Avatar n tn Gave her a bath, she calmed down chnaged into jammies then vomited again in my bed! she kept vomiting until it was all green bile! I rushed her to the er. The doc looked at her vomit (i brought the bucket) he said bile was normal. He gave a drug caled Zofran used for nausea and vomiting in cancer patients. Avatar n tn I personally wouldn't mess around with home remedies here and put her through more pain. Green stool can indicate increased bile, meaning the gallbladder/liver are involved. Put her at best on a nice bland diet, that means white food like rice, bananas, white bread--no fats, no meats, no tomatoes no citrus, etc. Give her a rest, poor thing. Why give her more fiber. Pepto Bismol btw is meant to combat diarrhea to some extent and will stop you up.
Avatar f tn The vomiting is so awful to watch in the end as it just goes on and on and on... There are many anti emetic meds to try. Has your vet not prescribed anything? Reglan (metoclopromadine) is a very cheap medication, unfortunately, it is also metabolized in the kidneys, so a too high dose results in toxic levels in the blood. My husband and I discovered that completely bypassing the GI tract by using reglan injections worked much better in the end.

242516 tn?1368227505 Well, you're not alone, you've got a cold like millions of other adults right now around the world. Colds are upper respiratory infections that are almost always caused by viruses in adults. They typically get better after a week to ten days. Viruses can even cause colored mucous, that thick discharge you can't see through, which many people believe only can come from a bacterial infection. Colds can even cause pressure in sinuses, when viruses affect the sinuses .
Avatar n tn A person's entire blood supply passes through the liver several times a day, and, at any given time, there is about a pint of blood there. The liver produces and secretes bile (to be stored in the gall bladder until needed) that is used to break down and digest fatty acids. It also produces prothrombin and fibrinogen, both blood-clotting factors, and heparin, a mucopolysaccharide sulfuric acid ester that helps keep blood from clotting within the circulatory system.
Avatar f tn The liver has many jobs, including changing food into energy and cleaning alcohol and poisons from the blood. Your liver also makes bile, a yellowish-green liquid that helps with digestion. When lupus causes inflammation in the liver, a condition called hepatic vasculitis can occur. This affects the blood vessels that supply the liver and can cause blood clots in those vessels. The liver may become enlarged due to ascites or congestive heart failure.
Avatar f tn when I am really reacting still to the previous meals no-no. I have had allergy testing probably 6 times since I was 18....twice in the past year just to confirm that the first was truly accurate. My allergist is a great guy, but simply cannot help me very much. He says "eliminate the foods and carry an epi-pen. However, when you see my list of foods to eliminate because I reacted to them, I do not know how/what to eat and still get all of the nutrients needed.
Avatar f tn If gallstones block your bile ducts, you could get an infection in your pancreas (pancreatitis). THIS IS POTENTIALLY FATAL! The longer you wait to see a physician, the more serious this could be. Why are you worrying about surgery before you even know what the problem is? You can always refuse surgery, but you should get diagnosed and then explore your treatment options. Surgey could save your life. Laproscopic gall bladder removal is not that bad.
Avatar m tn It began in 1976 and re occurs every 5 to 6 years. I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out.
Avatar n tn I also have been told that bile typically tastes sulfuric. So, I am no closer to reaching a conclusion. Keep in mind, though, that fatty, rich, or even spicy foods can irritate conditions such as gastroparesis and gall bladder. You simply may have to avoid these foods, and avoid eating massive amounts of food at one sitting. There also are medications that help reduce the likelihood of spasm of the stomach's outlet. Of course, you may require gallbladder ultrasound, etc.
Avatar n tn Furthermore, both children and adults use antibiotics to combat microbes in their environments. In sterile environments, immune systems lack enemies, and may attack food proteins as if they were germs. Our bodies are protected from germs by the antibodies that constantly roam the blood system looking for foreign invaders. For allergic people, antibodies target food proteins moonlighting as allergens. When antibodies detect an allergen, a reaction occurs.
Avatar n tn Hi, I too have upper right quad pain just below my ribs. I am a male, 46yrs old 6ft and weigh 175 lbs. My pain comes and goes and has for about 6 months. It is not severe pain, but at times is more annoying than anything. It feels like there is something in there pinching me. I went to an internal med MD in July. He ran blood tests that all came back fine. He sent me to have an abdominal ultrasound which showed only "healthy" organs.
