Common Questions and Answers about Vesicare for bladder spasms

vesicare

Avatar f tn Hi there, I take or should I say I was taking vesicare for bladder urgency, painful bladder spasms and I was also getting burning on an extreme nature in that region, I kept thinking I had UTIs but it was neurological and another problem according to my urologist and neurologist I have two issues.
Avatar f tn ok now i am asking these very personal questions how about spasms they feel like very low bladder spasms probably more like in the urethra they are painful but come on quickly the dr. has prescribed buscopan to treat this?
Avatar f tn Hi thanks again for the info, I have upped the Vesicare and today I have no bladder spasms (but sometimes that's the nature of the complaint), so it's a bit early yet to assume that is working. I am not going back on the Gabapentin yet as I can tolerate the pins and needles at the moment and I don't think the Gabapentin has any real use in treating spasms.
Avatar m tn I have very similar symptoms, and was curious about asking my doctor for vesicare. I apologize since you're looking for an answer and all I have is questions, but I'm hoping you can help me decide if this medication can help me. I'm a 23 years old male, and have had pretty severe OAB symptoms since I can remember. So bad I have publicly wet my self for not being able to get to a bathroom fast enough.

560501 tn?1383612740 have you been tested for retention? The bladder spasms was one of my issues when I was dealing with retention because I really had to go but could not and my bladder was stretching and backing up to the kidney.
Avatar f tn I don't know if it could be your prostate but I get bladder spasms where I have the same feeling you have. I'm a woman so for a while I thought I was having yeast infections. When I had what I thought was my third yeast infection in one month I went to the gyno. He was able to to a physical exam and when I directed him to the area of discomfort he said it was the base of my bladder and that I was having spasms. I followed up with my urologist who prescribed me vesicare.
Avatar f tn You will need to so a gastroenterologist for a workup and treatment. Bladder spasms and the constant urge to void with little or no urine in your bladder is common in IC. Elavil is an antidepressant but is a first line drug to treat IC, especially when getting up frequently at night is a real problem. It helps patients sleep, and reduces pain in most IC. The dose is 10mg for 7 days then 25mg, with gradual increase to 75mg as tolerated.
Avatar m tn 4)mg but the urge to urinate was there all the time so my doctor added (Vesicare 5mg). It was good for few weeks but then the urge got stronger and I was again given Bactrim DS for 4 weeks and now even with Bactrim DC I am not feeling any better. Few days back the doctor increased the dose of Floamx to 0.8 mg and stopped the Vesicare. It did not help and the urge to urinate is there all the time and there is tightness in the bladder. I also took Celebrex for few days and it helped a little bit.
Avatar f tn Anyway, I had started on the Vesicare 10mg, for my overactive bladder. Well it appeared to be working, so when I saw my urologist, I told him for the most part it is working. Before I started the Diamox, my bladder kinda went back to the old dysfunctional way. Not completely but the freaquency came back, urges, alittle of the leakage, not as bad, the urge to go and cant, are back. Has anyone ever had this happen to them, and what could this mean? Should I go back to see my Doc?
Avatar m tn I am a 23 yo M w/ no significant past medical history. For the past 7 months I have been experiencing bilateral testicular pain only upon palpation of my testicles on a certain area next to the epididymis bilaterally. At the same time I wake up in the middle of the night 3-4 times to urinate. I went to a urologist who said I have an inf inflamed testicular cyst on the right side and possibly a case of low grade epididymitis bilaterally. He also said most likely have overactive bladder.

Avatar f tn Hi, thank you for your reply, I am very frustrated. To answer your questions- I am sexually active, with just my husband! Sex does not seem to have any affect on the symptoms. I haven't had any previous surgeries, just 3 normal delivery pregnancies. I don't seem to have any other urinary symptoms. I do have some pressure in my pelvis which comes and goes.
Avatar m tn This makes me nervous. What medication are you currently taking for the bladder problem? Is it working for you, and does it cause a problem with the heart? I would like to hear from you since I'm right in the middle of trying to find the right med.
335728 tn?1331414412 Well I have a question that I am not sure has an answer. My gp has diagnosed me with bladder spasms and has put me on Baclofen to ease the spasms hence easing the pain. I had to lower my doseage to 3mg 3 times a day which is 1/4 the regular dose of 5mg/ tid. due to the fact that I couldn't stay awake on the regular dose. I am still having quite a bit of pain.
Avatar n tn Ok here goes: I'm 28/female, pretty healthy ... on 10/6, about 1 week before I was to leave for Vegas I was extremely nervous about flying. Out of the blue I started having frequent urination problems. No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse.
Avatar f tn I have had an indwelling catheter since the first week of March. I experience bladder spasms from the balloon fof the catheter making contact with the bladderneck. My family doctor had tried me on Vesicare, but also had bad side effects from it to the extend that I preferred the spasms over the medication to treat it. I have had many occasions where I had an indwelling chatheter and they used to give Buscopan to deal with the cramping and spasms.
Avatar f tn I asked my doctor to give me an MRI or a Pelvic CT. But they will not budge. I have an appt for urologist for Cystoscopy and Bladder Scan. But I have a feeling this could be both uro/gyno and we don't have a single one anywhere near me.
Avatar m tn I have been using VESICARE for some time now, it does decrease the number of visit to the bathroom, however when you stop using it...the problem comes back. Its like it just manages the active bladder but doesn't cure it. Been using it for more than 2 years now.
Avatar f tn I have having OAB for years now, i am on vesicare medication but it is not really helping. Over the years i also been having ED here and there but recently it is getting worse...esp when i stop taking meds. Been seeing different urologist but they cant seem to find anything wrong with me. I am 34years.
