uroxatral

Avatar n tn Which of these Rx medications is effective for increasing urine flow, but less interfering with normal ejaculation: Uroxatral or Silodosin?
Avatar m tn I am currently taking uroxatral and avodart daily, and am curious as to why I am still having symptoms. Is it possible of being overmedicated? Or is there something that has been missed? If so what other possibilities are there?
Avatar m tn t know what triggers this problem and there is no cure. Uroxatral is an excellent option and you have gotten at least a partial response-- good. There is no risk of cancer or other serious impairment or long term damage to your pelvic organs. Symptomatic relief with Uroxatral, and possibly antiinflammatory agents give many men some relief.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing retrograde ejaculation from taking Flomax and Uroxatral for several years. Will normal ejaculation return if I stop the medication? How long will it take?
Avatar f tn Ultimately, flomax and drugs like uroxatral can be combined to give maximal medical therapy for BPH. Sometimes men continue to have problems and may be candidates for surgical intervention to improve symptoms. Frequently, larger prostates can elevate PSA and lead to biopsy. While there is the possibility that your biopsy will yield cancer, it is likely that the increase in PSA is due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Avatar m tn I don't know if what follows will help you, but I have had a similar problem to you. Last year, I got an STD after I picked up a girl at the bar and the condom broke. I went to my doctor after I started feeling a little "peculiar" and he prescribed me 7 days of doxycycline, which seemed to help, but didn't solve the problem. I started getting a clear discharge so I went back and the doctor had me tested for STDs. I was negative. He then told me it was probably stress.
Avatar m tn I had problems with my prostate. I would get the cold shakes probably because I had protattis. My penis and gentals would feel cold to the touch, I think this was related to inflamation in my prostate and maybe my body. I started taking herbs daily that reduce these problems. 1)Graminacea Flower Pollen Extract 2) Quercetin 3) Beta Sitosterols 4) Olive Leaf Extract for getting rid of viruses and bacteria 5) I just started taking Turmeric for overall inflamation.

Avatar n tn I am 58 yrs old, have BPH and had not taken medicine for the condition, as symptoms were not that bad. While in S. America in November, I had pain which was thought to be from kidney stones. I was given scopolamine. The doctor didn't ask about BPH and I didn't know that the med had side effects related to prostate. It became hard to urinate any more than small quantities at a time. I began retaining fluids, something that was determined after I returned home to US.
Avatar m tn Chronic prostatitis is a possibility for you and if so is a challenging problem to deal with, often requiring repeated, prolonged courses of antibiotics with the sorts of drugs you have received- fluoroquinolone antibiotics such as Cipro or levofloxacin or trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. The best approach to this difficult to manage problem is to commit to work in ongoing fashion with a urologist who you have faith in. 5.
Avatar n tn I have been having this problem for awhile now. I have seen 3 different Urologists and none of them know whats going on. I have been cleard of all infections and cancer. i had one say ints anxiety but thats hard to beleive i have that much anxiety. i even went on a relaxing beach vacation and I still have this probelm. It all started when I had the urge to go to the bathroom real bad but couldnt go because i have a shy bladder.
Avatar m tn Also, I am not in any pain at all during the day in any part of my body so that's why the problem is so strange because it's just the single symptom...
Avatar n tn Separately, due to a Vitamin D deficiency my doc found, he put me on 50,000 units Vitamin D per week for 8 weeks, followed by biweekly doses. And guess what...the Vitamin D almost instantly "cured" the BPH. I've seen that Vitamin D can affect the growth of prostate cells over the long term, but this worked as quickly (and about as well) as Flomax. (FYI: I'm diabetic and overweight, taking metformin, Byetta, lisinopril, HCTZ, gabapentin, lovastatin and Lantus).
Avatar n tn I am a 25 yr old male and have been suffering from some sort of voiding dysfunction for the past year+. After urinating, I never feel as if my bladder is completely empty. There is no sense of urgency, just a feeling that there is urine still left in my bladder. Normally, I ignore the feeling and wait for it to masked by the filling of my bladder, but sometimes it is so annoying that I force myself to urinate again.
Avatar m tn If only the swelling but not the pain returns, I cannot explain. I would recommend just observing what is happening every few months. You could try a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory such as ibuprofen for a week or two. If you are not allergic, do not have any problem with kidney function and do not have any ulcer history, you could take 600mg.four times per day for a week and see if this makes a difference.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your response on brown seminal fluid. I left out some info. My husband is 47, and DID NOT have brown fluid before this prostate test was done. Should I call the uroligist that did the test and let him know whats going on. my husband also said that the prostate exam hurt and hurt for a 1/2 hr after. He said the doctor didn't use enough lube and was in a hurry.
Avatar m tn In your case has there been a diagnosis made or the cause has been identified for erectile dysfunction? Erection is caused by the action of muscles, blood vessels, nerves and hormones. As you mentioned your hormone levels are in the normal range, other factors which influence erection need to be evaluated. Any vascular abnormalities, diabetes, hypertension, cardiac problems, psycological problems can lead to ED.
Avatar f tn What did or is everyone having for dinner? My husband and I are having a late dinner with steaks, stuffed pork chops and potatoes on the grill.
Avatar m tn m currently taking Septra DS for prostatitis even though my prostate is fine they gave it to me for a precaution because they couldn’t figure out what is wrong with me and uroxatral oral to relax my bladder muscles and prostate. Ultracet for the pain because I do get pain in the penis. They did a pelvic and abdominal CT scan 2 days ago to rule out any possible kidney or bladder stones.

Avatar f tn Thank you for reply,l did actually resend my question attached to another thread on this forum. I apologise l didnt realise you had answered the above. I have jst been to another doctor as l had blood tests performed (not for kidneys they were general well being tests etc),my calcium level, diabetes, cholestoral etc etc everything was normal and great. Doctor therefore doubts it's a calcium stone and suspects uric acid stone??
Avatar f tn So many people have lived the same things we have, but are so much further in their journey to wellness. You all know the lingo and so on... So If I could be so bold as to ask what TX is short for?
