I have discussed with my doctor to start the anti-virus treatment immediately to reduce my liver damage. Since I have been treated with Lamivudine in 2000 for 11 months, which was totally not effective (HBV-DNA did not decrease). But, at that time, my ALT was 40. I should not given this drug considering my immune tolerant state! However, I probably can not blame my doctor too much if it dates back ten years ago. But, this failed treatment may induce LAM-resistance in my body.

You are correct that Truvada is a combination of tenofovir and emtricitabine, and is generally prescribed for patients with HIV. Being a HBV forum, most of us know very little about Truvada except that it is prescribed off-label for HBV by some doctors, and that it is recommended for HBV patients who develop resistance to Tenofovir.
Well here it is guys something that has been talked on the HIV forums for years they NUCS cause high blood pressure is finally have been labeled as side effect. Does not mean it will happen with everybody but it sure did happen to me taking Entecavir (Baraclude) which was also originally developed for HIV but it failed miserably as they virus developed resistance really fast to it..

Doctor recommended lamivudine in January. Took lamivudine and by June 2010, viral load was undetected. have read in many forums that lam is not the best, approached my doctor with this concern and she sugessted tenofovir. Should i start tenofovir immediately, how should i start. Should i just abruptly stop lam and move on to tenofovir, should i use both and gradually stop lam after a few day/weeks. now my ALT is normal, HbeAg is negative Anti-HBe is negative and may DNA is below 6 units but my HbsAg is still positve and Anti-Hbs is negative. HBV DNA clearance was assessed using assays with different sensitivities to detect HBV DNA. Adefovir and lamivudine increased HBV DNA clearance at end of treatment versus placebo. Entecavir increased clearance versus lamivudine with inconsistent effect size. Lamivudine was less effective than adefovir in lamivudine-resistant patients and less effective than telbivudine in HBeAg-positive patients.
Lamivudine is outdated and ur virus will multiply anyway someday due to resistance to it so best is change to tenofovir and also change ur doctor who even don't know in today's time lamivudine is not used.

I did stop lamivudine treatment around 3 weeks ago, and since a couple of days I feel a discomfort on my right body ribs. Is now around 5 months since I had the acute hepatitis B case.
Last months test showed immunity developing, but I am worried if this could be a relapse. Is normal to still feel this pain or discomfort after 5 months? Can be related to stopping the treatment.

combo have no effect on hbv but more toxicity on you, if you have no resistance mutations baseline go for tenofovir only or tenofovir plus lamivudine which are the less toxic/more potent and retry interferon in 3 years
D Doctor advised me to use Lamivudine which I did. Two months ago i did the test again and it showed that I am positive. I was advised to do Liver scan and HBD DNA Viral Load. The scan showed that my Liver is ok. The viral load is 991. I want to try Liv. 52 and Liv. 52H. Has anyone used them before?
