Avatar m tn I just had eye surgery. Doctor prescribed 3 different eye drop medicines for a week. Can anyone tell me what each are for? A friend told me some were dangerous to my eye? Is this true?
Avatar f tn I am no Dr. but I believe in 3 years the Vigamox might lose it's effectiveness. If it were me, this is one area I wouldn't cut back on because Vigamox is CRITICAL for your eye health after eye procedures. You don't want to kick yourself if your eye heals with complications. I too am always tring to save money where I can, but I would do without a new pair of shoes, jeans, or something else instead...just my two cents.
Avatar f tn Yarrow, I wanted you to know that I had cataract surgery on my left eye on Jan. 11. And I used the Vigamox drops pre and post-op as directed. Three days after surgery, I woke up with a problem with my left shoulder. I'm not sure it was tendinitis, and maybe it was a coincidence that I had it. But I can tell you that it took about a month for it to finally get better! I stopped the Vigamox drops around Jan. 26. Just posting this as an FYI.
Avatar f tn I have white dots in corner of both eyes. Right eye feels sore. I use dry eye drops given by my eye doctor. Dots in left eye increased to three now. I do not wear contact lenses. However, I had a cataract right eye operaton in October 2008. My eye doctor examined me and also a retina doctor. Both did not find any problem. Please advise what these white dots are. Could it be low immune system? Please advise.
Avatar m tn Not uncommonly, people are started on aggressive topical treatment for a supposed bacterial conjunctivitis and end up with a toxic conjunctivitis from the medications. These drops are then switched (because they are clearly not working) for other more potent drops, which then compound the issue. In these cases, stopping the medicated drops and switching to preservative-free artificial tears can greatly improve the situation. Hope that helps!
Avatar n tn My left eye was bothering me for about two weeks, off and on. I thought I had a simple eye infection and used previously Rx'd drops to self treat it ( I know, I know ), then it became very apparent when I could not focus my eyes while driving that something was wrong. I saw my Doctor he put numbing drops in my eyes and did a slit light test, then prescribed me acular and vigamox, directed me to two different OTC drops ( one which is almost gel like ).
Avatar m tn one more thing that my treated eye is now bigger then my second eye after the treatment which is easily noticeable.
Avatar f tn I went to see a fam md and he gave me vigamox eye drops is that med good, my eye lid is still swollen, the doctor said it was a stye. what do you know about this medicine. thanks.
Avatar n tn im a 19 year old female. i have shown my condition to 3 doctyors and have taken different eye drops begining with VIGAMOX and more recently ZEDATIN and FML forte. my left eye appears smaller than the right eye, it is very red in the lower part of the eye as well as in the sides. these symptoms are present in the left eye as well but are not as severe. i also experience itching and irritation in both eyes from time to time. SHOULD I START LOTEMAX? will it be effective?
1428481 tn?1340593131 I have a strong feeling that my 2 month old son has pink eye! I have the eye drops (Vigamox) on hand and was wandering if I could use them on my son. I have heard a lot about pink eye but never in infants so I'm not sure how to treat an infant with Pink Eye (Conjunctivitis). He has green mucus basically gluing his right eye together. I have had to wipe it clean multiple times with a wet cloth.
Avatar f tn t a good substitute and he could not give me any more. I filled the Vigamox since I needed about 15 more drops to get me to the end of the regiment. Good luck; it's a breeze!
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi, my corneal specialist (opthamologist) said I have a marginal corneal ulcer bacterial in nature and was thought be caused by rosacea. He gave me Vigamox drops every two hours and Bacitracin ointment for night time. I am having a lot of side effects from the Vigamox (irritation, watery eye, itcy, pain etc. and very red eye). But that is not the biggest problem. I tried the Bacitracin for two nights. Last night I up and saw that my eye was very swollen.

Avatar m tn About a day later I had to go to the emergency room because I was covered in a rash and having problems breathing. After that, my eye doctor took me off the vigamox and gave me a new prescription eye drop. It seemed to be working at first, but after a few weeks of the new drop it made my eye pressure skyrocket. So then I had to go on yet another new eye drop to bring my eye pressure back to normal.
