My doctor said i would have to stop using Tobradex as the steroid has caused the raised eye pressure and prescribed instead Lotemax and Cravit to be used 6 times a day and Azarga 2 times a day. Upon reading, i just realised that Lotemax also contained steroid, so why is it given to me then? I have asked her and she said Lotemax rarely cause raise eye pressure. I am just not sure. Can a kind ophthalmologist assure me this is alright? Thanks.

It seems to be very slowly detaching with the use of Lotemax and Nevanac eye drops, with a small section yet to go. Today I experienced a sharp pain in my left eye while reaching for something, then a couple minutes of tears flowing. I've experienced that pain (tho not as sharp) a couple of times during this period. Felt like an eyelash in the eye, but there was nothing visible in my eye. bWhat are the possible causes? Could it be the membrane separating?
Lotemax is the brand name of the drug loteprednol. It is a steroid anti-inflammatory like Pred Forte and likely is to be used in place of Pred Forte (or the other way around). You would need to ask your doctor to be sure. "Lotepred" on the label must refer to the generic name of loteprenol.
The brand name of Ketorolac, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, is Acular. So, nothing you have replaces the Ketorolac. Sorry. Maybe your doctor could give you a sample.

Worried I had an eye infection I called my doctor and I was prescribed to go on lotemax for a month. Almost immediately the discharge went away and I was fine as I finished my prescription. During this time I visited my doc to double check things and she said it was actually mostly meibomian gland dysfunction along with allergies. She just recommended the lastacaft again along with a daily eye cleanser once I finished the lotemax.
He did not find any foreign object, but said i was having an allergic reaction and put me on alrex. A day later i was back at Dr because my eye was on fire. He switched me to lotemax and said i might have been sensitive to alrex. Several days passed with no relief. I sought a second opinion, and was told they could not find any foreign object, but my eye was in distress and dry, so i was told to contunue lotemax, and use gel drops.
Is zylet cortiosteriod/antibiotic a good alternative to Lotemax + asasite. Asasite burns a lot and is very uncomfortable twice a day to use.
I have been taking Lotemax for a few months. My doctor said as long as my IOP remains low I can take this for years. If I develop a cataract from this and have to have surgery will cataract continue to comeback if I continue taking Lotemax?
60 yr old female. Have been dealing with dry eye for over a year. Antibiotics, Lotemax drops, Lotemax gel, Blink lubricating drops, Now; Refresh PM gel, Systane Ultra lubricating drops and Restasis. Optimologist prescribed Restasis 6 weeks ago. Still not sure why eyes are red all of the time. Suggested allergy testing, which I have scheduled now. Optomologist says that he still isn't sure what is going on and wants to put plugs in my eyes.
t working any more, so I went to an ophthalmologist in Orlando who examined me and said there was nothing wrong. I was prescribed Lotemax drops to use in conjunction with Opcon A, and this worked for a while, but after a year or so it happened again, so I went to another ophthalmologist in Phoenix where I now live. He also found nothing wrong and gave me the same prescription for Lotemax.
My pressures range naturally between 20 and 26. I was then asked to go back on the steriod eye drop Lotemax which I was very worried about as the steriod eye drop Maxidex had caused my pressures in less than a week to rise to 58! But they said I had to so I started Lotemax and Iopidine.
I took myself back to the hospital 3 days later as I felt increased pain and my pressures were rechecked at 30 and 36. I mentioned is this the steriod as 3 days ago they were 24 and 26!
I was left with post-herpetic neuralgia and am on several medications to treat the pain. I developed a sore eye and was told by the optometrist that it was iritis. This recurred twice and I am now on lotemax once a day to prevent the iritis from coming back. The problem is that I now have some corneal scaring that has left me with double-vision and cloudy sight.
I was allergic to something in the 3 different drops that were given in my first eye exam ever. Anybody have any idea what the culprit is? My face was swollen and tingly, my eyelids were extremely swollen. That is better, but I am left with the other symptoms of tearing and itching. The Dr. prescribed steroid drops, Alrex, that have a bunch of other stuff in them, including a preservative. I am really paranoid about using them in case I should have another bad reaction.
A few days later I went back to the OD and was given Azasite for what was possibly a bacterial conjunctivitis. This seemed to clear the infection and in about 5 days I was free of the red eye and pain so I resumed contact lens wear after about 10 days. Well, about 3 days after wearing my contacts I noticed that my vision was very hazy like looking through a frosted glass window and lights seem to have a starburst or halo effect.
Ask your ophthalmologist about putting you on a steroid drop like lotemax for several weeks to stop the cyclosporin burning.
i am also suffering from nummular keratitis for almost 7 years and had been seeking from treatment from doctors since the last 2 years. they gave me steroids ( flarex and lotemax) and my eyes are becoming better now.
After the infection was over ,There was no pain or redness in the eye but vision was little fuzzy as compare to my right eye, I went to Opthamologist and she put me on Lotemax drops for 7 days, I used drops and went back after a week and she said, inflammation is still there and she put me on Prednisone 40 mg TABLETS for 4 days with Lotemax eye drops every one hour.
I am really worried as there are lot of side effects of Prednisone, This is my second day on Prednisone and so far i am good.
ve had a consistently red left eye upon waking. The doctor prescribed Lotemax drops, four times a day (to shrink the redness I assume) and asked that I see him in two weeks.
However, the flashlight I used to check my eyes was a 100 lumen Lenser LED (just and LED, no laser involved). I held it pretty close to both eye balls looking at the white parts next to the retina (sinus side on each eye).
Since June I have been suffering from extremely dry eyes. I saw my optomotrist, and she prescribed optivar, and Soothe XP. That didn't help, so next she perscribed Lotemax along with the Soothe XP. Still no help, so now I am on Restasis, Lotemax, and SootheXP. Along with this I have to apply cold compresses , & bought an extra humidifier for my bedroom. It's getting to the point of impacting my jb, which is driving as a Courier 8 hrs a day. Will this go away as quickly as it came on?
A few years ago I started using Visine/clear eyes/opcon A to treat minor eye redness. I did not realize the harmful effects that these products had on your eyes, and I used them regularly for about 2-3 years. Now I am suffering from Rebound Hyperemia or Rebound effect. My eyes are bloodshot all the time unless I use these drops. Almost a month ago I stopped using the redness reliever drops cold turkey. Today, my eyes look a little better......but there are still red veins in my eyes.
My eye doctor told me I had inflammation due to dry eyes and put me on Lotemax for 2 weeks (1 drop in the morning and 1 drop at night) I was wondering if it’s safe to use for 2 weeks without any problems?

I got GPC on my left eye when I overused my contacts and I was on Lotemax for about 2 months, the bumps went away but I still have problems on my left eye. its usually redder than my right eye and my upper eyelid gets itchy and swollen randomly time to time, I tried Allaway but it didn't help, I also use a lot of Artificial tears and Gels so I'm sure its not from dryness.
i had a pink eye in february, the infection went away but the swelling on my upper eyelid is not going away. took Lotemax for 3 weeks, but there was no improvement. its been more than a month now and the swelling is not going away. i even tried hot and cold compress but there was no change. what should i do??
