It was a creamy dressing - and the fat and calorie content was about the same as a Big Mac! So - avoid the fries, have a small burger with mustard or ketchup (no mayo), salad with lite dressing, a baked potato with some chili on it - no butter/sour cream, - just make good choices, and study their nutrition guide.

Avatar n tn Maybe look into changing from low fat, to low carb diet. Low carb diet helps some - definitely has helped me where no other diet has. make sure your levels are optimal, as well.

[He does recommend use of sugar alternatives / artificial sweeteners, which I strongly disagree with / I think better to avoid both sugar and artificial sweeteners. But other than that I think his advice and approach is worth considering].
Avatar f tn french fries up until a few weeks ago (thats over now, thank god, lol); btw, a craving for ice is usually a symptom for anemia/low iron. If youre not already taking iron supplements, I'd let your doc know about this craving.

Avatar f tn Hello, the most effective diet for controlling diabetes is one that is low carb, moderate protein, and high in healthy fats. You can look up paleo (their approach is quite diabetes friendly), or mediterannean (though you may want to reduce the bread, past, etc).

Add strength training in the evening & your BG could see am improvement in the morning. Also adjust your diet based on your numbers. Remove refined sugars & high carb foods. Switch to lower carb options. I've been eating Tomaro low carb wraps for breakfast instead of bread.

Avatar m tn High triglycerides can suppress HDL, and are associated with high VLDL. Also, high carb and low fat is what causes the preponderance of small dense LDL. The wine might help raise HDL a little bit, but will raise triglycerides even more. I'd ditch it, even though moderate alcohol is generally cardioprotective for most others. I am not a low-carb dieter myself by any means, but it's uncanny how the low-fat / high-carb seems to be going wrong for you.
