urine test strips used

I have been scared of ngu or some other form of infection. I have used multiply uti test strips which test white blood cell count in urine. None have been positive, one or two showed trace amount of wbc (I've taken about 18 tests). Would these show an infection (ngu) if one existed???

They were could one step pregnancy test(10miu) i used them the same day as first response. Internet ones gave me what looked like an evap line where first response gave me a nice dark second line, they were done at 11 dpo. Dont think i'll use them again they keep you guessing.

they were all urine test i used FRER test i hope i get a blood test at the docs monday to confirm im just so worried but i know its best to loose it this early at 6 weeks than for it to a stillbirth again i just want this so bad im really upset its going to be really hard to wait on the other test

Im in the UK and it seems the first step is the urine test according to my NHS walk in centre but you can ask for the blood test straight away if your really worried....but I think that depends on any symptoms. Ive heard different opinions on the urine test though, I have been told that its no good by one or two people but then afew others have said its fine for an intial check. Ive had a urine test and it was ok so Im just curious, as it was clear is that it? am I clear for diabetes? thanks.

But if you really did have something wrong like a gallstone or other bile blockage, then the urine test will remain constant in showing the problem on repeated tests. The test strips that I use are 10LG Parameter Urine Reagent Strips which can be bought on line at a reasonable price. These strips detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose. You can get strips that detect less. The one that would be of interest if someone is suffering from dehydration is the Specific Gravity reading.

a while passed and the blood wasnt back so I asked the nurse if he would repeat the urine test, but it front of me. He did, the test he used came up with a second line, but it was much lighter then the control line, and he told me that this was a negative result. I didnt argue with him.......my bloodwork came back and my hcg was over 500....

Yes, a urine quick test can tell you if you have WBC, but not if you have gonorrhea, chlamydia, NGU or another infection that could be causing that. You need specific tests for that. If you have concerns about those, you need to let the doctor know so they can do specific tests.

I again bought urine strips that detect blood only, and the strips shows non-hemolyzed trace only after drinking beer or coffee. If I drink a glass of water with a tsp of baking soda, the test strips come out negative. I guess my question is "is it harmful to drink a glass of baking soda water daily?", or should I return to the doctor and go thru kidney x-rays, cystoscopy, etc again? I really hate to give up my coffe ...

My cycles have been anything from 27 to 40 days in the last six months, with the 40 days being my last cycle but averaging around 32/34 days. I have never used the test strips before and the instructions given are for those with regular cycles. What day would be the best for me to start using them?

I just bought an ovulation kit that uses 7 test sticks. Last time I used one it was a box of 30 test sticks. Does anyone know what the difference is between them and if one is better than the other??

I frequently use urine test strips to test my urine when I feel unwell that may be waterwork problem. Have had kidney stone surgically removed in the past. Nitrite on the stick will mean that it is a bladder problem - usually Cystitis. Positive leucocyte reading on the stick with or without signs of protein, usually means that there is a bacterial infection. If the doctor said you have a uti (urinary tract infection) this is anywhere from the kidneys down.

Testing the urine is one way to check for ketones. You can pick up urine test strips at your local drug store. Just follow the instruction to do the test. If I remember right if the test strip turnes pick you have ketones in your urine, plus the strip tells you if there is blood, glucose, and a couple other things. But If I were you I would go get checked out just incase. I hope this helps.

You do not need to test with early morning urine. I usually test btwn 12 and 2pm, and my RE office says that is the best time. You can in fact test anytime, but I think 2ish is good.

I'm 25 weeks pregnant. At around 19 weeks, after having urethral pain for 2 weeks, I went to the ER as i was certain I did have a UTI, even though my doctor dismissed my symptoms and told me the leukocytes and bacteria found were from contamination. I was in considerably more pain that same night so headed to the ER where they confirmed I had a UTI and put me on cephalexin. I took it for 4 days until I started having diarrhea.

Another thing. Do you have any ketone strips? If not you can buy them at any pharmacy or grocery store in the diabetes area. Run one of the strips under your dog's urine stream and see if he has ketones in his urine. If he does he needs to get into the vet's ASAP.

You can always buy test strips at target or pharmacy. PH strips you can test the discharge and it will tell you if its just urine or amniotic fluid.

I got Ketostix Reagent test strips, and i used them twice, and they both came out negative! I really hope it was just my stress level and lack of food!

I took him to the doctors who’s referred us to the hospital and we’ve got the appointment for that this week, the gp told me to test his urine twice daily so I bought some strips from the pharmacy (£20 for 24!) and used them all up so I bought more online as I couldn’t afford that price again, they’re the same brand (siemens) but they test for a few extra things and I’d really appreciate anyone who knows wether to treat the bilirubin as + or -.

My husband and I are trying for a 3rd child we tried every other day this month and I tried checking to see if I was ovulating by using the strips but since I used new different strips it never gave me a positive so I don't when I ovulated. My period is never on time so it's hard to tell when I ovulate. Could this cramping be the beginning of implantation?

So why should our test strips? I take my blood sugar when I feel like it's high but these things give me numbers in the 80 -90 range, never above 100.

I went to two doctors. Had gonnohrea and clamydia test 7 days post which were negative. I went to plan parenthood today hoping to get swab test done. They said they didn't do that test. They took urine for second gonnohrea and clamydia test. I just don't know what to do now. My urethra feels like there is urine in it after I pee and there is some sensitivity but I can't get confirmation on whether I have a nsu. Really could use some opinions on this.
