776572 tn?1360290739 When I first got the O strips, I had difficulty reading the urine strips O test. There were a few months that I wasn't sure if the line was dark enough - not sure if I just caught it ahead of time or just missed it. I got the CBE monitor and found that much easier to read. BBT does not work for me as my temps are very low and all over the place. When I went to the RE he monitored me and I definitely O each month.
Avatar f tn You do not need to test with early morning urine. I usually test btwn 12 and 2pm, and my RE office says that is the best time. You can in fact test anytime, but I think 2ish is good.
492921 tn?1321289896 It tests your saliva and not your urine for electrolyte changes when you have LH and Estrogen changes pinpointing your ovulation day. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of this or anyone has any experience and if it really is worth the money. Most the testimonials on the website say they fell pregnant first cycle they used it. I just have a hard time believing testimonial from a company site there always going to be rave reviews.
170935 tn?1225371076 how? the opk's I have are just strips you dip in your urine and they show 2 lines if your ovulating and 1 line if your not...will it show 2 lines if your pregnant like when your ovulation?
Avatar f tn Testing the urine is one way to check for ketones. You can pick up urine test strips at your local drug store. Just follow the instruction to do the test. If I remember right if the test strip turnes pick you have ketones in your urine, plus the strip tells you if there is blood, glucose, and a couple other things. But If I were you I would go get checked out just incase. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Random Lh surges are not uncommon. That is why there is a window to test during. Results outside of this time are ambiguous and should not be considered. I tested every day for a full cycle, just to see what would happen. Four separate surges. The only one that counted was the one during the test time frame, which was confirmed by bbt.
Avatar f tn I am trying to track my ovulation using strips that detect my LH surge. Today is Tuesday and my strip showed positive for LH. My husband does not come home until Friday. Is it still possible to conceive or will it be too late??
Avatar n tn You mentioned you did the test just before your period...I've just had the FSH/LH test done and was told to do it on cycle day 3 as that's when the hormone cycle starts again. During the cycle LH levels will rise and fall depending how far you are into it. For example, LH will rise close to Ovulation and then Peak to release the egg. I'm not exactly sure what happens during the luteal phase, but I assume it falls again.
1240856 tn?1333440354 I us Answer (I’m pretty sure that’s the) brand. It comes with 20 test strips instead of 2-3 test sticks. Ohh and most important thing read the directions to find out how long you have to wait. I know my test strips take 3mins and I have read test sticks take much longer.
849762 tn?1288184748 Hi, I am still getting dark lines on my ovulations strips and I am 20 dpo. How many dpo are you? I would go get Clearblue preg test and even if a faint line appears.. you're pregnant. Let us know!!!
101705 tn?1273661268 what time are you using the LH strips? you want to test in the afternoon (at the same time) rather than first thing in the morning, since your surge typically happens then. the clear blue monitor i found easier to use as well, but it is expensive if you chart your temp for a few months ina row, you should get a pretty good feel for when you are ovulating.
601801 tn?1225592345 Here is an article from pee on a stick . com: Most HPT's are pretty straightforward. They detect hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin, the "pregnancy hormone") in urine. If hCG is present, 2 pink lines (or a blue + sign) appear in the results window. If hCG is not present (or present in such a teeeeeeeeny tiny amount that it's not yet detectable), only 1 pink line (or a blue - sign) appear in the results window.
1923882 tn?1352250106 I love the digital OPK's. So much easier to use. I am however going to give you a little extra info on the best time to use them. The reason the directions say fmu is because that is when it is most concentrated. And for most people, that is fine. The only problem can be is if you are one of those women with a short window of time between a positive test and actual ovulation. You probably know that OPK's test for a surge of the hormone LH.
568728 tn?1220588648 I ovulated on monday 1st September 2008 i know that because i get really bad cramps, yesturday Thursday 4th September 2008 was the first time ever i bought an ovulation kit (First Response 7 Strips + 1 Pregnancy test) from a pharmacy.
1102816 tn?1257879517 On Sunday I took the First Response Ovulation test in the morning and it came back positive two lines were the same color...so we had sex that night. Yesterday I took another test around 9:30pm and it came back positive again. Can i get two LH surges two days in a row? If so, did I go about it right having sex two days in a row? Since I got a positive test last night as well should I follow the instructions and have sex tonight as well?
372284 tn?1264849731 You do have to buy a new kit each time, rather than buying extra test strips. (It comes with 7 test strips.) Good luck !!!
Avatar f tn com website. They are the test strips that you dip in the urine. Well last time I was pregnant (which ended in m/c) I started with a faint line that got darker every day closer to O'ing, but the line never got as dark as the control line. We just BD'd every day the week I was fertile (which worked the very first time!!).
Avatar n tn But if you really did have something wrong like a gallstone or other bile blockage, then the urine test will remain constant in showing the problem on repeated tests. If you didn't have the strip stored properly, the testing chemicals on the strip will become compromised/contaminated and will give you the crazy results. Be sure your test strips are stored in a small, airtight container. And that you use a clean urine collection cup as well.
Avatar f tn I pee in the morning and then my 2nd urine of the day is when I test- somewhere between 10am and 2 pm.
Avatar f tn I have been scared of ngu or some other form of infection. I have used multiply uti test strips which test white blood cell count in urine. None have been positive, one or two showed trace amount of wbc (I've taken about 18 tests). Would these show an infection (ngu) if one existed???
2093372 tn?1473257954 Do you know roughly when you normally ovulate? How long do your cycles usually last? I wouldn't test till AF comes, because it's most likely you've missed ovulation this cycle. Start fresh next cycle from about cd9/10, and make sure you're having sex every other day (not every day). When using OPKs, they're different from a pregnancy test. A pregnancy test is best using with first morning urine, but an OPK is best used between the hours of 1pm-8pm.
Avatar f tn I am 29 years old. I've been tracking my ovulation using Answer 20-day strips. I've always had irregular periods. The first day of my last period was 7/28. I started getting positive LH surge results starting on 8/08. But I have continued to have a positive ovulation test every day since... it's been 12 days so far. I never did detect the egg-white mucous associated with ovulation as I have in months past.
1263939 tn?1270698138 I got my ovulation test strips online and it said (for mine at least, this is my first time using one) that if the test line is as dark as, or darker than the control line, then you are ovulating. But if the test line is absent or lighter than the control line, then it's a negative result- not ovulating.
Avatar n tn The test strips that I use are 10LG Parameter Urine Reagent Strips which can be bought on line at a reasonable price. These strips detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose. You can get strips that detect less. The one that would be of interest if someone is suffering from dehydration is the Specific Gravity reading.
