Is anyone putting their glaucoma eye drops in the fridge? If so, what is temperature where you store them in the fridge?
My opthamologist said it is okay to store the drops in the fridge so that they become cool and therefore you know when the drops enter your eyes.
Anyone?
l have been taking Xalatan for a year and there has'nt been any side effects except my eyes feeling a bit dry l have developed some floaters but my doctor says it most likley has nothing to do with the xalatan ,
but the past few weeks it has been starting to sting or feel a bit , sometimes l put in two drops at a time instead of one , could putting too much in cause this soreness, is there an eye drop such as a lubricant eye drop l could take that relieves the soreness.
I HAVE BEEN TAKING COSOPT ABOUT 8AM AND 1100AM THEN I TAKE XALATAN ABOUT 9PM WORKING THE NIGHT SHIFT.MY PRESSURES WENT FROM 30S TO TEENS IS THAT OK?TO KEEP USING THOSE TIMES OR SHOULD I TAKE A COSOPT AT 8AM XALATAN AT 11AM AND ANOTHER COSOPT AT 9PM.?
I MISSED A COUPLE DOSES OF COSOPT AND XALATAN THE PAST MONTH SHOULD I JUST GO ON WITH MY REGULAR SCHEDULE/
Have used Xalatan for several years with no rash. Added Trusopt 1 year ago and about 3 months ago I started with a rash on eyelids. Dermatologist treated for contact dermatitis Fluticasone Propionate cream with little result. Opthamologist treated for blepharitis with an antibiotic cream and eyelid wash, again no relief. I tried using Xalatan in AM rather than at nite, no change. Tried just Trusopt AM and early PM, no change.
Lol Well it goes into your stomach and is brought to the body from there. The water or temperature doesn't just go directly to baby.
Hi, my doctor would like me to have SLT in one eye (has a test) to lower my IOP (Xalatan is not enough apparently)...
I've red a couple of studies on SLT and some pretend that SLT is coutner indicated for Juvenile glaucoma (it could raise IOP instead of lowering it)
I'm 31 years old...
Any thoughts ?

I have retina detachments in both eyes after surgeries I had eye pressure problems but on last visit to doctor on wednesday my eye pressure were normal 14 (Right eye) and 9 (Left Eye) I am using using Cospt, Alphagan, Xalatan( Twice a day and Pilocarpine 2% six hourly.
How much can Xalatan lower IOPs by? If it is not enough to get into safe figures, can other prostaglandins be tried?
Is it realistic to hope that some of them will work for more than 2 or 3 years or is tolerance almost always built up to the drugs?
I have been using Xalatan for the last 6 months for my eye pressure which was 23 and now is around 17.
Over the last 3-4 weeks I have eye pain in one of the eyes, consistent dull ache. I visited my Optho and had eye dilated and checked and everything looks fine. He changed the drops to Travatan. But the pain is still present after using travatan for like 2 weeks. What else can be the cause? What else should I try to find out?
How long would you say it would take pressure in eye to increase from normal to 50. I am on timoptol and xalatan at moment.
s were slightly elevated (and an Aunt had glaucoma) but returned toward normal on Xalatan drops? Might she expect the cataract surgery itself to alter her pressures toward normal or should she have a combined laser filtering procedure? Thanks.
I was diagnosed with glaucoma four years ago and was immediately put on Xalatan once a day both eyes. Two years later was taken off Xalatan and put on Cosopt & Alphagan, twice a day, Lumigan once a day, both eyes. For the past two years my diopter went from -4.00 both eyes, to -9.50 left eye, -7.00 right eye, as of today, in steady progression. I can already tell I'm probably not seeing 20/40 presently and need stronger contacts.
I am not sure if his fingers were cut or had precum. My question is due to the high temperature in the Steam Room. If this person was HIV+ could I RECEIVE HIV in a very warm temperature environment. There was no other interaction with this person.
Am I at risk for contracting HIV?

I was prescribed xalatan to reduce the pressure. Around the same time I started noticing afterimages from objects with high contrast to their background (tv against white wall, my phone against desk) after staring less than 3 seconds. Further, when I read text online I notice faint horizontal bars beside the text (negative afterimage of the space between the lines). The most annoying aspect is that I sometimes see a negative afterimage of the people I am talking to.
42 year old male, IOP (both eyes) 18-19 (treatment with Xalatan just begun). No field loss in left eye, very minor field loss in right eye. Strangely, visual examination of the optic nerve showed nothing to the specialist that suggested nerve damage -- the only way he could even confirm that it was was from an OCT measurement showing the right eye nerve being slightly thinner than the left (85 microns avergage left, 80 microns average right).
On a different topic , can the long term use of glaucoma eye drops such as Xalatan , azarga cause any serious or vision threathening problems or is that not really possible, thanks
Nearly every night between 12:30 and 3am I wake up freezing. Room temperature is 66-68. My temperature usually drops below 95, often to 92 or 91.6. I put on a sweat suit and wool hat and can usually get back to sleep. A dual-control electric blanket helps somewhat but not entirely. My blood sugar is normal at that time, but blood pressure is high (for me--150/80).
Maybe you can adjust your room temperature or cover yourself with a bed spread or blankets as the weather condition is to minimize the heat loss from your body.

hi last night i may have accidentally taken my xalatan eye drop twice in one day.i know the usual dose is one time a day.my question is if i did take it twice what would happen and would there be side effects?
I read at a lot of places that the body temperature changes when you sleep, almost always cools down when you sleep. (I am assuming this is because the body is trying to conserve energy, physically thinking, lower temperature would imply lower change in entropy). However, the other day I slept without Turing my heater on and it was very cold. However I woke up with a much higher body temperature.
