For the past two months, a week after my period, I have been getting brown spotting. The night before the spotting occurs I get headaches and feel sick. I take my birth control (YAZ) as directed and I have been on it for about a year and a half. The spooting only last about a day or two, but I have never had it do this before. Is this normal? I have heard a lot of bad stuff about Yaz also, should I change birth control?
The one thing though I dont like about it is I have been spotting for about a week and a half now and it will stop, then come back again like 2 days later. I take it the same time everyday but it wont stop and I only missed taking it once. I think your better off taking something thats not Yaz just because there's so many woman that are facing these terrible side effects from it.
Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe.
I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill. The only thing that I have done probably incorrectly with pill use is only a couple of times I took it maybe an hour and a half/two hours late.
I’ve spotted quite often- not as badly as before.
I've always had good luck with Yaz and Yasmin. Yaz has fewer side effects and most people can tolerate it and it works. However- everyone's body is different, and until they get the hormone balance right, you could have spotting, etc. I can say, that most likely- there is a pill out there that you could tolerate.

I have kind of been on my period for about 2 1/2 weeks, except the last week and a half have been spotting. I've been on Yaz for over a year now...for an ovarian cyst....and this is very unusual. Also, for no explainable reason, my lower back has been killing me the past couple of days. It's absolutely excruciating.
Well she said that since I was already spotting some to go ahead and take the Yaz that night. I think now that the bleeding was from the Plan B and realized my period wasn't supposed to start until the following week. But I took the Yaz that night and called my dr. and told them I never got my period. She said to take a pregnancy test, which I did and it came back negative. So I still have not gotten my period. Did I miss it up by taking the Yaz a week before my period?
i had a little for the first time before my last period and then now i havent had my period for a week and a half and i got the the same thing but more now im on the generic version of yaz and it says there could be spotting is that blood with regular discharge or and infection? should i be worried?
I had my period around the end of the month and into the beginning of this month like normal. I started spotting around 2 weeks before my next period and its lasted about a week now. Its a brown discharge like color sometimes with little red blood and very small clots. I have tiny cramps sometimes. Is this normal? Why is this happening? Sometimes its heavy and I need a pad, and sometimes I just need a panty liner. This is really starting to weird me out and it getting annoying.
Last month I started to have some brown spotting between my periods. I didn't think much of it, but it seriously lasted from like...five days after the end of my period until the beginning of my next period. That worried me. But it went away after my most recent period ended, so I thought I was fine. But today I noticed it was starting up again. My period ended a week ago. What is going on?
I did email them about the bleeding and they said it could be Synthroid and told me to take a 1/2 dose, which I have, but nothing has changed.
I really don't think it's Synthroid as everything I have read says that it takes a while for Synthroid to start "helping" and it takes a few months for it to affect your menstrual cycle, so I really wouldn't suspect it to make any difference less than a week after starting it.

How can you gain weight if you have lost your appetite? I know that everytime I have lost my appetite I have lost a tremendous amount of weight. In the book that comes with Yaz it says that spotting may occur. Some of these pills work for some and some don't work for others. I have used Yaz and like it the best and my friend used it and it made her sick. It's too bad they didn't have a way to plug in your information and out pops an answer of what pill you should use.
Your bleeding now because your body is backed up, and when you skip your period (for that long) you increase your chances of having breakthrough bleeding and spotting. Why were you skipping your period? Is it that bad you can't deal with it for a few days out of the month? Possibly I would suggest to stop taking your pills for a month or two, to let your body have a period, and then start your pills again either on the sunday start or during your period.
I've been on Yaz for almost a month, and since the first day of my period when I started taking the pill, it hasn't stopped! I know I should expect irrigularity and spotting... but this like a normal period, that hasn't even slowed down. So I'm confused... is this normal?
Also I'm 17 and have never been on any form of birth control before.
Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. m not sure what the first one was but I know she switched to Yaz) at the beginning of this month. And let me say that no matter what, we always use a condom, her birth control pill, and I also use the withdrawal method. Now, at the end of the month, she came down with a case of strep throat and had to go on an antibiotic.
