457651 tn?1208363102 Now it is 1am sunday and i feel the same way. Can someone help me on what to do whenever I am injected with this Neupogen? Should i drink lots of water? should i eat certain food? Can ibuprofen help? How many days does this horrible feeling last? Thank you all for reading and best wishes to you all on your fight for a good health.
691935 tn?1421027090 ANC bounces around quite a bit. It probably doesn't have anything to do with cuds and whey. I started Neupogen when my ANC was at 400 but often wondered if it was necessary. Most doctors jump the gun with it, I think.
Avatar n tn Doc fears I may need 2 shots a week and does not want to do that yet as he does not know what the long term effects could be if I need it for the next 40 weeks. What are the dangers or long term effects taking Neupogen at this rate, as I am anxious to continue treatment as I am a stage 3, 53 and showed early response.
Avatar f tn t (me not listen - what a revelation) because I knew I was getting the Neup tomorrow. About how long does it take to raise the whites? I will go for another CBC on Thursday so if I inject tomorrow will it work that fast? ANC has been averaging around mid 4 to 6. You would think the docs office would have gone over this with me but they didn't. If anyone would can give me a heads up I would certainly appreciate it.
Avatar n tn I had my labs faxed to my office yesterday, and being in bed all day sick, I did not get to look at lab numbers. Last week my WBC was 1.5 this week it was 2.5 . Up. Will get ANC #s tomorrow. I am finding more info about neupogen and agree with others who have posted, that it might be over prescribed. The link as told to Me is, take nepogen ( keep WBC ANC. Numbers up) to be able to continue interferon. I have no choice but continue . Can only hope side effects subside. I felt so much nausea.
Avatar f tn His gastro, does not lower ribaviran he will be staying on the same dosage, I think that is something they do when you are in trial program. I know it was not Procrit, his hematologist said he does not use that anymore. Here are his results of yesterdays CBC WBC 1.6 RBC 2.4 LYM 0.9 HGB 7.3 MID 0.2 HCT23.9 Gran 0.
Avatar m tn The neupogen does not. I had no visable side effects from the neupogen although after I completed treatment and was still doing the Neup for a few weeks to bring up the whites, I noticed the side effects (bone aches). Masked by the INF and RIBA and the Procrit, who knew what was causing what? One thing I was told about Neupogen by my hemotologist was to wait 24 hours after the INF or do it at least 24 hours before. NOT AT THE SAME TIME because the INF and NEUP counter act one another.
Avatar m tn Does a drug such as Neupogen (G-CSF) increases the possibility of rejection due to increased WBC? Or is rejection caused by another part of the immune system rather than WBC and ANC?
1501377 tn?1291508678 Platelets 68, neuts 1.6, hgb 13.9.. Have decided to do 2x in may/june and test my response. If unimpressive by week 4 I would cease then, but, in Aus. will need to treat for at least 12 weeks to be categorised as a non-responder or will render myself ineligable for further & PI treatments. To optimise my prospects I would prefer to avoid dose reduction, at least for the intial 12 week period so have been making enquiries re growth factors (rescue drugs).
Avatar m tn What day are you having your blood drawn, and what day each week do you take your neupogen and your interferon? Do you mean that your anc is 400 or that your total white blood count is 400? I would guess that it must be your ANC that you are speaking of (absolute neutrophil count) Anc is usually what is closely monitored and sometimes a problem for those taking interferon. ANC are the white blood cells that fight bacterial infections.
1658980 tn?1330711550 There is a certain amount of leeway given to the treating doctor. Does your trial give your doctor leeway to determine what comes first, the neupogen or the dosage reduction? If yes, you can ask your doctor to go with the neupogen first, stating you don't want a dosage reduction. Adherence to dosages in the first 12 weeks are particularly important.
Avatar m tn Low WBC, Neuts or ANC does not cause side effects. You may be a little more prone to infection but the body doesn't react like it does to low HGB. You're in your 10th week of Incivek and you're feeling every bit of it right now. As you can see by those who are near the end of 12 wks, they're finding the last 8-12 wk weeks of triple to be the most challenging time. From all indications, once you stop the Incivek you will feel much better.
Avatar m tn It's been 2 or 3 shots a week, thats why the reduction to see if I could stabilize a little. My pegys shot is today so i'll see what its like on thurs.,guessing I won't need a shot.Feel okay though no problems. No doc to speak too but I have the sound wisdom of office staff letting me know its probably not a problem.
1118724 tn?1357010591 t so faulty but I do recall my heptalogist telling me neupogen would cause my wbc to rise but only temporarily. That's why I had to keep taking the stuff which I personally hated. But you're right that each person needs the dosage tailored to fit. He also believed it was more important to watch my absolute neutrophil count than the wbc. Don't worry about the mush, as long as you keep your sense of humor.
Avatar f tn How does anyone afford rescue meds AND Hep C meds? We have pretty good insurance from my husband's employer but I am already paying over $700 a month for meds. We don't use credit cards. I have been unable to work since 2006. I worked as a nurse from 1987_1997, got fibrous and chronic fatigue but I didn't file for any disability. When I decided to file in 2007, I was Las king 2 quarters to qualify. My husband has a decent retirement so I don't qualify for other assist.