Avatar n tn It started with me being sick, getting shakes, hyperventilating and eventually vomiting when I couldn't sleep enough at night. This would happen at 1-2 in the morning, then I would sleep and wake up fine. My doctor diagnosed me with Panic Disorder. Recently it has become that I wake up in the morning, after a good 8hrs or so rest, and feel nauseous. I have no appetite, but drink plenty of water. The smell of food makes me feel ill and I generally do not eat until the evening.
Avatar n tn It will give you a feeling of choking, even while eating. But the more bile that backs up in your throat the worse you will get. It eats away at your esophagus which will cause Barretts Esophagus. Prilosec (OTC) is very good for this, and keeping your head elevated while sleeping will help.

Avatar f tn If you don't know, it's like liquid yogurt has tons of probiotics and shockingly has seemed to get my problem under control. I drink close to 8 oz in the morning and again in the evening. I can tell you that within just a few days it helped and it's been a month now, at least. I get the plain unsweetened and sometimes add a few drops of flavored Stevia to just take the edge off, like Vanilla Creme by Sweet Leaf. Don't get the sweetned Kefir, as sugar is never good for you digestion.
Avatar n tn It felt like it was just under my ribs, usually in the front but sometimes in my side and when most severe, in my back. It lasted for about 3 weeks and I just let it go, confident that it would just go away. In the first week of August the exact same pain came back. It was so severe that I called my MD after only 3 days. I had chest x-rays, abd sonogram and blood work. The only abnormality was my amylase which was 397. My lipase was somewhat elevated also.
Avatar f tn My husband had a 3rd procedure for stones in the bile ducts of his liver. They formed there since he has no gallbladder. 4 day's later I took him to the ER and he was admitted with sepsis, C-dif and 2 abcesses on his liver. He was in ICU 2 weeks, the first few days he hallucinated. Then he was in telementary for 1 week. He was moved to a rehab center almost 2 weeks ago. He has 2 drains in his liver that drain the infection into bags outside his body. They may be removed this week.
Avatar n tn Last night I had a horrible episode where it woke me from sleep, I felt an urgency to use the rest room and then I could feel the blood run from my face and broke into a cold sweat which I can only describe as a possible hot flash, I had to grab the garbage can because of the vomiting and I swear, I thought I was going to die. I happen to see my face in the mirror and I was as white as this page. I ache all over today and feel drained. I am 32 years old and began taking birth control at 15.
Avatar n tn I have been reading about eating more raw fresh veggies and fruits as helpful with digestive enzymes that are often lacking in processed foods and fast food, etc. I forgot where I read it now, but I saw information regarding having a blocked bile duct in the liver that can contribute/cause digestive problems.
Avatar n tn Blood tests revealed the presence of the Heliobacter Pylori antibody, meaning that at some time in my life the little bugger had been in my system. Doc put me on a 14-day antibiotic regime to do away with the H Pylori, if in fact it was still in me. 2. Upper GI test concluded there was nothing wrong with my upper GI tract. 3. Endoscopy. Concluded, based on tissue samples, that there was no H Pylori in my esophogus or stomach. But did make a finding of esophogitis and a hiatal hernia.
Avatar n tn Difference today is that I did not eat a thing all day, only 3 cups of coffee over a 2 hr period and this episode occured around noon. In the past I some times felt like vomiting, but today I did not. After it subsided I had to lay down for an hr only for it to begin all over again, but this time not as bad. I was diagnosed last yr with a hiatal hernia and was prescribed Nexium twice a day. This is hereditary unfortunately. I just have to watch what I eat.
Avatar n tn Green tea is a type of regular tea. It is not a detox tea. Actually, green tea is high in caffeine and I wouldn't recommend it due to anxiety. The water that was taken with the tea is probably most responsible for the flushing of the body.
93210 tn?1287457826 If you need to have surgery, make sure that you tell your nurse anesthetist or anesthesiologist that you have nausea and vomiting after anesthesia. Most likely, it's caused by the use of narcotics in the care plan. Request that your caregiver not use narcotics, if possible. I always make this request, and I haven't barfed postoperatively ever since (I've had several surgeries in the last few years). I'm a retired nurse anesthetist. Trust me; general anesthesia is safe!
