622940 tn?1252515107 I have been monitoring my urine with 10-Parameter test strips. The last few days I have had a lot of blood in my urine (looks like diluted Heinz ketchup). Whereas everything else (except for high specific gravity) was ok previously, the protein has showed from + to ++. If this due to there being more blood? Many thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to read and/or respond.
336365 tn?1213319598 i am diabetic for15 years male 55,i had blood and urine test ,mybun, creatinine serum and creatinine urine are normal range but the microalb is high ,why in your opinion ,many thanks
Avatar m tn So please get this checked some of the moniters are inexpensive but the test strips are more expensive. The moniters go on sale frequently so for just a few checks it can be inexpensive but either way- GET TESTED!
Avatar n tn When they test for M'done in urine (at least on a clinic) they test for it's metabolite (called EDDP for short) & it's ratio to creatinine levels, There is a drug called Bentyl (Dicycloverine) prescribed for IBS that can potentially cause a false positive. There may be others too. It also depends on how good the lab is that is doing the testing. Sometimes there's sloppy work or cross-contamination, particularly in the 'collection' phase. I'd request a retest.
330478 tn?1278284916 URINE COLLECTION: Volume 24h: 2000 Creatinine 24h U: 14.3 BLOODWORK: Renin: 0.25 I was wondering if you could tell me what is considered "normal range" for all 3 test results and if you could elaborate on what you think might be going on and what should be done. I am seeing a nephrologist this wednesday and have a renal scan this thursday. Is this a sign that my kidney's are malfunctioning?
Avatar f tn It was a Urine Albumin Creatinine Ratio Test (UACR Test) The lab didn't gave the range for Albumin and creatinine. The range was only for the ratio that is <30 mg/g. I'm panicking because my urine is still foamy and on various they said it's associated with kidney issues. Should I do a GFR Test?
Avatar m tn hi all, i have no experience with kidneys tests and since i take an antiviral which can damage kidneys and i found albumine in urine in last test i ask if results are very bad or it can be normal to detect some from time to time albumine in urine 3mg/dl (0-2) cystatin C 0.98 (0.56-0.95) after i took an antibiotic in feb 2015 my creatinine clearance lowered to 88-90 (min 80) and creatinine got higher to 1.1-1.2 (before 0.8-0.9).
Avatar m tn sorry i have no idea but i do know that only creatinine clearance by 24hrs urine collection is realiable, formulas from blood creatinine values are useless because you can have kidneys damage and normal creatinine i monitor my kidneys by: creatinine clearance by 24hrs urine collection once a year blood creratinine every 3 months blood Phosphorus every 3 months blood calcium every 3 months checked creatinine/microalbumine ratio once in 3 years i prevent damage by fibroguard and keeping urine
Avatar m tn 24 hr urine test, protein total 192 mg (normal 150 mg), creatinine 1.7g/24h. blood creatinine 1.11 mg/dL. 5/16/2011: 24 hr urine test, protein total 330 mg, creatinie 1.79g/24h. blood creatinine 1.22 mg/dL. phosphourus 3.5 mg/dL 8/23/2011: 24 hr urine test, protein total 196 mg, creatinine 1.76g/24h. phosphourus 3.5 mg/dL. Everything else was normal. Creatinine and phosphourus were alway normal. Questions I have: 1) Does total protein fluctuate a lot in 24 hour urine tests?
3149845 tn?1506627771 Creatine phosphate is used in skeletal muscle contraction. Creatinine is a breakdown product of creatine. Creatinine blood levels can increase temporarily as a result of muscle injury and sometimes due to strenuous exercise. And the common causes for painless bleeding in the urine are infections of the kidney/bladder, disorders of the kidney/bladder, tumors, certain blood disorders, strenuous exercise and certain medications. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I had a 24 hour creatinine clearance test done and it showed 2 abnormal results: a high creatinine clearance of 145.7 (I am a 37 y.o. F) and the other was " UR PROTEIN, CALC" which was 230.4 when the reference range is <149.1. The urine protein was <4 so what is the difference between the urine protein and the other UR PROTEIN,CALC? and then there is marginally high, high, and way high--is 230.4 really high? It seems like it. Help!!
Avatar n tn I just had a BUN test. My UREA Nitrogen was 28. The lab range is 7-25 mg/dl. My BUN/Creatinine Ration was 36 with range of 6-22 (calc). What would cause these numbers to be this high? I drink plenty of water though my average times in urination is at least 10 times a day. My lower back does hurt and has been hurting for at least three months. I am very fatigued and have been previously set up for a sleep study. Just began taking provigil three days ago.
8521365 tn?1398618067 The creatinine clearance is a test for global kidney function, it can normally be well predicted from serum creatinine levels and well established formulas. The 24 hour urine collection used to determine creatinine clearance is however more accurate. Instead of serum creatinine Cystatin C in serum can be tested, it reflects kidney function better than serum creatinine. The urinary micro albumin is much more sensitive to determine stress to the glomeruli at an early stage.
Avatar n tn But if you really did have something wrong like a gallstone or other bile blockage, then the urine test will remain constant in showing the problem on repeated tests. If you didn't have the strip stored properly, the testing chemicals on the strip will become compromised/contaminated and will give you the crazy results. Be sure your test strips are stored in a small, airtight container. And that you use a clean urine collection cup as well.
Avatar f tn I have been scared of ngu or some other form of infection. I have used multiply uti test strips which test white blood cell count in urine. None have been positive, one or two showed trace amount of wbc (I've taken about 18 tests). Would these show an infection (ngu) if one existed???
1376011 tn?1278780384 usually when we do urine cortisol, the urine creatinine is also tested - the cortisol may be pending still.
Avatar n tn The test strips that I use are 10LG Parameter Urine Reagent Strips which can be bought on line at a reasonable price. These strips detect Leukocytes, Nitrite, Urobilinogen, Protein, pH, Blood, Specific Gravity, Ketone, Bilirubin, Glucose. You can get strips that detect less. The one that would be of interest if someone is suffering from dehydration is the Specific Gravity reading.
Avatar m tn Surprised I did some reading. This test is the ratio of blood creatitine to urine (24 hr) creatitine. Since my blood and urine were taken weeks apart I questioned the validity of the test. I ask for a my doctor to retest me and got and the second test, with blood drawn at the end of the urine collection period, showed a value of 108. I was not surprised there was a difference because the blood for the first test was drawn at time when I was poorly hydrated.
