My doctor said i would have to stop using Tobradex as the steroid has caused the raised eye pressure and prescribed instead Lotemax and Cravit to be used 6 times a day and Azarga 2 times a day. Upon reading, i just realised that Lotemax also contained steroid, so why is it given to me then? I have asked her and she said Lotemax rarely cause raise eye pressure. I am just not sure. Can a kind ophthalmologist assure me this is alright? Thanks.

Lotemax is the brand name of the drug loteprednol. It is a steroid anti-inflammatory like Pred Forte and likely is to be used in place of Pred Forte (or the other way around). You would need to ask your doctor to be sure. "Lotepred" on the label must refer to the generic name of loteprenol.
The brand name of Ketorolac, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, is Acular. So, nothing you have replaces the Ketorolac. Sorry. Maybe your doctor could give you a sample.

Average cornea thickness in center is 540 microns. Thicker than that means less likely to get glaucoma and a chart is used to SUBTRACT number from Goldman tonometer reading because it will read high. Thinner than that increases risk of glaucoma and numbers are ADDED to tonometer reading. Since you have had lasik these numbers don't mean much and the important number was pre-lasik numbers.

then what else will work? the eye condition is deteriorating day by by day n im worried sick. WHICH DROPS SHOULD I USE?
After the infection was over ,There was no pain or redness in the eye but vision was little fuzzy as compare to my right eye, I went to Opthamologist and she put me on Lotemax drops for 7 days, I used drops and went back after a week and she said, inflammation is still there and she put me on Prednisone 40 mg TABLETS for 4 days with Lotemax eye drops every one hour.
I am really worried as there are lot of side effects of Prednisone, This is my second day on Prednisone and so far i am good.

Also I take betoptic for IOP incease which is certainly due to the Lotemax. Therefore switching lote. to alrex wd possibly lower IOP,. reducing need for betoptic and reducing variable vision. what else could be done?
Not a problem for most who haven't been taking steroids for 29 yrs.(aren't hyper sensitive) I might also add that a 74 yr old has less chance for rejection since his older immune system is weakened.
but there are still red veins in my eyes. The red veins are still visible, but are not as red as they used to be. Is there any way to get rid of them completely.....or is there any way to get treatment to help my eyes return to the way they were before I started using these drops?
I also believe I have developed a dryness problem from these drops. My eyes are unbearably dry and scratchy feeling in the morning when I wake up. The only way I can get this to go away is with artificial tear drops.
While looking for an answer to my problem, I saw that someone about 7 years ago posted that they had teary and itchy eyes for 2 months after their eye exam. Well, I am in the same situation, going on my second month. I have a question. Are drugs in the benzo family ever used to treat seizures? As in Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, Restoril, etc?
I have simple partial seizures and was on xanax on an "as needed" basis to control some nervousness about going back to college. I was on it for about 2 months. I started realizing I got less of my sensory and motor seizures which have always been uncontrollable since I started getting them back in 2000.
A few days later I went back to the OD and was given Azasite for what was possibly a bacterial conjunctivitis. This seemed to clear the infection and in about 5 days I was free of the red eye and pain so I resumed contact lens wear after about 10 days. Well, about 3 days after wearing my contacts I noticed that my vision was very hazy like looking through a frosted glass window and lights seem to have a starburst or halo effect.
Might also want to rule out thyroid disease. Lotemax is probably not something you want to be on long term since it is a moderately strong steroid. I suggest looking in to taking a daily multivitamin, adding a good amount of fish oil and flaxseed oil supplent, avoid lots of wind, dust, sunlight,ceiling fans, and dry hot air. Look into allergy drops like Pataday, frequent use of preservative free artificial tears, and possibly punctal plugs and restasis drops long term.
It seems to be very slowly detaching with the use of Lotemax and Nevanac eye drops, with a small section yet to go. Today I experienced a sharp pain in my left eye while reaching for something, then a couple minutes of tears flowing. I've experienced that pain (tho not as sharp) a couple of times during this period. Felt like an eyelash in the eye, but there was nothing visible in my eye. bWhat are the possible causes? Thursday my female 10 lb. 2 year old Japanes chin was lethargic and not eating. She was givin Reglan and Pepcid at the clinic. Friday still lethargic not eating and had a fever. 1. A steroid (lotemax) is often used to jump start restasis. Normally only one bottle is used and when its gone its not refilled.
2. You will likely need to wait about 4 months before restasis kicks in

4. If optovar,zaditor and patanol haven't worked within 10-14 days they aren't going to work.
5. See the best refractive surgeon (lasik) you can get to. Do your own research.
