Avatar f tn he was prescribed aciclovir and valaciclovir both at 200mg every 8 hours for 30 days. From what I have read so far it seems that it is usually one or the other not both. He was able to obtain the aciclovir but not able to find valaciclovir anywhere in Cuba at this time...should the one be enough for the first outbreak...and perhaps controlling any future outbreaks should he use the valaciclovir??

When I showed the doctor I did notice that there is a like a single yellow blister, although it is generally reddish and that immediate area was slightly painful.
Avatar f tn I'm not a doctor, and PLEASE check with your doctor before taking anything, but what I'm finding is that it's okay, and may help. Definitely check with your doctor first to make sure it's safe for YOU to take, given your health and your health history. https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/CIRCEP.116.004521 https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Heart-Rhythm/Does-Afib-ever-go-away/show/1645894 https://www.medhelp.org/posts/Heart-Rhythm/Magnesium-for-Heart-Palpitations/show/1447103?
Avatar f tn post_id=post_3204884) Quix had mentioned that an adverse reaction I was having to vitamins might be due to magnesium stearate, a common binder used in making tablets. So I have been looking into this, comparing ingredients of vitamins and medications. Oh, and thanks Quix for the info last month. The Vit-D tablet I was taking that caused the adverse reaction contained dicalcium phosphate, which appears in many tablets as well.

Avatar m tn The inactive ingredients in Meloxicam (MOBIC) tablets include colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, and sodium citrate dihydrate. So, the sodium content should be in very minute quantities. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Went to doctors, he gave me Doxycycline + Valaciclovir + cream to put on wound - Tuesday/Wednesday (same week): foreskin wound starts to heal. - Thursday (same week): clear sign of healing - Friday (same week): looks almost healed with pink/reddish new skin (shines when light on it) but a yellow tip (very small) that looks like pus (but no fluid) at the very centre. Avatar f tn I would stop taking the valaciclovir. If you are uncomfortable with this approach then I suggest you get ONE more test. I predict it will be negative and when it is, then stop the valaciclovir. Sorry to hear you are going through this. I hope my comments are helpful.
Avatar n tn Magnesium is (as Itdood said) in fact an antiarrhythmic drug (a calcium channel blocker) and it's not known to have proarrhythmic effects (except if you suffer severe hypermagnesemia, and you would have arrhythmias anyway). Magnesium chloride and magnesium sulphate is given IV to convert dangerous (ventricular) arrhythmias. In some people (including me), magnesium have a great effect suppressing PACs.
10168 tn?1470588977 Synthroid fillers/binders/dyes include acacia, confectioner’s sugar (contains corn starch), lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, povidone, and talc. Some of the color additives include FD&C Yellow No. 6 (in 25 mcg tablets), FD&C Red No. 40 and FD&C Blue No. 2 (in 75mcg strength), etc. If you are having reactions to Synthroid, you might just want first to switch to another brand which has different fillers/binders. What type of reactions are you having?
Avatar n tn Most capsules contain magnesium stearate as an inactive ingredient. However, the liquid forms (syrup) of Zantac, Axid and Pepcid do not contain magnesium.
Avatar f tn I took valaciclovir during my first trimester of pregnancy (around 10 weeks) for a cold sore. I took the medication for 3 consecutive days. I read online that the medication is considered a class B drug and has no increased risk for birth defects. I am a bit worried now and wanted a second opinion.
Avatar n tn I was given 500mg Azithromycin which appeared to clear symptons (discomfort when passing stools, mucus discharge, gas) within 48hours. I also took Doxycycline and Valaciclovir for around 10 days as a precaution until I was cleared of Chlamyda and herpes. In the last two days I have felt some discomfort inside my anus again, and today I noticed more mucus was still on my stool. Could this still be my body healing from the infection, or could it be back/something else?
Avatar f tn re all reacting to the magnesium stearate. It is one of the most common binders in most tablets. Magnesium can certainly be a vasoldilator, causing the flushing. I am on 6,500 IU Vit D daily after discovering that I was pitifully low even on 1400 IU daily for the last four years. Vit D is really a potent modulator of the immune system. I am being blown away by what I am reading in the scientific literature.
Avatar n tn So the immediate Valtrex (Valaciclovir) consumption was my lame attempt to fix a dumb error, but while on my walk home I started thinking about what I could have picked up and I figured that I'd hate myself later even more if I walked passed the pharmacy and didn't start a regimen of Valtrex just in case it actually did something. Hell if I have the virus, at least I won't get huge lesions this week or the next.

4256522 tn?1351800098 From the IC network forums: "Levothyroxine has BHA (butylated hydroxyansisole) listed in the inactive ingredients. This synthetic additive is listed in the "caution" section on the IC Diet list. No wonder! I always flare from these ingredients. I looked up Synthroid's inactive ingredients and they are all natural plant or food additives, except for magnesium stearate which I don't flare from. I am calling my doctor in the morning and have her switch me over to Synthroid.
Avatar n tn That same day, I noticed a cold sore coming on. I have a prescription for Valaciclovir but only had one pill remaining. I took it and the cold sore never appeared. The rash down there did not get any better. I have heard that most people often confuse herpes for razor burn. Could I be having outbreaks and mistaking it for razor burn?
