yaz and synthroid

I did email them about the bleeding and they said it could be Synthroid and told me to take a 1/2 dose, which I have, but nothing has changed. I really don't think it's Synthroid as everything I have read says that it takes a while for Synthroid to start "helping" and it takes a few months for it to affect your menstrual cycle, so I really wouldn't suspect it to make any difference less than a week after starting it. Anybody has any ideas? Thanks.

I was diagnosed with hypothyrioidism about 4 years ago. I started with Synthroid dosage of .025mcg and then had it raised to .05mcg about a year later. My TSH levels have always remained in the normal range. (0.5-3.0). About a year and half ago i started taking Yasmin Birth Control and since then my TSH levels have flucated tremendously and they can't seem to regulate my thyriod.... I'm either taking too much Synthroid or not enough.

I am faithful about taking my Synthroid as soon as I awake. I get ready for work and then I pop my YAZ BC pill before I leave the house. All within an hour. My thyroid just went out of whack again and the Dr. just up me to 125 mcg. (originally started at .88 and then 100) I was thinking that BC probably has Iron in it and I shouldnt be taking it in the Am and maybe in the PM? Is there any truth to this? Thanks!

I take Bc and synthroid and have seen no side effects, They just tell me if I get pregnant to call immed to increase the synthroid. I get really short periods and thats all I have notice.

i take cytomel in the morning with my synthroid--and also again the afternoon. does cytomel have to be taken an our after synthroid? never heard that but just read that here? also i am getting different information about whether cytomel can be taken with food, or on an empty stomach. also i am on yaz birth control, which i take several hours after my cytomel--is that ok? please help.

t do well on Levo and they switch to Synthroid, which is yet another synthetic thyroid drug. Sometimes this works, but other times, using a dessicated thyroid mediation like Nature-Throid is the solution. Armour is another type of dessicated thyroid, but I wouldn't suggest them at this time because some people are having reactions to their new formula. I get terrible cramping in my legs, but I got it before the Synthroid.

Decided to treat me with Cytomel(T3) , Synthroid(T4 needs to be converted to T3 to work in your body) and can cause hair loos (side effect not many people are aware of). MY serum Iron was fine H&H was fine , my Ferritin level was little low but still within the normal range. She told me also to take some Iron which I did and within a short period of time I was fine, my hair loss had stopped.I was OK for about 3 years, until just recently my hair started to come out again.

Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Since I had been taking the Yaz for almost two months straight (I skipped my period by not taking the placebo pills) do you think this changes the possibility of me being unprotected?

i have two ovarian cysts one 3cm and the other slightly smaller, i was already on mirena an iud and now put on yaz to for birth control to shrink the cysts but now my breast are swelling really bad, what should i look out for as for complications, is this safe?

m just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with panic and anxiety as a result of yaz? And have you found that it even got worse when you took yourself off of it? Just today I am now feeling tenderness of my nipples, is that common too? Does anyone know how long it will take to get out of my system? Also my libido had depleted to nothing, how long should it take for that to come back?

m thinking these tests were useless due to the Yaz and that she needed the free levels checked but does the TSH look high? We have stopped the Yaz and will retest in a month or two. Thanks.

I am a 49 year old female in perimenopause. I have a history of migraines since starting my menses at age 13 years old. Been in perimenopause for the last 4 years. Four years ago began having panic attacks-one occurred during visit with GYN. I was place on low dose niravan for anxiety.

I wondering if anyone knows when your on the Yaz birth control pill if you can skip your period for the month? I was on Ortho tri- lo another pill and I was able to but I am now on Yaz. Please let me know if you have done this or KNOW for sure!

m unhappy with this so my OBGYN switched me to Zovia, which I do not like. My question is, could YAz and Topamax at 50-100mg, be taken together?

October 15 - Started YAZ, also my first day of period (4 days light period only) November 10 - Period came November 11 - Last day of YAZ (first pack) November 12 - First pill of second pack of YAZ very heavy bleeding November 13 VERY HEAVY BLEEDING November 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 Regular bleeding Nov19- 27 light bleeding Nov 28 bleeding gone I went to my OB November 24 and advised me to take my remaining YAZ 3x a day.

The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.

I just started my yaz again after being off it for 3 months. and I just got my new contacts on Thursday. WEll last night I was wearing them and they were really dry and blurry. I read the little booklet that comes with the Yaz and It says to contact your doctor if you can't see using your contacts with your birth control. Why is this? Is it just because they become dry? Will eye drops help this?

Although the pill does prevent pregnancy it still happens. However if you have been gradually becoming more irregular it could just be the pill itself. I read some posts on other forums about women getting pregnant while on yaz but I'm not sure how common it is. I was on yaz for a year and a few months (just stopped taking it recently) and had awful side effects while on the pill and from stopping it.

I am almost ready to go to the doctor for my depression and anxiety. Then, I started researching my pill (Yaz) and have found that these symptoms are likely related to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?
