Avatar m tn He told me that I had an infection in my eye due to the fact that I was in a public hottub (hotel) with my contacts in. He gave me vigamox. I followed up the next day and they said it looked like everything was getting better and they gave me some anti-swelling and sauve for at night. Everything got better for me and I went off the drops like the doctor told me to. Now one week after stopping the drops the eye is blurring up again.
Avatar m tn I did this for about eight years and never had any problems until about a year and a half ago. In November 2009, I was diagnosed with pink eye and was given vigamox. About a day later I had to go to the emergency room because I was covered in a rash and having problems breathing. After that, my eye doctor took me off the vigamox and gave me a new prescription eye drop. It seemed to be working at first, but after a few weeks of the new drop it made my eye pressure skyrocket.
Avatar m tn A couple of weeks ago i was diagnosed with bacterial conjunctivitis. After a week of using the prescribed eye drops (Vigamox, Lotemax, Tobradex) it went away. The optometrist said the bacteria was gone and so I started wearing contacts after a day's rest. Within a day of getting off the medicated drops, there was a pink blur in my left eye. I continued using the medication thinking it was pink eye again. It worked for a week but now my eye is quite veiny.
Avatar n tn Is there any way you can clarify what is wrong with my eye and why it will take so long to heal (if the current method works). I fell asleep with my contacts in one night,j ust one single night.
Avatar m tn The astigmatism strength is -0.5, and the best I can see with glasses is 20/20 (both before and now with this new change). I have never worn contacts. Currently, the only medicine I take are vitamins, which I've been on for years, and 800mg of Vitamin C a day. I'm 23 and except for near-sightedness, I am in good health. I've read that corneal scar tissue becomes smoother over time. What do you think I should expect? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I recently thought I scratched my eye but after a day or two it was still red and itchy with some mild pain. I also have significant mucous-like discharge and wake up with a matted eye. I went to an urgent care this weekend, was diagnosed with pink eye after a quick look with the light (no dye or tint) and prescribed Vigamox. I have only had 4 doses of the Vigamox drops so far and I do think my eye is improving.
Avatar m tn I noticed constant irritation in my right eye after leaving a contact in for too long so I took it out. Even without the contact in, scratchy irritation has now stuck with me for about five weeks now. I went to see an optometrist two weeks ago and she said there was no sign of infection and she couldn't point out any obvious sores or foreign objects. To help prevent infection during the healing process, she proscribed me Vigamox (4 drops a day for a week).
Avatar m tn We must not lose hope. This can clear-up overtime. I am currently taking predforte, maxitrol, duotrav and vigamox. With these meds, I also pray:) Miracles do happen everyday!
Avatar f tn I am in the middle of having cataract surgery (one eye is done and the other will be done tomorrow). The doctor gave me small samples of Nevanac & Vigamox to use before and after the surgeries. He also gave me a prescription for both. In checking with my health insurance plan, I see that each prescription will cost me $75 to fill. I saw in a previous question that Tobramycin might be substituted for Vigamox (which is MUCH cheaper). Can you suggest a cheaper substitute for Nevanac?
Avatar f tn This year I used them again knowing its the same problem, but for some odd reason the problem was longer then normal but eventually the problem went away. Afterwards I started using my contacts again but about 2-3 weeks after the allergies went away I started noticing my left eye and a tiny bit of my right was a bit blurry. When this happened I thought my eyes were just not moist enough so i bought some lubricating eye drops to fix the deal which it kind of did.
Avatar f tn I went to see my optometrist she prescribed an antibiotic VIGAMOX. I put since last saturday 4 drop a day. I went to see her last Monday. No improvement for the dot but my eyes fell better than saturday. I went back yesterday, no improvement so she send me to the eye doctor specialist. She told me to take Vigamox every 2h instead of 4. When I read the trial on Vigamox the patient took the drug 3x a day and see efficacy after 4-5days. For me it had been 5 now 6 days.
Avatar m tn hy, 2 weeks ago i had cxl treatment for keratoconus. my doctor prescribed me to use vigamox and tobradax 4 times a day for 5 days and after flu she prescribed me to take these drops for 1 week.
Avatar f tn Now I am scheduled for cataract surgery, and in the presurgical packet I received this weekend, there is an rx for Vigamox, even though I requested that a note about the Cipro/Vigamox problem be placed in my file. I know the fluoroquinolones are appealing to docs because they are so tremendously effective, but for people who cannot tolerate them, are there acceptable substitutes?
Avatar f tn The pain backed off somewhat until one month later, when I used Vigamox for one day for an eye infection, when the pain recurred with fury about two hours after using the drops .. My tendinitis is concentrated in the supraspinatus and the long head of the biceps tendon, and now, almost ten months after the original whatever-it-was, I still must use light weights at the gym for curls, bench press, and flyes--and cannot do these exercises on successive days.
Avatar m tn My ophthalmologist prescribed Vigamox and Nevenac 4 times per day beginning 2 days before the surgery, Being a antibiotic, I hope the Vigamox helps with the bacteria count as well.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed and given vigamox (4 x day) and Tobradex. The doctor insisted I come back the next day to check my pupil after dilated. So, I paid another $140 for that exam. Now, they (it's a medical center where different doctors step in) insist I come back every 2 days to check on the healing. Unfortunately, I can't take off anymore work or pay another $140. The redness, itching and stinging have all decreased in the last 36 hrs since starting treatment.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I can either see my family practice doctor if I can get in today as they have an on call doctor you can see or I can stay the course with the vigamox until tomorrow. Now sure which is best. They have limited things they can do I think.
Avatar f tn thank-you!
1428481 tn?1340593131 I have the eye drops (Vigamox) on hand and was wandering if I could use them on my son. I have heard a lot about pink eye but never in infants so I'm not sure how to treat an infant with Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis). He has green mucus basically gluing his right eye together. I have had to wipe it clean multiple times with a wet cloth. The white of his eye is not red but I have heard of people having pink eye without it actually being red.
Avatar m tn I am using patanol and vigamox. Problem is i have like a white discharge on my eye and it does not like to come out. I use a hot compress twice a day then i try to rinse my eye and flush my eye as well. Nothing it just remains in my eye. Most of the time i go to bed and it still there. When the white discharge remains in my eye for too long it gets hard and crust and sticks to my skin this hearts really bad.
Avatar m tn I wear glasses and contacts for a slight astigmatism. When I wear contacts I can usually have them in for 4 or 5 hours and then I start to get a headache behind my eyes and on the bridge of my nose. Is this dry eye? I try using rewetting drops but it doesn't seem to make it better. Is there anything else I can do? As soon as I take my contacts out the headache goes away.
Avatar f tn This morning was swollen and it is getting swollen by the minute associated with pain, no matter. I put cold compresses but it did not help. What do you suggest. thanks.
