I am 58 yrs old, have BPH and had not taken medicine for the condition, as symptoms were not that bad. While in S. America in November, I had pain which was thought to be from kidney stones. I was given scopolamine. The doctor didn't ask about BPH and I didn't know that the med had side effects related to prostate. It became hard to urinate any more than small quantities at a time. I began retaining fluids, something that was determined after I returned home to US.

I need a reliable second opinion: Do these sound like prostatitis symptoms, and considering these treatments, should I consider myself on the way "out of the woods"? Is it normal to still have discomfort after ejaculation and difficulty urinating?
I have had an ultrasound of the prostate which checked out fine and have been tested for chlamydia and gonorhea, which both came back negative. I am currently taking uroxatral and avodart daily, and am curious as to why I am still having symptoms. Is it possible of being overmedicated? Or is there something that has been missed? If so what other possibilities are there?

This second time produces much less fluid and takes longer but still does not give me satisfaction. To get out that last quirt, I have to reach under my penis and put pressure on the urethra at the base of my scrotum. Also, the symptoms are worse after a bowel movement - I feel as if I could push/release urine all day - after a while, I give up. I am not bothered by it during sleep.

I explained that the pain was still present and I was experiencing coldness in the tip of my penis. He prescribed Bactrim and Uroxatral. This helped, but faded like the previous attempts. Over the course of the past two years I have been pumped full of antibiotics. The last one was 750 mg of Levaquin. This is some serious stuff. I thought I was going to die at one point. This took care of the pain and I have regained normal urinary function.

i am 26 year old and have a high blood pressure since a week and from past 4 days somtimes in a day i also feel pain in my head on the left hand side. the high bp problem started, when i joined gym, i took tenolol 25mg to control my bp and i was fine afterwards. But now again the high bp problem has started after a month and when i did a little work today i am feeling in my brain like,i shall sleep now and feeling uncomfortable.
but do any of you constantly check your blood pressure and heart rate..i woke up this morning and my blood prssure was 90/70 and heartrate was 111 i felt kinda week....its gone up now but sometimes it goes high like 140/86...then it goes normal it scares me....my heart rate goes up cause im on adderall and my anxiety gets so bad and im on prozac..been on prozac two months and i cant tell it doing much neither is the adderall......
I'm betting you are just fine. It is anyone's guess how accurate a public Blood Pressure machine is, and also, I'm betting you sit down and immediately test your pressure. It is best if you are at rest for a few minutes prior to the test. That said, your blood pressure results aren't very high. I'd enjoy the surfing and quit worrying.
2 weeks ago I was in the 160s/90 my doctor put me on a very high dose of blood pressure meds. I refused to take them. I asked for bed rest instead he said no and insisted on b the meds. So I switched am now on bed rest at the hospital and my blood pressure has not been higher than 125/70. Rest rest and rest it will help. Don't over think about it. You will be fine mama.
If you look at old forum threads on Blood Pressure and TX, you will find that many people develop high BP, Metabolic Syndrome, Thyroid problems, and even autoimmunity after doing tx. The BP issue seems to appear in many right after getting off of tx. Search for old threads and you will find lots of info on this subject. Personally I think that the high BP that appears for a group of us after tx may come from the development of a degree of autoimmunity.
Your mother's blood pressure is in the high range of low blood pressure. If and when it gets to about 50/33 it is considered dangerous. Regarding sepsis most individuals survive severe sepsis and recover completely and their lives return to normal and hopefully there is no permanent kidney damage.
Sometimes drinking 5 to 7 glasses of water per day can help normalize blood pressure and heart rate.
So I had a recent doctors visit back in May and my blood pressure was 120/80. Not too shabby. At this point I didnt even know what blood pressure was but I knew mine was good. However now that I knew what BP was I, being anxious about my health, wanted to learn more.
So a month later I (and lots of anxious research later) I found a supermarket BP machine and got a reading of 137/80. Noticibly higher.
