1284078 tn?1271587111 My doctor is now going to refer me back to my old renal consultant as they just dont know what to do with me, as you know it is unusual in adults and frankly i think i am probably the only person they have ever seen with it (i live on a small island so thats not that far fetched) What gets me is that i have had a few years without any problems and i guess i got my hopes up that it was finally over. It is nice to know that i am not the only one out there going through this.
Avatar n tn If the endoscopy, including examination of your daughter’s stomach, was clear, it is highly unlikely that her upper intestinal tract is the source of the mucous. A rarely occurring exception, in children and adults, is a condition called Eosinophilic Esophagitis, in which the esophagus can appear grossly normal on endoscopy. This condition is usually accompanied by swallowing difficulty and not just vomiting.
Avatar m tn Why is there such a large deviation or difference of opinion in different doctors on whether or not amblyopia can or cannot be treated in adults? Is it still because studies such as those conducted by McGill University (tetris) are relatively new?
Avatar n tn I have occasional episodes of extreme nausea usually resulting in vomiting. There is no pattern. I have had gastro testing, spleen, liver, kidney, pancreas, and bloodwork. I have had appendectomy, gall bladder removal, and hysterectomy. My Dr.'s have no answers or suggestions. Is there anything the Dr.'s might have missed?
Avatar n tn CVS is an uncommon, unexplained disorder of children and some adults characterized by recurrent, prolonged attacks of sever nausea, vomiting and prostration with no apparent cause. Vomiting occurs at frequent intervals (5-10 times an hour at the peak) for hours to 10 days (1-4 most commonly). CVS has been difficult to diagnose.
Avatar n tn She has never had this problem before, no allergies that we know of, all vaccinations are up to date. Shes not currently in school, so the only germs she is around are the ones that I also am. We have dogs, my mom is a smoker but only does so outside of the house. I really hope someone can help. Thanks all.
Avatar f tn dealt with the high pollen and allergies and again fluid in the ears. Tomorrow I go to have tubes put in. I am extremely nervous because I will be awake for the procedure. Any advice as to what I can except, during and after?
Avatar f tn I know Cradle Cap is used for babie's that have it but i just cannot remember the real name for it. Anyways my mum seems to have it and she's in her late 40's. The first time she got it was a few months ago, it started off with a severe itchy scalp and red itchy spots on her neck/back, then she woke up with a shock, her scalp was covered in yellow crust, it was awful she was so distressed, i had to get it out with a nit comb. That time she was suffering from stress.
1650642 tn?1301582117 Due to the risk and cost of treatment we decided to keep her on preventitive in hopes of stopping further growth and hopefully slowly killing the adults. This being said, she has had no change in diet... no change in behavior (happy, active, etc.) and no change in attitude. She has, however, started throwing up mucus. It has happened about the last 3 days once or twice in a day. There seems to be nothing other than a piece of grass or tiny speck of food in the mucus.
Avatar m tn Symptoms may be varied, depending on the type and severity of the condition and may include abdominal pain, motility/ related issues, nausea/ vomiting, nutrient deficiencies etc. The condition is studied and described in two clinical forms. The first (the rarer among the two), occurs in children and young adults presenting with severe anaemia, with superficial involvement limited to the mucosa and a nodular pattern.
Avatar m tn We were told my grandson who just turned three this month is having thyroid issues and was put on pedisure. They said it could clear up in a months time. My grandson doesn't live with his mother and the paternal grandparents have played head games with her many times over so am needing some insight on this to make sure that this isn't possibly another one. They were not told to go see an endocrinologist. They were just told to put him on pediasure and it could clear up in a month.
Avatar f tn Has any doctor suggested it's an intussesception? It's not uncommon in children, but kind of rare in adults, and because of that, can be hard for a doctor to identify and sort from other possibilities. Here's from another website talking about intussesception: "The most common symptom is abdominal pain that comes and goes. Nausea and vomiting also may occur. People sometimes have symptoms for weeks before seeking medical attention.
Avatar n tn Avoidance of triggers as mentioned above is one important management of migraine, both in adults and children. Both preventive and abortive medications may also help provide relief. Cyclic vomiting syndrome are usually associated with migraine in children. Discuss this with her attending physician for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn I can only suggest few things: 1. Food allergy is a specific disorder, it goes with face flushing, lips swelling, skin itching and...diarrhea. IgE antibodies and eosoinophils (a type of leukocytes are found in the blood). If this is not the case, she doesn't have allergy. Common food allergies in adults are to fish, shellfish, tree nuts and peanuts and to some antibiotics. 2. Ischemic colitis causes pain in left lower abdomen, and it may cause intestinal bleeding.
4624236 tn?1357891407 should support you, but her views are different and could very well not best option in your favor...parents want whats best for their children like im.sure your mom.
4825186 tn?1409019576 If you have been vomiting all day I suggest you call your Dr. My Dr had be go to the ER for IV zofran and fluids after 12 hours of vomiting. Also the flu doesn't usually cause GI symptoms in adults (it can happen in those under 3 years), so I highly doubt you have the flu. Probably a stomach bug, which needs to just run its course.
Avatar f tn (posting about this on the forum was like me posting about shingles on above my hip) No one could guess that because my age. (shocker it can occur in young adults too), and nobdy could make it go away either. I had to wait for 4+ hours at a free clinic but it was worth getting the right meds. As quoted from that article I linked: "When to see your doctor Consult your doctor immediately if you notice blood in your vomit or begin vomiting blood.
Avatar f tn Kidney stones can cause nausea. Are you also having pain in your back, just under your rib cage? Any blood in your urine? What are your doctors doing? They saw "something" on the scan, which they thought MIGHT be a stone.........are they having you screen your urine to see if you are passing any stones? What is their plan? Did you tell them about the vomiting? If not, I would suggest you do so as soon as possible.
Avatar n tn He is 18 months old and for the past 5 months has been gagging excessively in which leads to vomiting. After the 3rd time of this occurrence I immediately started going to the doctors. He has had Upper GI test, xrays and even his adenoids removed. His adenoids where blocking 80% of his nasal air way. The surgeon and my pediatrician where hoping this was the cause of these episodes. But the day after the surgery, the symptoms started right back up again.
