it still happens. However if you have been gradually becoming more irregular it could just be the pill itself. I read some posts on other forums about women getting pregnant while on yaz but I'm not sure how common it is. I was on yaz for a year and a few months (just stopped taking it recently) and had awful side effects while on the pill and from stopping it.

I am almost ready to go to the doctor for my depression and anxiety. Then, I started researching my pill (Yaz) and have found that these symptoms are likely related to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?

Hey guys! It's Danielle and I stopped taking Yaz about two months ago, and I feel fantastic. The weight is going away slowly but surely, and my periods, although slightly irregular, have been better. I'm a bit more moody than before, Yaz always made me feel PMS when I shouldn't have though. Getting off the Yaz was the best thing I could have done!

However, I notice after talking yaz that I felt more depressed and had more anxiety then before. I had extreme mood swings and crying spells while taking yaz. I stopped yaz for a month then started it again. I also had the same symptom after starting yaz again. My doctor change my birth control bill back to Ortho Tri- Cycle Lo this month.
