yaz and menopause

I did not eat for over a month, just drank ensure and lost 30 lbs. I went to the doc and was treated for Anxiety/Depression with Zoloft and recently have been put on YAZ. I have very bad night sweats (wake up damp), no hot flashes, hair loss, dry skin, anxiety which gets worse before period, dry hair, itchy skin, temp has been running at 97, headaches were bad until I started taking YAZ, allergies which I have never had, etc. Anyone thinking this sounds like peri-menopause?

it may be the yaz... i was takin yaz and it kicked my butt.. i had to be takin off of it.. my mood swings and stuff were uncontrolable. if i were you i would check with your doc but alot of what your goin through sounds like me when i was on yaz... i have never taken meds for depression but while on yaz the dr said i might need it.. once i quit takn the yaz i was alot better and i mean alot..

I feel hopeless so she mentioned that studies have shown the pill and also anxiety and depression meds can help the hormonal changes and regulate my moods and newly changing menstural cycle. I was so looking forward to turning 40 up until 5 months ago when my mood just shifted.

two things popped right out and grabbed my attention achne from"menopause' and depression from "menopause" this causes me to conclude that your estridol is either nit the correct dose or not the right hrt for you...its not taking away your symptoms and the achne is a new one..my gut tells me you should have your hormone treatment adjusted try something new,,,,theres so many options..you can always try the Yaz as a last resort..but try getting the hrt right first..

How can you gain weight if you have lost your appetite? I know that everytime I have lost my appetite I have lost a tremendous amount of weight. In the book that comes with Yaz it says that spotting may occur. Some of these pills work for some and some don't work for others. I have used Yaz and like it the best and my friend used it and it made her sick. It's too bad they didn't have a way to plug in your information and out pops an answer of what pill you should use.

i take it continuously (no off days) and I think that this maybe may have something to do with the extra weight, because basically im telling my body im pregnant and/or going through menopause....it cleared up my skin after about 3 months, initially made it worse though because of the huge hormone shifts... my ladies have gotten a full cup size larger, but I will warn you that initially, they hurt like hell!!! even walking hurt, they were just constantly sore...they have gotten better though.

Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. Does anyone know if Loestrin 24 is effective for Endometriosis pain? I have constant pelvic and vaginal pain 24/7 and its HORRIBLE during my periods that I can't even get out of bed usually. My old gyno put me on YAZ continuously (with no sugar pills) for 4 months straight with no periods to see if the pain would calm down and id didn't and YAZ made me very swollen.

By this point you probably know whether or not your girlfriend is pregnant...but if she is not and she is still having these symptoms please tell her that it is VERY likely that it is the YAZ which is causing her to have her symptoms. I began taking it about 2 weeks ago and on the second week began to feel terrible anxiety, depression, nausea, headaches, weird breathing problems (apparently caused by too much estrogen), crying all the time, etc...

i have two ovarian cysts one 3cm and the other slightly smaller, i was already on mirena an iud and now put on yaz to for birth control to shrink the cysts but now my breast are swelling really bad, what should i look out for as for complications, is this safe?

m thinking these tests were useless due to the Yaz and that she needed the free levels checked but does the TSH look high? We have stopped the Yaz and will retest in a month or two. Thanks.

I am a 49 year old female in perimenopause. I have a history of migraines since starting my menses at age 13 years old. Been in perimenopause for the last 4 years. Four years ago began having panic attacks-one occurred during visit with GYN. I was place on low dose niravan for anxiety.

I wondering if anyone knows when your on the Yaz birth control pill if you can skip your period for the month? I was on Ortho tri- lo another pill and I was able to but I am now on Yaz. Please let me know if you have done this or KNOW for sure!

i was already HSV1 positive...could my lip been an infection with HSV-2?? is that possible to have both? and does HSV onset have these similar symptoms as to what i have described above? the reason i ask is because my symptoms seem much more mild than most of what i have read for hiv. i did not have a rash, no sores, no sore throat or cough (the cough...i could be wrong about...

October 15 - Started YAZ, also my first day of period (4 days light period only) November 10 - Period came November 11 - Last day of YAZ (first pack) November 12 - First pill of second pack of YAZ very heavy bleeding November 13 VERY HEAVY BLEEDING November 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 Regular bleeding Nov19- 27 light bleeding Nov 28 bleeding gone I went to my OB November 24 and advised me to take my remaining YAZ 3x a day.

The new pills made my period crazy, but yaz made it come the same time every month. However, yaz made my periods last longer, and I would bleed on and off for a week towards the end of using yaz.

I just started my yaz again after being off it for 3 months. and I just got my new contacts on Thursday. WEll last night I was wearing them and they were really dry and blurry. I read the little booklet that comes with the Yaz and It says to contact your doctor if you can't see using your contacts with your birth control. Why is this? Is it just because they become dry? Will eye drops help this?

Although the pill does prevent pregnancy it still happens. However if you have been gradually becoming more irregular it could just be the pill itself. I read some posts on other forums about women getting pregnant while on yaz but I'm not sure how common it is. I was on yaz for a year and a few months (just stopped taking it recently) and had awful side effects while on the pill and from stopping it.

I am almost ready to go to the doctor for my depression and anxiety. Then, I started researching my pill (Yaz) and have found that these symptoms are likely related to this pill. I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?