Avatar m tn After a week of using the prescribed eye drops (Vigamox, Lotemax, Tobradex) it went away. The optometrist said the bacteria was gone and so I started wearing contacts after a day's rest. Within a day of getting off the medicated drops, there was a pink blur in my left eye. I continued using the medication thinking it was pink eye again. It worked for a week but now my eye is quite veiny. The doctor also had said that my eyes were very dry.
Avatar m tn I am using patanol and vigamox. Problem is i have like a white discharge on my eye and it does not like to come out. I use a hot compress twice a day then i try to rinse my eye and flush my eye as well. Nothing it just remains in my eye. Most of the time i go to bed and it still there. When the white discharge remains in my eye for too long it gets hard and crust and sticks to my skin this hearts really bad.
Avatar f tn My doctor gave me terramycin ointment (4 times daily) and vigamox drops (3 times daily) to treat conjunctivitis in both eyes. However, when applying terramycin ointment for the first two days, my eyes became more uncomfortable (watery, more discharge) and red. Is this is good sigh for healing? or should I stop usage?
Avatar f tn t relieve the pink eye or excessive tears. Now I am putting Vigamox followed by Prednisolone drops. My pink eye appears to be gone, but not the tears. So, if after your long battle with this, have you found the answers you've been looking for? Are your eyes back to normal? And could you tell me your outcome? Did a Doctor finally test your tears? I appreciate any feedback you might give.
Avatar f tn Nine days ago I woke up with an extremely mild case of pink eye in my left eye. My sister had been suffering from it, so it was pretty easy to guess where I'd caught it, and I went promptly into the doctor to get it checked out. She confirmed it was pink eye (but didn't say whether it was viral or bacterial) and prescribed me antibiotic eyedrops. Knowing that it usually spread to both eyes I started drops in both eyes.
Avatar f tn My right eye is red, I may have accidentally scratched it with my finger 2 days ago when I was rubbing my eye. It was a little red before, then I thought it got better, but today (Sun Apr 11) it's even more red than before and has a mild pain. What should I do? I have Vigamox eye drops left over from a previous prescription for blepharitis in my other eye (seems to be healed now). Should I take them?
Avatar f tn When I went to see him he got a swab and went over the bumb attempting to flatten it out. My eye went red again. He told me to use vigamox for a day then return to the Zylet for another week. It's been a few weeks now and I can still see the bump since it hasn't gone away. The doctor says I should go see a USC doctor. I don't have insurance and a consultation costs 500-1500. I already spent a couple hundred on doctors and drops.
Avatar f tn Now I am scheduled for cataract surgery, and in the presurgical packet I received this weekend, there is an rx for Vigamox, even though I requested that a note about the Cipro/Vigamox problem be placed in my file. I know the fluoroquinolones are appealing to docs because they are so tremendously effective, but for people who cannot tolerate them, are there acceptable substitutes?
Avatar f tn The year before I had the same issue my normal doctor told me too get some allergy eye drops to use, which did the job. This year I used them again knowing its the same problem, but for some odd reason the problem was longer then normal but eventually the problem went away. Afterwards I started using my contacts again but about 2-3 weeks after the allergies went away I started noticing my left eye and a tiny bit of my right was a bit blurry.
Avatar f tn My doctor had contacted Crystalens to explain my situation as he had not encountered this problem before, and subsequently asked me to continue with my regular drops ( Lotemax, Vigamox and Nevanac) and add a third drop to keep my eye dilated for 5 days (something about the muscles in my eye). I am currently on my 5th day and have an appointment to see him tomorrow. I am beginning to lose hope and confidence that my sight will improve. Thank you for any information you can provide.
Avatar f tn He prescribed me Vigamox 4 times a day. That evening the pain worsened - eye socket/headache type pain around my eye, excessive tearing, redness, swelling. (Friday) When I woke up the next morning, I had cloudy vision and couldn't see out of my left eye. I called their office back and the tech told me I was most likely allergic to the Vigamox and to discontinue and switch back to the Zylet. However, my vision didn't improve.
