valtrex

Avatar n tn Since my initial outbreak of 2 ulcers (not blisters, not painful) in December, I have had these symptoms - burning and constant irritation of vagina, lower back pain, pain in inner thighs, weight loss, constipation, burning around anal area. Is it common to have lingering symptoms after an initial outbreak? I took Valtrex at initial infection and the ulcers went away in about 6 days. Also, does low IGG = mild infection?
Avatar n tn at this point it's really a chicken and the egg type thing. the vast majority of folks who take valtrex don't experience hair loss. most folks who do, experience it initially when diagnosed and go on valtrex and are incredibly stressed. for most , it does come back. I do know of less than a handful of folks who experienced hair loss while on valtrex, they could find no other cause for it and even after stopping the valtrex the hair loss did not stop.
Avatar m tn Are you having any other accompanying symptom like fever, fatigue, extreme weight loss, yellowness of urine, decreased appetitie etc? The small swellings in your armpit can be folliculitis, boils, hidradenitis suppurativa(skin disease that affects areas bearing sweat glands and hair follicles) and swollen lymph nodes.A clear cut diagnosis can only be made after examination.Pls consult a dermatologist for that. As for the hives, antihistaminics like benadryl or Claritin will help.
719124 tn?1230329087 A couple of days ago, he called their office again, pretty much upset and demanding results. His loss has progressed to complete loss of hearing in the left ear and partial loss of hearing in the right ear, and it's affecting his work. The nurse to whom he spoke at the ENT's office said it was likely viral and called in a prescription for Valtrex as well as a course of prednisone. He was upset about the Valtrex until I explained that herpes viruses were a family of viruses...
Avatar f tn Is hair loss a side effect of Valacyclovir/Valtrex when taken for suppressive therapy?
Avatar n tn I would encourage your provider and you to seek out other reasons for your slight hypertension, and also appropriate medication and/or exercise and weight loss (if appropriate). If you have no kidney disease, you need no dose adjustment.
Avatar f tn I went to my doctor told him about the ER diagnosis and he prescribed me Valtrex.. I have had monthly outbreaks since then. After about a year I asked to be "officially" tested. My blood draw returned with a negative result for HSV 1 and HSV 2. They did a redraw which was also negative. However, valtrex did help alleviate my symptoms.
Avatar n tn One week ago I suddenly experienced hearing loss and facial numbness on the right side of my head. I was sent for an MRI with contrast to check for acoustic neuroma. The test was negative and I still have no hearing and I still have the numbness. My physician is scratching his head as my symptoms don't fit other disorders. Any ideas? Thanks!
Avatar m tn he told me that I most likely had herpes (without examining me again) and gave me a prescription for Valtrex and a form to have my blood taken to confirm what he was positive about. I was devestated as I am in a monogamous relationship and have never had an STD in my whole life not to mention... I was NOT experiancing vaginal itching or lesions. my vaginal discharge is normal and I am in otherwise good health.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with CAEBV in Feb of this year. My doctor prescribed 2g 2x/day valtrex. When I took it I couldn't move. I went from needing a rest after each activity to taking 30 minutes to figure out to move my body to the bathroom. My doc said I could reduce the dosage so I started taking 1g in the day and 2 at night. I was still very limited but could function for one activity a day and could lay in bed and read books/play games with my kids.
Avatar m tn 08, I learned to prevent an outbreak via 2000mg Valtrex during tingle. After a few preventions I no longer need Valtrex and can suppress it naturally except for being sick, or lot of UV exposure. Outbreak free for 6 weeks, my questions: 1. On my lips, at the site of prior infections (it jumps around), even though I haven't had an outbreak in this particular location for a few months, I often having a burning sensation here and other places on my lips.
Avatar m tn fast weight loss is most of the time lost water and muscles. Fat takes ages to go away. Third: Think of a diet as something permanent. Crash diets just help you gain weight faster once they are over. So, pick some simple rules of a balanced and healthy diet, and follow them. Don't sweat it if you crave for something "bad", to a balanced diet belongs the bad side, too. If you give in now to a small piece of chocolate, it is much better than to eat two whole packages later.
Avatar f tn Yes please talk to your dr, there are many things that could cause rapid or excessive weight loss and some of them can be serious. In addition to Thyroid and GI testing maybe ask about diabetes. It seems odd, but it can cause weight loss.
Avatar f tn I promise you your completely fine. I'm 19 weeks haven't gained any weight. Lost weight and the baby is perfect. It didn't matter how tall or how much you weight as long as baby measures up during ultrasound it's perfectly fine.
Avatar f tn More can be lost through water weight with diuretics and crash dieting can also increase fat loss but only for a short time. When we lose fat too fast our metabolism will slow in order to conserve fat (fuel) deposits (starvation mode) and that creates new problems such a resetting the metabolic rate and fat gains during the plateau, etc.
10299247 tn?1409208876 I am 19 weeks and have lost 23 lbs. I to was about 185 when I got pregnant and was considered over weight. My Dr isn't concerned at all about weight loss and I have been terribly sick the whole pregnancy too. Dr just tells me to eat what I can and what will stay down. Also to drink lots of water. Right now baby girl is measuring a head of schedule so as long as she's fine I'm fine. If your dr isn't concerned I wouldn't be either.
