Common Questions and Answers about Vesicare bladder

vesicare

Avatar m tn About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with an overactive bladder after doing all the tests. I was put on Vesicare 5 mg daily and also was taking fluoxetine for depression and anxiety over this condition. After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I take or should I say I was taking vesicare for bladder urgency, painful bladder spasms and I was also getting burning on an extreme nature in that region, I kept thinking I had UTIs but it was neurological and another problem according to my urologist and neurologist I have two issues.
Avatar n tn Hi, The bladder spasms can make the bladder wall contract even before the bladder is completely full making the patient visit the toilet frequently. The muscle relaxants like vesicare are used for the treatment. However other methods can also be used like avoiding drinking things that act as bladder irritants such as sodas, alcohol or coffee. In some patients, electrical stimulation is applied to the nerves controlling spasms to make them relax.
Avatar m tn am a male 42 years old. I was diagnosed with minimal prostate hyperplasia and bladder neck hypertrophy. Are these two different conditions with different treatments? The urine culture always came out negative but even then I have taken oflaxcin for 6 weeks and then Bectrin DS for 4 weeks. Antibiotics help for a while but then cause more problems like stomach pain and cramps. I had leukocytes in the urine but the culture was negative. I have been on flomax (0.
Avatar n tn does anyone get headaches from taking vesicare?? They seen to go away with advil. Anyone had these symptons, did they lessen with longer use of vesicare??
Avatar m tn I went to a urologist who said I have an inf inflamed testicular cyst on the right side and possibly a case of low grade epididymitis bilaterally. He also said most likely have overactive bladder. Started me on Levaquin 500mg PO QD x 7 days and Vesicare 10mg PO QD.The cyst went down but the pain around the epdidymis persisted w/ no change. After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal.

Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed with an over-active bladder which causes incontinence and pain after urination.A urologist has prescribed medication containing Tolterodine tartrate.Should I be taking this if I am already on medication for Atrial Fibrillation? Thanks.
1056851 tn?1318720978 GP has put me on Vesicare 5mg. It is to help my incontinence. Anyone else taking this? How is it?
1188179 tn?1350116119 I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.
Avatar n tn Ok here goes: I'm 28/female, pretty healthy ... on 10/6, about 1 week before I was to leave for Vegas I was extremely nervous about flying. Out of the blue I started having frequent urination problems. No urgency (meaning I could hold it if I had too) but just frequent trips to the bathroom. No real pain or anything. I have an underlying anxiety disorder that is not controlled and I did start to panic about these symptoms which in turn probably made them worse.
Avatar f tn My symptoms are: Urethral feeling of needing to pee, a vague sense of bladder fullness even though not full. Sometimes I catch and notice my lady parts pulsating/twitching bladder and clit etc. I do not really have an appetite and am not able to eat a normal meal. Like 1/2 a plate most of the time. I am taking Vesicare, with a non standard dosing as I cannot tolerate it daily. It helps moderately.
Avatar m tn Hello, I'm new to this forum. I went to a urologist last week because for months I've been experiencing an increase in urination frequency...it actually started w/ anxiety and for awhile I just chalked it up to that. But then my anxiety sort of calmed down but my bladder didn't so I went to a uro-gyn first recommended by my regular gyn. I wasn't thrilled w/ the doctor in general but she said it was just anxiety and stress.
Avatar f tn I have having OAB for years now, i am on vesicare medication but it is not really helping. Over the years i also been having ED here and there but recently it is getting worse...esp when i stop taking meds. Been seeing different urologist but they cant seem to find anything wrong with me. I am 34years.
Avatar m tn said I had a stenosis and atrophy of the urethra. Gave me a script for Vesicare but told me to wait a few days to see how procedure goes. also mentioned estrogen Creme. I am miserable....what should I do?
Avatar n tn Urologist ran another urinalysis and did another pelvic ultrasound, again all clean and negative. He gave me 5 mg of Vesicare to take once daily and told me to come back in a month. After 2 weeks, no relief from the Vesicare, so he gave me a 10 mg doseage. I return to see him on Monday (Feb. 11). My problem is, I have had this pain for 4 months now. I don't know what to do about it. I have tried eliminating citrus, acids, caffeine, etc.
Avatar f tn ok now i am asking these very personal questions how about spasms they feel like very low bladder spasms probably more like in the urethra they are painful but come on quickly the dr. has prescribed buscopan to treat this?
Avatar f tn I am on hormone pills. Also my bladder constantly hurts, especially when it fills. Any suggestions on what may be going on and a solution to these problems.
Avatar f tn he has done urodynamics and also looked into my bladder through scope and said that nothing is wrong with my bladder and urthera,he first gave me vesicare for a month than enablex but condition still remains the same ,then i went to another general phyisican he sent me for x-ray of my lower back, results came out negative.my urlogist told me to go to neurolgist...
Avatar n tn In women it can also be endometriosis of the urinary bladder. I am sorry to say but polyps or nodules in urinary bladder are taken to be cancerous unless proved otherwise by a biopsy. You may or may not need further tests like urethroscopy, cystoscopy, IVP etc. Please discuss this with an urologist and consult your gynecologist to rule out endometriosis. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn What treatments have worked for you? The Dr. recently put me on Vesicare, but I heard it has some bad side effects, anyone have any opinions or thoughts on that?
Avatar f tn Also I urinat about 20 times a day and about 15 times at night yes I have tried vesicare and oxybutynin. I also have just had a bladder distention but all this was going on before the bladder distention.
