My physician said champix tablet can be used for 12w to quit smoking.but there is no representatives here in chennai to supply tablet and give counselling.if anyone knew pls help.

Yes there is no smoke with harmful particles using electric cigarettes, but you still receive Nicotine. This chemical hits the Brain in less than 10 seconds and starts all kinds of chemical reactions. Heart rates increases, blood pressure increases, sugars are released into the blood to name but a few. Smoking definitely is NOT good for us ... since you had to stop while you were in hospital this would be a perfect time to quit permanently. That business about cutting back just doesn't work. You can't break a habit unless you stop completely. There are many aids avaiable today to lessen the withdrawal of nicotine. I have been feeling nauseous for the last month but I have been on champix to quite smoking, I have stoped smoking, but since the food poisoning I stoped champix, don't feel like smoking at all, I hate it. I am on cymbalta for fibromyalgia and extroin for thyroid. I have thought I might be post menopausal, but I am not too sure, have had no signs associated with that, and from what I know my mom started her menopause at 50 yrs old.
Hey guys... I'm in day 3 of quitting nicotine. I've dipped smoked chewed and done the nicotine gum habits since 2005. I quit once before and lasted 3 months before a stresser sent me back. I feel great- I just woke up the other day and out of the blue just said "I hate this habit. I'm quitting." I dunno. I'm so happy. Went to the gas station and was able to escape without my usual tin of skoal. Keep me in your prayers please that I can stay strong! Ill return the favor.
I dont drink and am not on any medication except champix to stop smoking. I have never experienced this before. I am a 53 year old male and drive for a living, so to suddenly "come to" after 2 hours of driving was a bit worrying.
Good luck on your quit date, you'll do just fine :) It sounds like ur friends that told you about this 4 week program were on some sort of aid. When you quit using like chantix or zyban you smoke for the first 2 weeks. When you smoke the nicotine binds to receptors in your body that carry the nicotine to your brain that's where the cravings come in. In these medications they block those receptors from carrying the nicotine to the brain.
There is also this tablet called Champix that I believe works well! It basically takes away the Craving for Nicotene...
Be advised when you do stop ....
Im pregnant and have failed many attempts to quit smoking...I can do it on champix but cant take that while pregnant and the patches dont work for me it feels like cold turkey and the cravings dont go away its torture....
any advice or wisdom please???
You may need the nicotine patch. Also try coffe and then chewing gum all the way to the gym. Best wishes - please post if you have any more questions.
will be starting on champix and will be done with ciggarretes in 2 weeks but i was told if i take ventalin and smoke pot it could kill me and i currently take symbicort and ventalin (salbutamal sulphate) but i asked a nurse about if i was to smoke sum pot one day if i didnt take the ventalin all day would i be ok and she said yes but i would like a professionals information so my question is it ok for me to take symbicort and smoke on occasion?
A friend of mine aged 51, he writes as a hobby and he started writing about killing himself etc ? went off the deep end completely after champix treatment. He turned on everyone, his wife and family. It changed him in a shocking way. Everyone thinks it is mid life crisis, and yes getting helthy and giving up cigarettes, it was time for that, but he went very depressed angry and blaming. Then he gave champix up and went manic?
