Because they would have known that TDF for hbv half dose of hiv dose is all that is needed. And they are coming to this conclusions only now based on what is reported to them by patients and treating docs.
But again taking tdf + etv is kind if same as taking one pill truvada. So i dont think there is a right o wrong way to taking nucs.
We hbv patients dont need nucs. We need immune therapy. and to detox the body. And so far the mainstream medicine is ignoring it.

HBV-DNA has been in 10^7 to 10^8 over the years. My ALT typically is around 20-40. I have been in the immune tolerant state till 2008. But, in recent 2-3 years, my enzyme level starts to increase. I have done routine Ultrasound examination yearly, but everything is normal.

ll understand,well on my last post I told you I had started pep,I got the pep from San Fran general hospital on Xmas day,reason I went there is because they were the only place open,well they gave me a prescription for a couple days supply,told me to take 2 keletra twice daily and one truvada once daily,so yesterday.
Taking PEP is not needed, you don't want to take powerful medications like anti-viral preps without a need. Whoever Rx'ed it for you either doesn't know about HIV, or you pushed for it to the point where he/she just gave in.

truvada is just tenofovir+ftc, it is sueless on hbv unless non response to tenofovir, which is extremely rare
it adds toxicity and higher price because truvada patent is not expiring in 2014, no difference on hbsag.
instead of truvada it is best only for those non responding to combo tenofovir+lamivudine.
If you want to take nPEP, you should consult a doctor, not try to treat yourself or turn to strangers on the internet for medication advise, VERY bad idea.
nPEP would not have really been strongly recommended in your situation, it's usually only recommended when there's been an exposure to a known positive partner. Your overall chance of becoming positive, even if the sex worker was infected is pretty slim to begin with anyway.
You don't have any medical training so likely don't know what your lymph is supposed to feel like so shouldn't be poking it trying to perform a diagnosis - which btw hiv doctors can't do from symptoms. Just test as advised at 4 weeks after you stopped taking the pills instead of trying to do calculations that an hiv doc can't do.
