This is correct. It's why lotemax was developed and why its so expensive.

Lotemax is the brand name of the drug loteprednol. It is a steroid anti-inflammatory like Pred Forte and likely is to be used in place of Pred Forte (or the other way around). You would need to ask your doctor to be sure. "Lotepred" on the label must refer to the generic name of loteprenol.
The brand name of Ketorolac, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, is Acular. So, nothing you have replaces the Ketorolac. Sorry. Maybe your doctor could give you a sample.

It also means using the drops twice/day for the rest of your life and the drops take 4 months to kick in. It is also outlandishly expensive once the coupon for the first refill is used. It is not approved for MGD. You need to call whomever prescribed Xiidra and ask your questions. Also ask yourself if you are willing to accept everything I described.
After the infection was over ,There was no pain or redness in the eye but vision was little fuzzy as compare to my right eye, I went to Opthamologist and she put me on Lotemax drops for 7 days, I used drops and went back after a week and she said, inflammation is still there and she put me on Prednisone 40 mg TABLETS for 4 days with Lotemax eye drops every one hour.
I am really worried as there are lot of side effects of Prednisone, This is my second day on Prednisone and so far i am good.
m scared that I damaged my eye lenses with a steroid. I want to do what is best for my eyes and he wants me to taper to 1 drop a day for 5 days. I feel like throwing it in the trash. He said that it could've been there for awhile, that he sees 30 year olds with cataracts. I reminded him of his glowing report (and all my previous optometrist and opthalomology exams and never being told I had cataract.
Worried I had an eye infection I called my doctor and I was prescribed to go on lotemax for a month. Almost immediately the discharge went away and I was fine as I finished my prescription. During this time I visited my doc to double check things and she said it was actually mostly meibomian gland dysfunction along with allergies. She just recommended the lastacaft again along with a daily eye cleanser once I finished the lotemax.
60 yr old female. Have been dealing with dry eye for over a year. Antibiotics, Lotemax drops, Lotemax gel, Blink lubricating drops, Now; Refresh PM gel, Systane Ultra lubricating drops and Restasis. Optimologist prescribed Restasis 6 weeks ago. Still not sure why eyes are red all of the time. Suggested allergy testing, which I have scheduled now. Optomologist says that he still isn't sure what is going on and wants to put plugs in my eyes.
Might also want to rule out thyroid disease. Lotemax is probably not something you want to be on long term since it is a moderately strong steroid. I suggest looking in to taking a daily multivitamin, adding a good amount of fish oil and flaxseed oil supplent, avoid lots of wind, dust, sunlight,ceiling fans, and dry hot air. Look into allergy drops like Pataday, frequent use of preservative free artificial tears, and possibly punctal plugs and restasis drops long term.
I mentioned is this the steriod as 3 days ago they were 24 and 26! He replied Lotemax is not known to raise pressures and I must continue and he also prescribed me Timolol.
I am on Lotemax for 3 weeks (3 times 1st week, Twice 2nd week, Once 3rd week). I have tried to talk to the docs about any damage I might have occurred with pressures of 58 as for how long could they have been that high! But they do not reply.
Hello. My eye doctor is monitoring an epiretinal membrane in my left eye. It seems to be very slowly detaching with the use of Lotemax and Nevanac eye drops, with a small section yet to go. Today I experienced a sharp pain in my left eye while reaching for something, then a couple minutes of tears flowing. I've experienced that pain (tho not as sharp) a couple of times during this period. Felt like an eyelash in the eye, but there was nothing visible in my eye.
I picked up a flashlight and held it diagonally across my lense and saw that it seemed to be encapsulated, so I set up an appointment with my Opthamologist for the next day. I also checked my dilation reflex with the same light and nothing seemed amiss. The next day I found out that I apparently had Pinguecula in both eyes for quite some time. My left eye has the most, and for a few years I've had a consistently red left eye upon waking.
I went to see an optomologist to see about having cataract surgery. When he couldn't get accurate measurements for the surgery because of a problem with my corneas he referred me to a cornea specialist. The specialist diagnosed me with ABMD and told me I needed surgery to correct it. I'm told I can't have the cataract surgery until the ABMD is resolved. Is there other options for me to try before I go for the surgery or is that the best course of treatment in the log run?
i treated with topical steroid (FLAREX) since 1 minth ago...my problem is, can nummular keratitis cured?? Di I have to use the topical steroid for the rest of my life...added more, I have large optic disk, with normal visual field. Seek your opinion.
t see my regualar Glaucoma specialist I suppose it was over looked not to check my history as a suspect. When will I know if I have Glaucoma I used the Lotemax on 8/30 the day of my appointment. It is a good chance I will have it since my mom had it? How long will the pressure be high and will it go higher?
