From your description, your mother seems to be suffering from hand-foot syndrome, which is a common adverse effect of Xeloda. Hand-foot syndrome is a condition where the palms of the hands and soles of the feet become reddish, swollen and develop pain and tingling sensations. Sometimes, rash or peeling of the skin in the palms and soles also occur. Reducing the dose of Xeloda can help decrease this side effect.

This sounds like the "red hand and foot syndrome" you get with Xeloda (another chemo treatment). Does it get hot and itch?
I found that using cold packs from the freezer when it was itching/burning helped to relieve the symptoms.
As for the skin peeling I used Shea Butter. Just the shea butter without any additives (like perfume). It is expensive but I shopped on ebay (wonderful place!
I was prescribed oral Xeloda together with infusions of oxiliplatin, but had to discontinue the Xeloda. My body smply could not tolerate the drug and while taking Xeloda I lost more than one pound per day, snd had relentless nausea and terrible pain in my hands and feet. After one three-week cycle my doctor discontinued the Xeloda. I was able to complete treatment with the oxiliplatin. This was in 2004 and I am cancer free today. Ask your mother's doctor for something else.
then i woke then next morning I have redness, burning and tingling in both hands. It was time to see my podiatrist for athletes feet he said this 2 foot 1 hand syndrome it inot infectious or contagious it will resolve once you get rid your athletes feet. well I have family & id ont want effect them. Help anybody??
for pain control she takes ULTRACET tab mornin ad evenin along wit two other vitamin tablets...doctors r not givin a proper reason for her still continuin hand pain...if u wish pl send me ur mail id...i ll scan d reports and mail u...so tht u can guide us clearly...or post ur suggestions accordingly...
i heard tht few doc suggest takin CT 27-29 blood test in order find out the oncolet tab's efficiency in mom's body...but our consultant told no to dis too...wat do u think about it??

I have been expierencing a sharp shooting pain at the top of my right foot between the small toe and the second toe. It usually happens on and off and at rest. I usaully get it for two, three days and then goes away for a month or two and then I get it again.
For the past two years, my right foot gets swolen, when compared to my left foot. My regular physician, and she is an excellent one, had an ultrasound and mri done along with xrays. I also had an EKG done as part of my physical. She informed me that she didn't find a problem; I should accept it as part of the growing old process. (All my life, my right foot has always been bigger (!) than my left foot). I am still concerned.

By your feet being in close proximity you have spread it via foot to foot contact then you have touched the infected foot with you hand hence leading to "Two feet and hand disease", as fungal infections spread via physical contact.
Further creedence is added to this diagnosis as you said you have applied hydocortisone cream (steroid creams).
I had hypothalamic lacunar stroke on 01/09/09 with subsequent thalamic pain syndrome on my right side arm/hand & leg/foot/toes. Constant tingling/burning/tightness/numbness & cold my entire right side of body. After stroke, my doctor immediately put me on 75 mg Plavix same day. After putting up with syndrome for 4 weeks, I went to my neurologist Thursday, 02/05/09 & told him the pain was really getting to me. He prescribed Lyrica 75 mg twice a day.

The she started getting hand to foot syndrome and everything I have read says the chemo may need to be adjusted. She says her dr wanted to stay on track with the chemo and it would go away after chemo. The more we question her I now know that she has 64 lesions. Is this a large number or is this a small number? ve been experiencing muscle cramp type pain in the middle to pinky fingers on my left hand intermittently (a few times throughout each day) which makes my left hand painful to use for a few minutes each time. The pain is only in the top of these three fingers (where the finger meets the palm down to the knuckle) and it feels like cramp but isn't helped by moving/stretching the fingers.

i am scheduled to get an injection tuesday however this afternoon i started feeling leg and foot tingling again on the same side that i had all the pain on before. the doctor seems to think that it is caused from the facet or si joint. My husband was diagnosed with colon Cancer in Feb 2007. He took chemo drug Xeloda and had standard radiation. During a check up in January 2008, tumors were found in his lungs- one in each lung, sizes: 7mm and 13mm. He took chemo: Folfox, Avastin, Oxaliplatin, and Xeloda until April 2008. The April CT scan revealed that the tumors had grown slightly and that there were four more small nodules visable.
my daughter recently ran a marathon and developed a blister, the next morning (monday) her foot and lower leg were red, hot, and painful. She went to an ER and was diagnosed with cellulitis, given keflex and ultram. The next day leg was worse, so she returned to ER and they gave her bactrim to take with the keflex.

From the symptoms it looks like hands, foot and mouth disease. Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is a human syndrome caused by intestinal viruses of the Picornaviridae family. It is extremely uncommon in adults; however, still a possibility.
Without external examination, diagnosis is tough. So please consult a dermatologist and get yourself properly evaluated.
