If he truly displays these conditions, he may well require pharmacological treatment, so it is not a good idea to take him off. However, having said that, Vyvanse is an unusual choice for such a young child, and Abilify is an unusual choice to treat generalized anxiety. I would suggest that you obtain a second opinion.
I also told him I was on Jenny Craig for losing weight (and have lost 15 pounds) - he still put me on Coreg CR which is impeding my weight loss. I understand my heart is more important - but I went on a weight loss management to help my heart.
I'm just at a loss as to follow through with this dr that acted unprofessionally or start over - my mother recommends another guy in the practice - or can I now see my family physician for blood pressure meds?

I posted back in Sept about having insanely irregular periods and the pill after several months was not able to regulate it. Even though my ultrasound came back showing only one cyst, my doctor swore that I still had PCOS. Since then he ended up putting me on Doxycyline to see if it would help my acne while as well as ordered blood test to check for signs of PCOS.

Vyvanse is not a good medicine for people with high blood pressure and you might talk with your doctor and see if there are alternatives. Beta blockers do antagonize the effects of vyvanse. Maybe a calcium channel blocker or an ACE inhibitor would be better--but first check and see if Vyvanse is a must for you.
I am guessing that you see two different doctors. One for weight loss and one for your ADHD/anxiety. I say this because

I am taking Vyvanse and Prozac, and I'm having trouble getting myself to eat. I am still in a healthy weight range, so I'm not worried about that. But I've been weak, fatigued, and dizzy at times because I'm not eating enough. Are there any protein shakes I should try, or something like that, so I can be getting the nutrients I need? I hate most protein shakes because I can't stand the texture, and they're usually gross. But I have to do something.
Some time later I began losing weight, seemingly without cause, and am now at 240. I have adhd and I have always had trouble with substance abuse, which began around age 14 when I was introduce to inhalant abuse by a friend. I continued abusing inhalants daily for a while before I was caught, and sent to a group home. I have since stopped "huffing" but I regularly smoke marijuana, and I do not plan to stop, so please, no comments on that.
THEN the real problem. I awake in absolute terror. I am pretty much completely dysfunctional for at least half an hour to two hours. The Vyvanse generally relieves it when it kicks in. It's as if my mind falls apart when off it. I never wake up happy to face the day, excited, etc., but instead face this same terror each and every morning. If I nap in the day, I will awake with the same reaction AGAIN and, even though Vyvanse is still active, or should be, it's as if it wore off.
Has anyone experienced this? I also noticed that Vyvanse lasts about 6 hours for me so my Doctor gave me 20 mg Adderral to take in the morning and then I take the Vyvanse in the afternoon. I am also trying to quit chewing and was wondering if nicotine has an effect when taking these medications? It seems when I take Adderral or Vyvanse the cravings increase! If anyone has any thoughts let me know, thank you.
I have been on Vyvanse for a while now. And was worried when they doctor said it was very similar to Adderall XR. But he promised me that the issues I was having with feeling ill, insomnia, and no appitite would lessen on Vyvanse. And that the nasty, gross stimulant feeling I got from Adderall would go away.
And he was right about everything and then some. And believe me if there is a side effect to have I will have it.
I have tried different weight gain methods - since he was losing some weight. Not an extreme amount. I tried Carnation, Pedisure, and other things. He doesn't like either of these. I am now giving him whole milk with dry milk added - this has seemed to help control the weight. He eats in the morning, but normally has a full box of lunch returned everyday. My son only weighs 37 pounds. I have been feeding him peanut butter and lots of ice cream.
Hi all, today I obtained a new script for 20mg of Vyvanse (a switch from Adderall XR). I got it filled at CVS, and having read accounts of tampering, I checked out the capsules and noticed their contents are low, and significantly varied. Most of the capsules are only HALF full, and none of them are entirely full. I'll also note that I picked the script up myself, and kept them in a secure place until I opened them.
I recently started taking Vyvanse, which durasticaly improved my grades, but has left me with some side effects that I don't know how to deal with. But, I don't want to have to stop taking Vyvanse. Ever sense I started taking Vyvanse I have been acting a little OCD, having minor headaches, having major mood swings, a decrease of weight and appetite, and several other side effects. Ond of those is that I cant sleep.
My doctor told me I could play around with the doses and see what works for me, since he would be seeing me in two weeks. I started to try different doses of Vyvanse and Adderall, starting at 10mg Vyvanse and going up to 50mg, and starting at 5mg Adderall (IR) and increasing to 10, at most, 4x a day.
