Lamivudine 150 is meant for HIV patients or patients coinfected with HBV and HIV.Only Lamivudine 100 is usually prescribed for hepatitis b patients.But whatever be the dosage its not at all safe to be treated with lam. due to its high risk of resistance associated with it.Moreover it is also very weak as compared to the newer medicines like entecavir and tenofovir.You should change your doctor and see to it that your new doctor prescribes you entecavir/tenofovir.
stop lamivudine immediately or switch to tenofovir, it is decades now lamivudine is not used because it can lead to cytopatic hbv mutations that cannot be control with any medication leading to cancer and cirrhosis despite hbsag negative, hbvdna undetectable and normal ast-alt, another reason not to use lamivudine is that it is even totally useless on hbv

1. Lamovudine is not a good choice, as it complicates treatments later.
2. PegIntf is a very good choice and you seem to be a good candidate (female, viral load not too high, ALT is elevated). However, as you say it is expensive. It may also not work. If you do decide to try it, I would suggest you stop taking Lamivudine, as research has shown there is not advantage in taking the two together.
In 2014 I did a pcr and result was 700iu/ml, 2015 pcr was 1380iu/ml and just did another 3 days ago with result 101000 iu/ml, which prompted me to see a doctor. He prescribed for me lamivudine 100mg for 6months. My question is, is this the appropriate drug considering I have used this drug 10 yrs ago and also considering other combination options available today.
you can blame the doctor for her situation lamivudine can t be used on hbv and is proposed for a ban, entecavir can t also be used once lamivudine is used because they share same development of resistance and then entecavir resistance is difficult to manage, change butcher immediately a doctor like that can only work as a butcher and get your mother tenofovir plus entecavir, resistance to a nuc can be deadly for her so the combo must be used here

what happens if u took lamivudine for 3 months for fHbsAg (no HbeAg) then stopped for 2 months and your LFT got worst, do you start the drug and complete for 6 months? or what do you advice me to do?
once the lamivudine has been started it is difficult to discontinue it without changing it to another medication. it is possible that you have developed resistance and may need to check a viral level and if (+) be switched to another medication. Resistance is very common with lamivudine use. a CT scan or U/s should also be checked.

s one taplet, with T for tenoforvir and L for Lamivudine on the other side of the taplet. two in one. the Lamivudine as my Dr says will help fight strains the a resistant to tenoforvir. Am worried bc if I start this combo i can't go back to tenoforvir alone. has anyone used this combo?
In the first 3 years, I took Lamivudine + Hepsera. Recently I have eaten Lamivudine + Tenofovir. Now my HBsAg (Abbott Architect - Quantity) is reduced to 3.92. It is really good to hear that I probably get serocoversion.

You may have LAM resistance. Consider adding or changing antiviral, according to the 2007 guideline.
