valtrex and rash

t been bothered by the elbow bumps much, but recently I felt a herpes ob coming on, and I took about 4 Valtrex pills a dayfor 2 days - the skin on my elbows got really dry and then the rash came up at both elbows and in all the other places. I keep reading that Valtrex doesn't cause allergies - but why do I seem to be having a reaction to it? the Valtrex seems to really dry out my skin and scalp also.

I upped Valtrex to 1500mg a day for five days and nothing happened. Could I be allergic to the Valtrex and only have a rash on part of my body? Any ideas what to do? I thought it might be a herpes rash, but I would think after ten years, the rash would go away within 7-12 days. It seems to be getting worse even using the Valtrex. Any help would be appreciated.

Although, about a week ago I started experiencing some problems and went back to my dr and confirmed that I have HSV2. I started taking Valtrex and Cleocin for a bacterial infection and my outbreak. I'm not sure which medication it was, but i now have a rash on my chest and arms. My question is, is there still a possibility that I have HIV? Now i havent had outbreaks im doing good I been on 500mg valtrex and i get a rash on hands as soon as I come off valtrex the rash is gone. Now i stopped taking valtrex and i get a mild pain in armpits after i shave a week ago and had a lump on my right arm almost sure it is lymph node from what im reading in the internet. The lump is 1cm not big at all but it hurts.

I feel so bloated, tired and dizzy while on acyclovir. My dr said we could try valtrex...but if it's the same, what's the point? Any other people with similar side effects that found solutions?

Although i had only one small red spot, I experienced three days of extremely intense back and uterine pain prior to my doctor visit. On Tuesday, a rash, wrapping around my middrift ,appeared. The pain intensified to the point of no return. (I suffered nerve damage from a botched angiogram in July/09, so I know pain well.) ive just finished and im was getting small bumps on my forehead and big rash spots on my neck that itch real bad at times. i think any of this kind of stuff is normal even after you quit, at least for a while. mine calmed down today and i think is subsiding. i figure that all those topical treatments wont help much. i expect it to be gone soon.

Any way i started valtres and topical steroid the same day and just after single application of topical steroid and valtrex my rash started to get better.Blisters were gone the next day and by3rd day my rash was cleared.I called my doctor again who thinks herpes does'nt clear that fast.I never had any history of any STD now i am freaking out.Is it herpes do u think.

Husband has had HSV-2 for 14 years. He has taken Valtrex for suppression and outbreak treatments during our 7 yr. marriage. We also use condoms consistently. I tried to ride it out for the first month then got on Valtrex. It starts to go away and crust over the teeny tiny little pimple but before it totally heals, it starts all over with the sharp pain and prodromal feeling throughout my body.
