Has anyone had any bad effects from using Yasmin birth control? I had my iud removed and the dr. put me on yasmin but before i start taking them i just wanted some feedback... thank you...

However, I have read about terrible side effects from people that stopped, too. Anyone have experiences to share?

After my surgery i was on Lupron for 3 months but had to come off due to the side effects. I went right back on the marvelon as directed by my doctor but I am having some problems. Very painful breast, stringy discharge, acne and I feel like I am ovulating. Should I be on a different pill or is the side effects from the Lupron still? I also started to have sex again and i felt a very sharp pain on the left hand side inside my vagina like it hit something.

hi there, i have pcos and my OB and DERMATOLOGIST suggested that i take yasmin coz i have acne in my face and back and probably because of hormonal imbalance. i never wanted to take pills because of the side effects. its my 1OTH DAY of taking the pills. no drastic improvement with my acne yet. im quite sleepy lately, i dont know if this is one of the effects of the pill. anyway, my greatest concern is that after i stopped taking the pill after 6 months, im afraid of acne breakouts.

I have heard about Yaz and Yasmin causing more of a risk for blood clots in women....BUT (yes there is a but) almost all birth control pills can cause blood clots especialy if you have had them before, or have had a family history of them. If your nurse wants you to switch to a genric then you can still take Yasmin (but it would be Ocella). It's the same thing.

Hello ladies, I am new to this forum. I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 19. I'll be 33 next month. I've suffered from severe acne, cysts, abnormal periods and major mood swings. I've had 3 laproscopies and I've been on Yasmin for over 8 years. I have to say, of the 5 or 6 different bc pills I've taken, I found Yasmin to be the best. It really curbed my acne a great deal. Also, I had no cysts. On some of the other bc pills, I still developed cystic ovaries.

Im not vomiting any more but still am nausious. Its been a month since then. Can the side effects last this long or is there another reason for the nausea?

I just started Yasmin for acne, having previously taken Microgynon with no issues. I've only taken Yasmin for about 2 weeks, but I've noticed it seems to be really affecting me. I feel so fatigued, low, lacking motivation and just generally flat. So strange.

overall the itchiness and the swollen lymph node might be enough of a reason to switch to a different birth control, it didnt bother me much before but i would prefer something with as few side effects as possible.

I have been off for almost 2 years trying to concieve. Yasmin does help..my face was completely clear and had no hair growth.. since being off my acne has just gotten worse each month. Give it a try..it took a few months but it got extremely clear. Also I tried probably 3 or 4 different BCPs before I started Yasmin and all the others didnt help and they didnt make me feel like myself I felt tired and emotional all the time..Yasmin was perfect..

with the Ortho it took me 4months to get over the side effects. took it for 6 months before TTCin n it wasn't so bad. as for the Yasmin, it gave me horrible migraines and I kept on vomiting every time I took it. if ur sure about the Yasmin pills then I'd recommend that u wait until u finish ur ortho first to avoid unnecessary bleeding. When I started taking Yasmin all those problems went away but I also got worried because of the many unhealthy side effects of contraceptive pills. My question is: If I get an IUD, will it be able to control all my hormonal problems? Can I have an IUD and also take an anti-androgen or something like that?

Brands of bc pills like Yasmin work well for acne. My doc put me on yasmin for medical reasons, but since starting it I havent had a pimple yet.

Metformin and some type of birth control pill are normally the treatments of pcos. I've had pcos since (and maybe longer) 2007 and have been on metformin 500mg 2x since Jan of this year, plus I'm on Yasmin bc pills. Yasmin, like luisa24 said is the best form of bc pills for pcos. It also helps great if you suffer from mild acne breakouts. To answer your question about the side affects after you stopped treatment, well that i cannot answer.

The treatment that you have been prescribed is correct. If you are having any side effects then get the antibiotics changed and even oral antibiotics can be added. i just began taking yasmin today (never taken birth control before). so just now i began doing my research on yasmin, and it seems that the side effects are crazy! i cant say anything because this is only my day. i know pills work differently for everyone but i am really quite scared. what should i do? anyone have any good stories about yasmin??

In those cases, a second treatment for another 4-6 months may be indicated to obtain desired results.

Aren't such side-effects as abdominal cramps have been reported for Yasmin? As I have found them in the drugs description.
