Worried I had an eye infection I called my doctor and I was prescribed to go on lotemax for a month. Almost immediately the discharge went away and I was fine as I finished my prescription. During this time I visited my doc to double check things and she said it was actually mostly meibomian gland dysfunction along with allergies. She just recommended the lastacaft again along with a daily eye cleanser once I finished the lotemax.
My doctor said i would have to stop using Tobradex as the steroid has caused the raised eye pressure and prescribed instead Lotemax and Cravit to be used 6 times a day and Azarga 2 times a day. Upon reading, i just realised that Lotemax also contained steroid, so why is it given to me then? I have asked her and she said Lotemax rarely cause raise eye pressure. I am just not sure. Can a kind ophthalmologist assure me this is alright? Thanks.

It seems to be very slowly detaching with the use of Lotemax and Nevanac eye drops, with a small section yet to go. Today I experienced a sharp pain in my left eye while reaching for something, then a couple minutes of tears flowing. I've experienced that pain (tho not as sharp) a couple of times during this period. Felt like an eyelash in the eye, but there was nothing visible in my eye. bWhat are the possible causes? Could it be the membrane separating?
Lotemax is the brand name of the drug loteprednol. It is a steroid anti-inflammatory like Pred Forte and likely is to be used in place of Pred Forte (or the other way around). You would need to ask your doctor to be sure. "Lotepred" on the label must refer to the generic name of loteprenol.
The brand name of Ketorolac, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, is Acular. So, nothing you have replaces the Ketorolac. Sorry. Maybe your doctor could give you a sample.

He did not find any foreign object, but said i was having an allergic reaction and put me on alrex. A day later i was back at Dr because my eye was on fire. He switched me to lotemax and said i might have been sensitive to alrex. Several days passed with no relief. I sought a second opinion, and was told they could not find any foreign object, but my eye was in distress and dry, so i was told to contunue lotemax, and use gel drops.
Is zylet cortiosteriod/antibiotic a good alternative to Lotemax + asasite. Asasite burns a lot and is very uncomfortable twice a day to use.
My pressures range naturally between 20 and 26. I was then asked to go back on the steriod eye drop Lotemax which I was very worried about as the steriod eye drop Maxidex had caused my pressures in less than a week to rise to 58! But they said I had to so I started Lotemax and Iopidine.
I took myself back to the hospital 3 days later as I felt increased pain and my pressures were rechecked at 30 and 36. I mentioned is this the steriod as 3 days ago they were 24 and 26!

I was prescribed Lotemax drops to use in conjunction with Opcon A, and this worked for a while, but after a year or so it happened again, so I went to another ophthalmologist in Phoenix where I now live. He also found nothing wrong and gave me the same prescription for Lotemax.
I have been taking Lotemax for a few months. My doctor said as long as my IOP remains low I can take this for years. If I develop a cataract from this and have to have surgery will cataract continue to comeback if I continue taking Lotemax?
60 yr old female. Have been dealing with dry eye for over a year. Antibiotics, Lotemax drops, Lotemax gel, Blink lubricating drops, Now; Refresh PM gel, Systane Ultra lubricating drops and Restasis. Optimologist prescribed Restasis 6 weeks ago. Still not sure why eyes are red all of the time. Suggested allergy testing, which I have scheduled now. Optomologist says that he still isn't sure what is going on and wants to put plugs in my eyes.
I was allergic to something in the 3 different drops that were given in my first eye exam ever. Anybody have any idea what the culprit is? My face was swollen and tingly, my eyelids were extremely swollen. That is better, but I am left with the other symptoms of tearing and itching. The Dr. prescribed steroid drops, Alrex, that have a bunch of other stuff in them, including a preservative. I am really paranoid about using them in case I should have another bad reaction.
My question is that I am very concerned that my vision will never be the same and that I will not ever be able to wear contacts again. Does anyone know how long these SEI last and if they do last for awhile can you continue to wear the contacts even though you still have glare and halos? Should I see a corneal specialist?
ve also felt very sensitive to light, and my left eye has actually hurt. I have some questions about what I should do now. Should I call the doctor to let him know I'm still sensitive to light, and perhaps even more so? Could this be a side effect of the Lotemax? Is the eye pain something I should also include in my call to him?
And last, if I had done some sort of light damage to my eyes with the LED light, how might that present?
Since June I have been suffering from extremely dry eyes. I saw my optomotrist, and she prescribed optivar, and Soothe XP. That didn't help, so next she perscribed Lotemax along with the Soothe XP. Still no help, so now I am on Restasis, Lotemax, and SootheXP. Along with this I have to apply cold compresses , & bought an extra humidifier for my bedroom. It's getting to the point of impacting my jb, which is driving as a Courier 8 hrs a day. Will this go away as quickly as it came on?

I went to see an optomologist to see about having cataract surgery. When he couldn't get accurate measurements for the surgery because of a problem with my corneas he referred me to a cornea specialist. The specialist diagnosed me with ABMD and told me I needed surgery to correct it. I'm told I can't have the cataract surgery until the ABMD is resolved. Is there other options for me to try before I go for the surgery or is that the best course of treatment in the log run?
i am also suffering from nummular keratitis for almost 7 years and had been seeking from treatment from doctors since the last 2 years. they gave me steroids ( flarex and lotemax) and my eyes are becoming better now.
The most common thing that would cause that is a chalazion. Use the search feature and read about it and its treatment.
After the infection was over ,There was no pain or redness in the eye but vision was little fuzzy as compare to my right eye, I went to Opthamologist and she put me on Lotemax drops for 7 days, I used drops and went back after a week and she said, inflammation is still there and she put me on Prednisone 40 mg TABLETS for 4 days with Lotemax eye drops every one hour.
I am really worried as there are lot of side effects of Prednisone, This is my second day on Prednisone and so far i am good.
Do not have cataract surgery if your cataracts are not reducing your vision. Certainly, do not do all sorts of things at once - cataract surgery, laser refractive surgery, laser therapeutic surgery, etc.
Neither elestat nor lotemax treats MDF dystrophy. You have some sort of ocular surface condition such as chronic allergies or dry eye syndrome which might explain the fact that glasses can't improve your vision. Proceed cautiously.
) The infection has left a corneal opacity half covering my pupil (central axis) and I see foggy. I have begun cortizone treatment (Lotemax 0.5%) and in 3 weeks I have seen a difference in vision (more distinct forms and colors are starting to appear where before it was very foggy) and also in the presentation of the scar (seems to be shrinking and becoming more transparent, albeit slowly, but every day there's a gradual difference)..
