herpes around the eye can be dangerous which is why seeing an ophthalmologist for a proper and more complete eye exam is always recommended. it's always recommended that you get a full exam to make sure it's not infected the eye but is only infecting the skin around the eye. you really should call monday, let them know why you need seen and get seen this week.
there will not be a cure for herpes by the end of this year dear. You need to accept that you have it and treat it.
At the end of last summer I started getting a lot of irritation in my genital area and muscle fatigue in my groin, testicles, penis and left leg. I couldn't even sleep. I plan on going back to the std clinic next Wednesday so I can ask more questions b/c my primary Dr seems to not be on her A game when it comes to this situation.
On Thursday I saw the dermatologist and he said it was likely a bad bacterial infection, gave me strong ointment and antibiotic Clindamycin HCL, the ointment Altabax retapamulin 1% and said if it didn't at least feel a little better in the morning go to the hospital. I entered the emergency room Friday morning in major pain, and with a disfigured face. I was admitted Friday evening and given an iv drip with 6 rounds of antibiotic.

I'm not sure that I understand your response.
1. I think that you meant to say that "experience tells us that when people ?quit? taking the valacyclovir, they sometimes do have an outbreak soon after that." This is my concern, that the valacyclovir takes over and that the body's immune response is less engaged in fighting the infection. Do you see what I mean?

And although recurrent outbreaks can occur while taking valacyclovir, they are rare -- and monthly is unheard of. It is possible your HSV has become resistant to the drug, but that's quite rare as well.
As for valacyclovir side effects, you needn't worry.
I was diagnosed with Herpes 33 years ago and have been using 1000 mg Valacyclovir a day for the past 4 years and have been free of outbreaks until a few weeks ago when I lost my job and became quite stressed.
I was able to take one extra tablet of 500 mg which stopped the outbreak from turning into blisters, but I am concerned if this medication is not working for me anymore.
I also wonder if Valacyclovir is the same as Valtrex or if Valtrex is stronger?

I'm on daily 1 gram valacyclovir for suppressive therapy. I can feel a new outbreak coming. Would it help if a take the valacyclovir twice daily for a couple of days to help with the OB?
The Symptoms for the over production of HCL, and the under production of HCL, are virtually identical. The both cause Reflux, Belching, Bloating, Abdominal Discomfort, Irrecular Stools, etc. Unfortunately many doctors are prescribing Proton Pump Inhibitors or pH Blocking Medications to their Patiens which is making them Achlorhydric.

Have a bad headache and no pain meds at home. Have a little of the Buprenorphine hcl left from when my cat was neutered. It was given to him orally at a dose of 0.3cc. I looked it up and it looks like a "human" drug also, but am wondering if I am able to take this.

Thanks for your encouragement. It wasn't tile cleaner. It was muriatic acid which is industrial grade hcl. I was just worried (and still am a little). I do know that the stomach contains hcl (my undergrad was a double math bio major but thanks)...
I hope I don't worry this much about EVERYTHING during my pregnancy...
