I have been on birth control for the past three years, I was on yasmin for two years and had severe headaches and was then put on seasonique. I tried to stick it out with the seasonique but I just recently got so fed up with the depression and symptoms I stopped taking it all together. I had NO sex drive on seasonique and now I have a healthy one again but I want to find a birth control that does not take away my sex drive or make me depressed. I was thinking maybe ortho tri cylcen low.
i know all birth controls are different, but they have a lot of similar side effects. i was on yasmin, seasonique, kariva, and now sprintec. the first two that i mentioned: i had my period for about a month. sometimes it just takes a while for your body to adjust. for me it eventually regulated.
Well, 2 months ago i was switched from Yasmin 28 to Seasonique birth control and within 3 wks, all the symptoms i had been having became 10x worse. In addition other symptoms started appearing: irritability, intolerance to stress, insomnia, tremors and nervousness (this was the worse symptom), shortness of breath, double vision and eyes that were puffy. I went to my doctor but he keeps saying it's anxiety attacks which i disagree with.
I have a similar problem. I am taking Seasonique. I have never missed a pill but have taken it a few hours late a couple times. Its my second month and i am having my period but i am not supposed to have one till the end of next month. :/ Idk whats going on either. Help us!
ve been taking birth control for so long, however i had switched from Yasmin to Seasonique. I quit taking the pills last thursday when symptoms became so bad though and i feel no better. Can birth control possibly be making my symptoms of hyperthyroidism worse?
Does anyone know the "right" combination of medications for someone who needs to suppress menstrual periods and is also taking Lexapro and Lamictal for Major Depression with Bipolar 2 ? My daughter tried taking Yasmin continually (not taking the "fake" week of pills for 3 months) but experiences almost daily cramping, hot and cold flashes, nausea. The gyne was stumped as to which BC pill would be best, as Yasmin is for the PMDD, but causes the side effects for her.
Can Seasonique cause cystitis? I started having cystitis-like symptoms shortly after I started taking Seasonique. My urologist wants to perform a distenstion of the bladder, but I read that Seasonique can cause cystitis like symptoms. I would rather switch pills than have the distention. He did not make the correlation between the new pill and the new symptoms.
I dont think the generic version is any different from the actual Seasonique. I am on Seasonique and am now on my second three month pack. I started breakthrough bleeding/spotting roughly into my third week of the first pack and pretty much have been bleeding since, (so a little over two months) It has been annoying to say the least, because in this whole time, I have maybe COMPLETELY stopped bleeding for 2-3 days.
Not really a question - more sharing my personal experience with Seasonique. I've read so many terrible things, I was afraid to take it -- so, I wanted to say -- I am NOT having any bad experiences. I'm in week 5 -- so far so good. I was on Yaz for about 2 years -- didn't have any problems. Decided to switch to Seasonique for the convenience of few periods. I'm actually thinking I'm feeling somewhat better on a daily basis (then taking Yaz).
I only took seasonique for 6 months. It took me over a year to get my cycle and for the past 3 years i have been trying to get pregnant again, It's as if I have become infertile. I never went through any of the side effects.
Hi, I recently switched from Yazmine to Seasonique. I just started my 3rd week of the Seasonique and weighed myself today and I am 5 pounds heavier than I was last month at the same time (5 pounds is a very big deal to me). Anyway, has anyone had a similar reaction to Seasonique or did I just eat too much this month?
I had unprotected sex on the 13th day of my seasonique pill pack, (when i would normally be ovulating) then freaked out and took plan b. what are the chances that i could still be pregnant?

I've only been taking seasonique for 7 weeks today. The slip I got with the pills said to take the 1st pill on the Sunday after you start your period, even if you are still bleeding. I did that and sense than I haven't stopped bleeding. It's going on 8 weeks of continuous bleeding. Some days its light, some days its..not so light. So i guess my question is have anybody else experienced this long of bleeding after starting seasonique?
I've finally found a doctor that takes me seriously and agrees that I have all the classic symptoms of endo. Along with a family history and during the exam she thought she felt the "bands" where it had attached itself. Of course the only way to be sure is surgery but she wants to do the less envasive first......birthcontrol. I really like my new doctor but I can't help but be nervous about the side effects.
My gynocologist put me on the 3 month birth control pill, Seasonique, after my hemmorhagic cyst ruptured. If normally it can take 1 or 2 period cycles for the pains to go away, does being on a 3 month pill change the time frame or, should I still expect the pain to last for another 1 to 2 months?
I'm on YAZ, and so is my roommate, and we both have trouble with being dry. I actually had to buy lube because it was such an issue. I only switched from Seasonele because of the money, but I'm thinking of going back because of the Yaz side effects. I didnt have any on Seasonele, and I found out that its the same thing as Seasonique (except Seasonique has hormones in the "placebo" pills) and Seasonique is covered by a state program... hopefully everything will work out!
Hi! To give some background...I started seasonique in Jan. 2011. It is now December 2011...so almost a full year.
My first three months, I had no cycle for about a month and a half. Than, I started to show some spotting...it continued for the remainder of the 3 month pack. So for roughly about 1 and a half months I spotted...sometimes light sometimes heavy.
Hi I am 5 days late with no sign of my period anywhere.
