valtrex side effects fatigue

My husband and I both have an outbreak every time we have sex which is ruining our sex life. Long term effects of valtrex use is unknown outside of possible renal/liver imparement & I'm just not sure if I should continue taking it. Anyone else have similar experience or advice? Thanks!

I forgot to add that I have never had a breakout/rash. There is one cut that always appears and goes away with medication. I get it every month, since being diagnosed 4 months ago :( Not too bad, but I have a partner and want to do everything in my power to stop risk of spreading.

valtrex and acyclovir have the same basic side effects. Valtrex is turned into acyclovir inside the body.

Are you having side effects? Or you just want to know if side effects are possible? Side effects are possible with any drug.

It can take a few months to separate disease activity from treatment side-effects unless its something obvious like Copaxone welts. Be sure to mention this to your team when you go for the second infusion so this gets put in your notes and you get feedback from the pros. Im not to comfortable with him, he never told me about valtrex possible side effects. I had look information of valtrex and my symptoms are very similar to valtrex side effects including confusion, agressive behavior, low state of consiousness, rash, nausea, allergic reactions and visual abnormalities. write to you later, have a nice day.

It does bother me that's why I'm asking how good does it suppress the virus?

They are not continuous and usually wear off in time. As i said above, with valtrex i get very bad side effects, ie. depressed and moody. I am normally very even keeled so the effects are very pronounced to the point where I even want to stay away from my family and 6 month old which is very uncharacteristic for me. Any advice on another means to suppression or treatment. Thanks for all of your help.

do all of these crappy (literally) side effects EVER fade??? ive only been on the combined treatment for a month now....it just seems to b getting worse...the vomitting, crapping, fatigue,body aches, head aches, raw throat and mouth....i just hate to ask my docs for all kinds of meds....just wondering if it gets better closer to the one year marker????

My mother just had her 1st shot of Lucentis. She has a small leak. She is also on Glaucoma eye drops. She is experiencing extreme fatigue and she said her thoughts/memory seem fuzzy. How long do these side effects last? My mother is a small person who doesn't take any other medications except for the eyes. She works out everyday. She isn't up to that either. Does she have to get these every 4 weeks or can they space them out more or lesser dose?

I started noticeing side effects at about 8pm, and they continued till this morning. I experienced a low grade headache, aches in my upper legs and lower back, some difficulty sleeping, and an awkward kind of dizziness (which I notice now seems to immediately follow my Riba dose). I am a Genotype 1b, with what I was told a 6log Viral load?? I have clean and sober for over 6 years, and am pretty sure I contracted the virus about 7-8 years ago..

The side effects are too severe to continue on Valtrex. Dr. said to try acyclovir, but research shows it has the same ingredients only in lower milligram strength. Has anyone, who couldn't tolerate Valtrex, have success with acyclovir?

I am really tired, just washed out, and stay in bed until 10 or 11 each morning. Is fatigue a side effect of effexor? Colud my fatigue be related to something else?

I am in week 4 of the Olysio/Sovaldi combo therapy and am disappointed at the side effects I'm experiencing. Prior to starting the treatment I was very encouraged by what I was finding on the boards, especially after two bad experiences with interferon treatment and an allergic reaction to ribavirin. Unfortunately I am experiencing maddening itching which I'm controlling with Allegra and extreme fatigue and an all around foggy feeling.

I also take Acebutolol. Just wondering what types of side effects people have experienced while being on these meds? Since being on them I notice that I am much more tired than usual. I also notice my muscles and joints ache and get fatigued very easily...i went from running 3 or 4 miles, to getting tired walking up the stairs...the medicine keeps my heart rate in check, but with consequences I really feel that the medicine is to blame...

I used both, and found that side effects are similar; tiredness, weight gain, and a slow pulse. Side effects are more pronounced as the dosage is increased. I had dosages from 25mg to 200mg. daily. Other reported effects are loss of libido, tightness in the chest, itching, irregular breathing, and irregular heartbeat. If you have any further questions, I'd be happy to respond based on my experience with the drug.
