I am in the middle of having cataract surgery (one eye is done and the other will be done tomorrow). The doctor gave me small samples of Nevanac & Vigamox to use before and after the surgeries. He also gave me a prescription for both. In checking with my health insurance plan, I see that each prescription will cost me $75 to fill. I saw in a previous question that Tobramycin might be substituted for Vigamox (which is MUCH cheaper). Can you suggest a cheaper substitute for Nevanac?

He had it for the first time under a year, and yes it is very common in infants and young children. As the others suggested, I would not use the medication until you have had a proper diagnosis. Although it certainly sounds like pink eye, other infections or issues are possible, and drops not intended for your child could do more harm then good. All the best.

everything was going good and my vision was start improving but after 4 days when i use vigamox drop i faced immediate reaction casing radness, swelling and blurriness in my eye so i visit my doctor next day and she told me to stop taking vigamox and continue using tobradax and gentreal 3 times a day for one month.

Hello, I called and am going in tomorrow at 9 a.m. I stopped the Vigamox approx. 27 hours ago and the skin disorder is still getting worse. It's on the insides of my cheeks now. I'm assuming it won't start to improve until all the vigamox is out of my system. The person I talked to on the emergency line asured me that stopping the Vigamox early would not harm my eye. That was my greatest fear. I also noticed tiny little blood blisters all over me about the size of pinheads.

She told me to take Vigamox every 2h instead of 4. When I read the trial on Vigamox the patient took the drug 3x a day and see efficacy after 4-5days. For me it had been 5 now 6 days. I am kind of scare and I don't know if they know what I have exactly. Anyone on earth had a similar event or know what it could be please answer I will highly appreciate and have a better thanksgiving. Also is it dangerous to take Vigamox at each 2h?

Follow-up, I looked up the medication (sorry I'm not good on medical terms) and now understand your dog has dry eye, or that may be a symptom. My Westie has been diagnosed with dry eye and was prescribed a dog ointment, in a very small tube. The vet cost was typical, the test was a simple "wick" test and while the medication is expensive, about $35 and I use it only every other day or so, watching to see if my dog show dry eye symptoms.

Hello, I'm being treated for "bacterial Keratitis" on the left eye. I've had the infection for about two weeks. I waited a long time to see a doctor because I don't have insurance and I thought it was pinkey and would heal on it's own. I was wrong. I finally went at cost of $140. I was diagnosed and given vigamox (4 x day) and Tobradex. The doctor insisted I come back the next day to check my pupil after dilated. So, I paid another $140 for that exam.

My ophthalmologist prescribed Vigamox and Nevenac 4 times per day beginning 2 days before the surgery, Being a antibiotic, I hope the Vigamox helps with the bacteria count as well.

Hi, my corneal specialist (opthamologist) said I have a marginal corneal ulcer bacterial in nature and was thought be caused by rosacea. He gave me Vigamox drops every two hours and Bacitracin ointment for night time. I am having a lot of side effects from the Vigamox (irritation, watery eye, itcy, pain etc. and very red eye). But that is not the biggest problem. I tried the Bacitracin for two nights. Last night I up and saw that my eye was very swollen.

On the "blue top bottle drops" there is a prescription name. If you post that, you might get a helpful answer. Really, patients should know the name of every prescription they are are taking--and what it's for. You can--and absolutely should--ask the doc or the pharmacist; they will be happy to give you the info. Also, you can simply type the name of the med into a google search box, and tons of info will come up. But first--you have to know the NAME of the drug in question.

I am using patanol and vigamox. Problem is i have like a white discharge on my eye and it does not like to come out. I use a hot compress twice a day then i try to rinse my eye and flush my eye as well. Nothing it just remains in my eye.Most of the time i go to bed and it still there. When the white discharge remains in my eye for too long it gets hard and crust and sticks to my skin this hearts really bad.

I have a bad case of Blepharitis and my optician has prescribed Vigamox to be used for 7 days on my eye lids. I am on the 4th day and I don't see a whole lot of change in my eyelids. Is there something better than this? I also go to an Opthamoligist and he prescribed a salve, which also didn't work. I am putting hot compresses on everynight with a lid scrub (also not working.) I did this for about eight years and never had any problems until about a year and a half ago. In November 2009, I was diagnosed with pink eye and was given vigamox. About a day later I had to go to the emergency room because I was covered in a rash and having problems breathing. After that, my eye doctor took me off the vigamox and gave me a new prescription eye drop. It seemed to be working at first, but after a few weeks of the new drop it made my eye pressure skyrocket.

My doctor gave me terramycin ointment (4 times daily) and vigamox drops (3 times daily) to treat conjunctivitis in both eyes. However, when applying terramycin ointment for the first two days, my eyes became more uncomfortable (watery, more discharge) and red. Is this is good sigh for healing? or should I stop usage?

I went to my optometrist today because my right eye started really hurting and was pretty red last night and today. This is the third time this has happened in the last couple of months. I had unprotected oral from a sex worker, and about three weeks, later, got symptoms of burning, and a clear discharge etc, I was treated, before test results got back with doxy, 100x2 daily, and my GF was treated with 1 gram of Azithromycin in one treatment, in the last few hours, I have started to get symptoms of pink eye, I then treated it with vigamox x 3 daily, does this sound like a normal treatment, and result, my buring sensations have gone away, and my eye is slowly calming down.
