Can the Valtrex I have been taking affect the results? I know I have several strains of HPV, could that have given me a false postive? Please help!

I walked down the blocks and immediately bought a bottle Valtrex maybe 10 minutes after and took 500mg followed by 500mg more 12 hours later, and will probably continue for 14 days. I know Herpes tends to infect Epithelial cells first, then Mac's and T-cells and B-cells and various lymph cells before it eventually makes its way to a sensory nerve cell to enter a lysogenic lifecycle, in which case there's no getting rid of it.

do u mean carrier of hpv on cervix or genital warts?have ur paps cme up clean for hpv?my understanding of genital herpes is once u get it u always have it..and partner can get infected when u have outbreak and not taking valtrex....important question is ur partners hx of std's and what he could b bringing to u!

It is your responsibility to have protected sex, especially having both STDs. HPV is a virus like herpes and can linger forever. Everyone is different. I have seen people with HPV have nothing for 10 years and then it recurs. Your partner is gambling with his health by not using a condom.

Since then I have had 2 minor outbreaks, both on my waist near the navel. I currently use Valtrex when I feel an outbreak coming on and it seems to suppress the symptoms. I'm recently in a new relationship and need to discuss with my new partner before we become sexually active, but before I do I had a couple of questions. Since my outbreaks are on the waist a condom will obviously not cover that area.

he knows of my status and i take daily valtrex. he was also recently diagnosed with hpv (he had warts). his major concern is getting hsv from me. i rarely have outbreaks and i take suppressive therapy daily and i always check myself. what are the risks of him contracting it if we have a long term relationship? is it eventually inevitable? ive read and heard so much conflicting info.

I was tested the year prior and came back negative for both. Additionally, I have not had any symptoms. I immediately began taking Valtrex to avoid infecting my fiance (but I had been with a number of women since my last negative test). Last week (14-Jun-11) I went to my new dr for annual testing and requested HSV retesting. My results came back negative for both (HSV1: 0.12; HSV2: 0.06). My fiance has never tested positive.

t sound at all like a hpv infection going on. Any hpv you had in your body 10 years ago, has most likely cleared itself anyways and is no longer there to be an issue. at this point your partner needs tested to see what his status is. A newly acquired herpes infection can linger for 2-3 weeks easily, even longer without proper treatment. Waiting to start the valtrex so long into things helps but not much as far as speeding healing.

Then u would probably be prescribed to use Valtrex, so whenever you have the same symptoms, use Valtrex to treat it. The first outbreak of HPV is normally the worst and the longest, hopefully u only get to experience it once, as it it quite painful and irritating! recently diagnosed with hsv 1 & 2 genital. started valtrex suppressive theory approx 24 days ago. i came down with an infection on a peritonsillat abscess which compromised my white blodd cell count to nearly 9000 and was eventually hospitalized to get condition and pain from abscess under control. now home i feel tingling and noticed one small vaginal lesion, obviously my hpv. this would be my 2nd outbreak ever so i dont know what to expect.

They have been there for at least 2 years or so. I tried a lot of different antibiotics, cream for scar, valtrex, even with 800mg aciclovir ( I was tested positive for both types of herpes ). They did not go away. They are not painful, no discharge, tiny, not clustered. They dont seem to increase. When I went to the doctor she took a look and said herpes without testing me and put me on valtrex and said if it goes away its herpes.
