What is the procedure for getting a Valtrex prescription?? Every time I go to this doctor I go to, he writes me a prescription for 3 months. And when the refills are up calling in to ask for more is not an option. They actually want you to come into the office. I don't have time to keep doing this. And I really don't see the point!?!? What needs to be looked at? Nothing is going to change!
The NEW Doctor tells me that the only difference between taking Valtrex (what I have been taking) to Acyclovir (What they now want to prescribe) is the number of times a day you take it. I looked online...they say that Valtrex does a better job of helping you not to transmit the virus (most of this information provided by GlaxoSmithKline of course). The supression study has them identical. I am in a relationship where I really enjoy our "personal time".

Recently (in the last year) I found two more prescriptions for my girl friend, both for Valtrex. I also found a prescription for Ciproflaxin (a powerful antibiotic). As I continue to research these medicines I have a feeling she is not being entirely up front with me. I plan to confront her again on the Valtrex prescription but I wanted to check with experts and see if this medicine is used commonly for anything else other than Herpes.

I need a valtrex prescription and the family doctor gave me some without prescription, the doctor asked to do a blood test for hsv type 1 (had around 6 cold sores at the time, valtrex worked wonders). At the time, I coudnt test for hsv because of taking valtrex but now i need a daily dose but i'm taking 1000mg lysine everyday. Will lysine affect the blood test result of hsv type 1? Do i need to stop taking it to test positive?

OK. So its been nearly 2 months since I've been diagnosed with this inconvenience. Since I never had a "noticeable outbreak", every little itch or tingling that I get spooks me (The reason why I say that is because the time I had sex with my ex, I did have some tingling and 5 days later he had small blisters on his penis, so I know he contracted it from me).

I started this outbreak last weekend, I got diagnosed with Herpes (by my Gyn.) on tuesday and I did the 3 day Valtrex. now all those sores I have are almost gone and I find this NEW sore, up just above my pubic hair area (had no idea you could get them there either)

Ok I was prescribed valtrex from my doctor. on the prescription it said I supposed to take it every 24 hours for 10 days but there's 30 pills n the bottle. Yesterday was the 10th day but I still have the break outs, this is rlly driving me crazy!

Both my original Valtrex prescription and my current Acyclovir prescription state that I should take the medication for up to a year. I've done that.
