My physician said champix tablet can be used for 12w to quit smoking.but there is no representatives here in chennai to supply tablet and give counselling.if anyone knew pls help.
It is a drug, so yes there are side effects. It can interact with any medication you are currently taking and if you have a history of suicide, depression, or other psychological illnesses you really need to discuss this with a doctor. One of my sisters friend's had a reaction to the drug that caused insomnia, hallucinations, and paranoia. However, her reaction was very severe, is apparently rather rare, and she already had documented cases of psychiatric problems.
Give your pharmacist a call, they will know if this is a possible side effect. If it's not, you really need to get in to see your Dr to find out what happened.
I am on the patches and have been smoke free for a week! There is really no side effects that I have experienced! Depending on how many cigarettes you smoke will depend on how many MG you need to be on. You can buy them over the counter or your doctor can prescribe them as well so your insurance can help pay for them. Good luck to you!
There are side effects to every medicine. What helps the first time can have a reverse effect the next time. I have used Wellbutrin for smoking cessation under the advise of a doctor along with other medicines for my anxiety etc And It did help. But after a while I thought that I could take the medicine again for the same purpose. But I felt suicidal and that is when I did some research on internet that confirmed the side effects. So be careful and do not take medicines on your own.
will be starting on champix and will be done with ciggarretes in 2 weeks but i was told if i take ventalin and smoke pot it could kill me and i currently take symbicort and ventalin (salbutamal sulphate) but i asked a nurse about if i was to smoke sum pot one day if i didnt take the ventalin all day would i be ok and she said yes but i would like a professionals information so my question is it ok for me to take symbicort and smoke on occasion?
I have been feeling nauseous for the last month but I have been on champix to quite smoking, I have stoped smoking, but since the food poisoning I stoped champix, don't feel like smoking at all, I hate it. I am on cymbalta for fibromyalgia and extroin for thyroid. I have thought I might be post menopausal, but I am not too sure, have had no signs associated with that, and from what I know my mom started her menopause at 50 yrs old.
A friend of mine aged 51, he writes as a hobby and he started writing about killing himself etc ? went off the deep end completely after champix treatment. He turned on everyone, his wife and family. It changed him in a shocking way. Everyone thinks it is mid life crisis, and yes getting helthy and giving up cigarettes, it was time for that, but he went very depressed angry and blaming. Then he gave champix up and went manic?
Lost my job late January. ????? Finished Champix 8 months ago. ????? Dr has no idea and I am grasping at straws. Any suggestions?

Many AD's have side effects that affect the libido, guess it applies to both sex es. As far as I know all AD's have this drastic effect . Hopefully you'll find one that's OK for you . Good luck.
Yes, I've only been on it a week and I experience the muscle aches and bilateral flank pain as well. In addition, insomnia!

FINALLY SAW FEED BACK FROM THE COMMUNITY THAT VERIFIED OTHERS FEELING SAME. ANYONE FEELING ANYTHING ELSE ODD? PLEASE POST. ALSO HAVE BLOATING, IRRITABILITY. AND CONTRARY TO WHAT DOCTORS SAY, I'M ALWAYS CONSTIPATED.
Hi. I am on week 60/72, second round of treatment. I was really really sick after shot for first few months and then this resolved and became tolerable at least. I now find that I am having these same significant side effects later in tx. This didn't happen last round, but I went 48 then. Anyone else have this happen?
