You name it, I had it. My left ovary was enlarged to size of grapefruit, wrapped around my ureter and the artery nearby, then that was all plastered to my left pelvic side wall. I opted for total hys due to endo, etc. I have 1 happy, healthy boy - he's almost 10! Anyway, the Dr. told me the day after surgery that he had to "chisel" out all the tissue he could but I would have to have surgery again due to tissue growth - this time it would have to be with a GYN Oncologist.

Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. grapefruit makes your body metabolize the medicine faster and could result in overdose.

Several of my drugs (Lamictal, Seroquel, & Valium - at a minimum) interact w/ grapefruit. It's on all of the information that comes from the pharmacy and I didn't take it seriously until I got pretty toxic myself. I LOVE grapefruits & grapefruit juice and I miss them a lot. Wow looks like i should have read the warning label when my doc gave me to take them PRN or as necessary to re convert myself......okay i just went off of the site and read up on the label...they are telling us not to take it with the citrus because it effects how our body absorbs the Multaq for maximum performance of the med...if it were me and i had to take it on a daily basis i probably would stay away from all citrus drinks for sure because you want to give yourself the best shot possible...

i have two ovarian cysts one 3cm and the other slightly smaller, i was already on mirena an iud and now put on yaz to for birth control to shrink the cysts but now my breast are swelling really bad, what should i look out for as for complications, is this safe?

m just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with panic and anxiety as a result of yaz? And have you found that it even got worse when you took yourself off of it? Just today I am now feeling tenderness of my nipples, is that common too? Does anyone know how long it will take to get out of my system? Also my libido had depleted to nothing, how long should it take for that to come back?

m thinking these tests were useless due to the Yaz and that she needed the free levels checked but does the TSH look high? We have stopped the Yaz and will retest in a month or two. Thanks.

This may seem to be a silly question, but has anyone heard from their doctors not to combine methimazole and grapefruit? Online research seems to say it's not flagged as interacting but also notes that no studies have been done to see if it does interact. I was wondering if anyone's doctor had said anything? My doc is on vacation and I was gifted with a lovely and delicious looking 24 grapefruits.....

Hi Chicky Watch out for interactions with grapefruit juice and meds. I went on Zoloft in anticipation of beginning treatment. Then read about the grapefruit juice-turns out they use the same enzyme to clear your system so you can get too much of the drug in your system and get liver toxicity. Grapefruit acts that way with many drugs, so check first, then drink up.

i need to know that, what is the interaction between juices of Grapefruit and Hepatitis C? is there any reactions of Grapefruit juice being taken by Hepatitis C patient?

I am a 49 year old female in perimenopause. I have a history of migraines since starting my menses at age 13 years old. Been in perimenopause for the last 4 years. Four years ago began having panic attacks-one occurred during visit with GYN. I was place on low dose niravan for anxiety.

I wondering if anyone knows when your on the Yaz birth control pill if you can skip your period for the month? I was on Ortho tri- lo another pill and I was able to but I am now on Yaz. Please let me know if you have done this or KNOW for sure!

If narigenin is grapefruit then it is definitely not a good idea. I didn't know what narigenin was but, if I had, I would have more strongly advised against it. Don't eat grapefruit while taking Prograf is one of the first things I was told and told many times immediately after transplant. "Do not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice during treatment with Prograf unless your doctor has told you do(sic). Prograf can have a dangerous interaction with grapefruit or grapefruit juice.
